The original section was built in 1890, and is a three-story, ashlar sandstone and limestone building measuring 65 feet wide and 180 feet long. It is in the Romanesque Revival style. They just got approval to have an extension and upgrade to the courthouse. Do to the pandemic, I would recommend calling Courthouse before going, they are not allowing people to come into courthouse for normal reasons. For civil/criminal cases (most) are being done virtual. Making payments, you must mail them in, no in person payments. They are following all guild lines as directed by CDC.

Restored to house some small businesses, it was nice taking a stroll through and also looking at the various exhibits regarding the building and area's history. One of the first shops we visited was "Uplift" which is right there when you walk in. The woman who was working (maybe the owner) was so informative about the building and surrounding areas and really gave us some great recommendations. She also showed us some of the products she sells and let us try on some lotion. She was great with my son who is always a bit reserved at first, but she got through his shell. Great shop, we purchased a few things that have now become our favorites, most of all, that lotion we tried! If you go downstairs to "The Boiler Room" which is a private event space (do not go in if you see a lot going on, most likely a private party), if the room is empty you can go in (gorgeous space) and through the door to the outside to take a look at the beautiful waterfall behind the building! There is also a cafe steps away outside of the building where you can refresh with a quick snack and beverage or a sandwich!

We were lucky to get the correct mail if we got any mail at all! Poor Bob didn't know much about anything Postal related, but you are only good as your trained! Funny Neil got paid to ride his bike around Lake Harmony because the office was rarely opened back up at 1:00 when he worked! Thank God April took over & cleaned it out & organized it to the way we all remembered it. Christine came back to help run it like it used to be ran when she worked here with Postmaster Jack Pickle years ago. It is not only kept clean but well stocked & organized also. These two women know their jobs. They are pleasant & friendly to talk to. If you have a question, they will answer you & also give options on other ways a letter or package can be sent if you ask. These two are a breath of fresh air, after all the years of ones who didn't care or show up on time to work! It's a joy to be back fulltime in Lake Harmony now that we are retired! Every week they have things for the kids to attend.
