This was by far the worst move-out experience I've ever had, and I've lived overseas and across the country. I'm also not the only resident this has happened to multiple people have had issues with management and unexpected charges. After separating from the military following 7 years of service, I provided proper notice and my separation orders to Kamari. She told me I would still have to pay a $2,700 lease termination fee and claimed military separation did not qualify, even though both federal law and the lease clearly state otherwise. Less than 24 hours later, I received move-out charges including the termination fee. Once I sent them the section of the lease proving I was exempt, they removed the fee but suddenly added over $500 in additional "damage" charges that were never mentioned before. When I asked Kamari if we could walk the unit together so I could see the damages, she told me that since I had already turned in my keys, "she did not have to show me anything" even though the lease states residents have the right to review damages. The office later said they would review my dispute and contact me within 30 days, but after multiple follow-up attempts, no one responded. Instead, they sent my account to collections without any communication or finalized resolution. It was only after I contacted regional management and threatened legal action that they removed all the bogus charges and returned my deposit. For almost $1,600 a month, you can absolutely find better apartments with more honest and professional management. In the time I have lived here we have had three property managers nobody wants to stay and I see why. The only positive thing about living here was the maintenance team, who were always responsive and helpful.

The washer and dryer in the unit are trash. The dryer has ruined so many clothes & the washer wouldn't wash for about a month & maintenance would come in and " fix " it . I'd inform them that it still wasn't working & they kept telling me it was fixed. It would make loud bangs with 5 pieces of children's clothing in & they still said it was fine.

In the beginning they come off as people who care about you and the issues you have as a tenant but in reality they're no better than vindictive poisonous snakes. The only positive thing I gotten from the leasing office is the corporate office private number; which is 1(229) 273-9430. Bill Turton is the owner, not that he will help but at least you will have it. I've been a tenant at The Richmond Apartments for a very long time and enjoyed my stay until I realized that my apartment was being burglarized by the maintenance workers. Over time, I began to realize that things were being taken from my home and the outside storage unit provided by this complex. At first it was small things like silverware, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins and mason jars. Things you knew you had but somehow just couldn't find. As time went on more things became missing, cleaning supplies, canned goods from my cabinet, packs of tooth brushes and toothpaste, bottles of Dove soap, bottles of lotion, scented candles, toys, children's book, clothes, school supplies, art supplies, Christmas ornaments and decoration. Food was taken from my refrigerator as well as my diabetic insulin. My prescription pain pills were also gone. My car keys were stolen and my car was rampaged through where the contents of glove compartment was spilled all over the car seats and floor. My credit card was stolen and $65.00 was spent at McDonald's. I've contacted the police and made numerous reports regarding the thefts but nothing could be done do to lack of evidence. I know it was the maintenance crew because there was never any forced entry and they always had access to the keys to my apartment. I'd informed Kayla and Tiffany about the situation. At first they seemed to care but then they became nonchalant finally downright defensive. I'd called them on several occasions to complain. Instead of addressing the matter they stopped answering my calls. The only time I'd get through would be if I called from a different phone number. When Tiffany realized it was me on the phone she cursed me out and hung up. Kayla whose supposed to be the manager did the same thing, then called the cops on me saying that I was harassing them. Because of their lack of concern the maintenance workers became more brazen and the burglaries escalated. Kayla took served me with an eviction notice claiming that I called the police too much. The case was thrown out. After I was able to find another place to live, I gave them noticed that I was leaving and I moved out. Although I cleaned the apartment they still kept my deposit and charged me additional fees. Because I refused to give into their extortion they are now trying to ruin my credit. For the price these apartments are amazing. The lake is shared with multiple apartment complexes and houses. Yes although trash sometimes floats in the water one must remind them selves that it isn't running water and sometimes stuff floats. The only downfall of these apartments is something they can't control which is geese. Not really the geese but geese... Um... Backfire. As at as safety I have not felt threatened at all, although sometimes I walk up on a few kids or adults smoking weed, I smile say hello and keep on keeping on. Although last month there was a shooting In The neighbor hood it was just a drug deal gone south. These things happen all over and for the last 8 months I have lived here that's the only major thing that has happened. In closing these apartments are a great deal but with a cheap price come a a few sacrifices. All in all I enjoy these apartments and have no problem calling them home.
