These guys are jerks! If you aren't absolutely sure of what you want and if it meets their requirements, I would look for another place to go. One requirement is that the tattoo is not "too small". If I want a small tattoo and I have already paid you for it, why wouldn't you do it? You're a tattoo parlor. They said it would fade because it's so small and they don't do that sort of thing. Sounds very purist and unwelcoming for people who want their first tattoo. They take a $100 deposit to get an appointment and then will not refund you when they refuse you the service that you paid for. read more

Said I cant help you and dismissed me like yesterdays trash. The work there is good but their attitude is one of "My shit doesn't stink"! That guy was a real piece of work. I went in today to get a nose ring and six hoops for my ear. I ended being charged $242 dollars for these simple click-in hoops. The pricing of this was not explained up front, and I was never given a chance to ask the cost of anything. I was also never told what the earrings are made of. Made a reservation to get a tattoo with my sister while she was in town from Los Angeles. I paid a $100 deposit, and showed what we wanted done. They said it may need to be a little bigger than the one I showed, and asked me to email a photo of exactly what we wanted. On the day of, they kept saying the tattoo we wanted was still too small and it would have to be bigger. The tattoo they wanted to give me looked nothing like what I asked for! We kept insisting that we wanted a tattoo like the photo we sent over and were willing to pay for it, but the artist refused to give us the tattoo we wanted. I went because one of my kids got ears pierced at the mall and had gotten infected even if my child had cleaned them. Had taken my child to the doctor because the earlobe has gotten so swollen it covered the earring. Fast forward three MONTHS later and it was still swelling up. Called Brainstorm Tattoo because I thought why wouldn't the piercing experts give better advice. So I called I walked right in two kind gentleman told me the earrings were incorrect size and said that we only needed to increase earring size it took two earring sizes, cleaned the area, drained the liquid that had been stuck there, hence the swelling, and put the correct earrings on. They gave us advice in ways to keep ears healthy and only charged me for the price of the earrings. They were clean, kind and tried to keep my child upbeat thoroughly the whole painful ordeal. So thankful for them and whenever we need piercings and/or tattoos I will wholeheartedly recommend Brainstorm Tattoo. I've only gone here for my nose piercing. Walked in. No appointment. Drew is the piercer and he's great. Sweet and friendly guy who explains the process very thoroughly. I got it done in April 2016 and had him change my jewelry about 3 months later. The very next day I accidentally knocked it out and couldn't get the jewelry back in. It was just my luck that it was a Sunday. I go into the shop on Monday and find out he is out for 2 weeks on vacation, BUT this part speaks to how great and helpful the people at Brainstorm are. The guy I talked to actually reached out to Drew and told him my situation. Drew said to text him and I did. He suggested what I should do and connected me with someone while hes out. I have been here both get a very large tattoo on my torso, as well as to get my second nose piercing. As much as I would like to like this place because of its reputation, as well as because I am familiar with, and a fan of the owner; i just do not enjoy brainstorm. I feel it is a very male oriented establishment, and there seems to be little dedication to the comfort of the customers. I received my very first tattoo from them on my 18th birthday (almost 2 years ago now). It is a large lavender tattoo that stretches quite large on my torso. Firstly I wasn't allowed to bring anyone back with me to hold my hand (every other tattoo shop i've been to has prioritized my comfort and has not had a problem with this), when being given the tattoo itself I was very vulnerable, shirt pulled up, exposing part of my breasts. Rather than making an effort to make my barely legal, vulnerable body feel comfortable, my tattoo artist (josh, i believe?) made little effort to soothe the experience. Several men came and looked over me, eyeing my body. One even made a comment, "looks like you're having fun", to which I replied "i'm not", and he then said "not you". As if to allude that Josh was having fun because he was working on my exposed body. Then after the tattoo was finished, I asked "what will happen to the tattoo if I get pregnant?" someone immediately replies "i guess you can't get pregnant". Such a misogynistic vibe. I will say though, Josh did an amazing job art wise, my tattoo is beautiful and I love it, I just can't help but look at it and relive that horrible experience. Then I come in maybe a year later to get my second nose piercing done, by what looks to be the only woman working there, and she couldn't even put my nose ring in, I had to do it myself! Like I said, I want to like this place, but have had nothing but poor experience. read more

Was excited to get a piercing and drove here from Bella Vista. I only chose this place cuz of previous reviews. Walked in and no one acknowledged me nor looked up. I counted 4 tattoo artists present and one piercer. I waited by the front counter. A customer that got tattooed and was ready to leave came up to where I was. I asked her the tattoo artists name that did her tattoo and she looked super confused and pointed to some other dude. When in reality the dude cashing her out was the guy that did her tattoo. Note to self never ask a stranger who did their tattoo and they point at a different guy! Anyways asked homeslice if the piercer had time to do a room. He responded, "Probably not. I'll go check." He comes back and grabs the tablet demands my ID then tosses the tablet in front of me stating Che k off the boxes and sign. Drew was pretty efficient but still not really personable. He did enjoy looking at me and my pants. After I got my piercing I popped up and walked myself to the front, cashed out and ran outta there. It's creepily weird but all the guys looked the dame, wearing trucker hats and glasses with the exception of Drew not wearing glasses. No personality or small talk. It's like they hate what their doing and it's killing them. Anyways I've said my peace if you want a personable, professional experience this isn't for you. So, I was told by complete strangers to go to this place. Having seen the work first hand I finally six months later made my way there today. First of all I am new to the area and not use to so little options. But had only heard great things specifically about Tim. So I call and then go on a whim...knowing I want a full sleeve at some point. Upon entering my fiancé began talking with the gentlemen who greeted him first. He has never had a tattoo before nor had much experience with this environment. I was just excited to see, feel out and meet these people. Obliviously my fiancé felt discouraged when he explained and showed them a picture of what he wanted explained who he wanted it from... Then this gentlemen of whom we we're left to deal with states that instead of dealing with whom we want we will get someone else and that the quarter size tattoo would be roughly 300.-. Now on recommendation from a co-worker who had a full sleeve done there for roughly 2500.- or so I was told this seems a little off. We did not deal with Tim, did not speak to him directly. But left feeling like and I quote my fiancé " I feel like he was just screwing me over because I know nothing about any of this." Soooo Discouraging YES. If this is the best NorthWest Arkansas has to offer than that is sad. Their customer service skills at least with whom we dealt with SUCKED! Go elsewhere.
