Please allow me to share a brief summary of my story. I fell from a ladder, sustaining a compound tib/fib ankle fracture, where my tibia literally planted in the dirt (an important fact to remember). Dr. Nemitz installed an XFix to prepare my bones for plating. A day later, I was discharged from Lee Memorial and sent home with no antibiotics. Over the next 2+ weeks, I called his office nearly every day and he even saw me in the office a few times to address my concerns regarding possible infection and constant fevers. The responses summarized: "it's normal", even though the wound was very red and oozing puss. Dr. Nemitz finally agreed the wound looked "angry", and agreed to perform a debridement surgery. During pre-OP, he again made his skepticism known by stating, "I don't care if the Infectious Disease team laughs at me when the cultures come back negative". The cultures came back double positive for soil-based bacteria. While being treated for infection, Dr. Nemitz installed the plates. After months of expected healing, he determined I was a non-union (bone never started to heal). I believe he finally realized his error and he quickly rushed me to Dr. Leach. After speaking to him, I decided to get a more experienced 2nd opinion outside the Ortho Specialists practice. Through research, I found Dr. Sanders at Florida Orthopedic Institute (FOI). During my 1st surgery at Tampa General Hospital (TGH), Dr. Sanders found leaves, grass, and soil still embedded in my tissue near the tibia. The cultures at TGH also found a 3rd bacteria which likely wasn't found because Dr. Nemitz didn't take deep enough samples, as he didn't believe I had an infection. The infection degraded over 2 inches of my tibia, and took 6 more surgeries, and a bone graft, to correct the mistakes made by Dr. Nemitz and Lee Memorial. 10 months later, I was finally able to start walking again. While I still have months of rehab and healing to go, I am grateful to Dr. Sanders and the Tampa General team. I'll leave you with the words of Dr. Sanders, when he first met me. After only a few seconds of examining my Xrays, he asked: "who did this to you?". Had I not gone for the 2nd opinion, I likely would have lost my lower leg, to infection.

if i could leave 0 stars i would!…read more The billing department has been a nightmare. Before my endoscopy, I contacted them multiple times to get the highest estimated cost billed to my insurance. I was told 24 hours before the procedure that insurance would be billed around $500. I agreed to proceed, expecting to pay a maximum of $200 after what insurance would have covered. However, my insurance was billed over $900, not the $500 promised. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, including requesting recorded calls, I was told they couldn't provide them and that the information I was given was incorrect. ( i informed them that's not my problem and that i ONLY agreed to this due to the cost and told them pull there calls yet again) I then contacted the complaints department, where I recorded the calls (with their knowledge). They assured me the issue would be escalated and that this was indeed not fair and I would receive a follow-up with a call/ email, but after several attempts to follow up, I got no response. I later discovered my bill was sent to collections due to billing errors. When I called about this, the complaints department refused to provide any information and denied our prior conversation. I reminded them I had the call recorded, in which they tried to claim they didn't know in which i responded i have it recorded mam u saying it was fine....and then she rudely said her peace and hung up on me, refusing to honor their promises. This whole experience has been frustrating, and I feel completely misled and ignored. I will no longer be dealing with anything associated with millennium if this is how they treat there patients.

Dr. Tritel took on my complex case and has done a tremendous job working over the last 6 months in developing me a strong medical team, in tandem with his work. We interviewed other concierge practices in the Lee/Collier vicinity and it was apparent in the 1st meeting that we were a perfect fit. We couldn't be more pleased with his exceptional, professional and thorough care. While we are very healthy 69 and 70 yr. olds, unexpected things occur. As exceedingly careful as we have been throughout this pandemic, we were exposed to and contracted Covid-19. When my condition deteriorated to a very concerning level, my husband called Dr. Tritel who immediately responded and intervened. He assessed the conditions my husband was explaining over the phone, and calmly and with absolute conviction advised my husband to call 9-1-1 to get me to the hospital immediately. I was admitted, diagnosed with double pneumonia and with Dr. Tritel's intervention and constant communication with the hospital and my husband, received the utmost care and the Remdesivir treatment and Convalescent Plasma through the clinical trial in place between the hospital and the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Tritel was pro-active in seeking these treatments on my behalf. We are 100 percent convinced this would not have occurred without Dr. Tritel. While he will not take credit for saving my life, I am stating for you in this review that is very much the case. We were beyond pleased with our relationship with Dr. Tritel prior to this life changing experience; we are now beyond grateful to Him for his dedication to his patients and our care. I trusted his judgement and so far have been very satisfied. I have had to see his nurse instead of him once but that is okay, most usually they allow you more time and attention that the physician himself can. The office is a little strange with the waiting area basically being a hallway and with social distancing the space is a bit uncomfortable.
