It seemed silly to buy a whole quart of firewood at the end of the season, so we've been going to the grocery store. The wood is sub par, wrapped in environmentally unfriendly plastic and pops A LOT! So when we were driving past this place in Milton, we gave it a shot. They are lovely and will load firewood into your car for you. I went on my way home while wearing a suit, heels and formal coat, and the gentleman helping us out would not let me touch a log. Their wood burns very nicely and is the perfect size. There are very few pops and the wood is high quality. We recently relocated to the Boston area, and had purchased wood from another source in NY. This wood is far superior to what we had previously ordered and we plan to order it in bulk next year. Bonus points, this quaint store has nice freshly baked bread, flowers and gourmet goods as well as some staples. Only thing I would recommend is adding some Iggy's baguettes. Cute store with excellent service!

We used to order directly from Thatcher Farms but stopped getting delivery a few years ago. I still like to grab a few from here or the Fruit Center Marketplace in the square every so often. I really enjoy their chocolate milk (they sell Hatchland Farms NH & Thatcher Farms), but today I saw that they had coffee milk too! Thought that was interesting but didn't end up grabbing... I must try it next time ;) Aside from the milks, they also carry popular beverage brands like Polar Seltzer cans, Oatly! Oatmilk, Welch's juices, Newman's Own, Tropicana, etc. They also sell bread, sandwiches, snacks such as cookies and candy, and fresh flowers that are displayed outside! In the fall, they have a bunch of pumpkins for sale & in the winter time, they usually have some Christmas trees you can buy! Very cute place & highly recommend if you're in the area.

I found people were packing up early so consider it more like 1-5pm. It was pricier then I thought it would be. I know its great to support the locals so I don't mind shelling out an extra few bucks to have locally grown items. There were about 3 veggie vendors all around the same prices. I got a small watermelon for $3 and a melon for $2. The bakery items were limited to cookies at $2 each or bags of 6 for $7 at another table. Then small loafs of bread. The pie vendor had a huge selection, I found the sample I had a bit syrupy though. The jelly person let me sample some mixed berry jam that was very tasty. For $6 a jar I might go back for some when I run out. There was a nice couple selling potted herbs for cheap. They also gave me some great tips on why some herbs grow stronger then others. Other booths were honey, fresh fish, and some home made items. Plenty of parking near the wharf.

It's definitely not SOWA, Copley or any major metropolitan farmer's Market like the Marche Jean Talon in Montreal. There's a good assortment of vendors, however. There were a number of people selling pies and other dessert items, several options for fruits and veg and herbs. There's a stand selling coffee, too. Burke's seafood was here as well as some farms selling cheese. I don't love that it's only open on Thursdays from 1-6. So, if you have a 9-5 job and a normal commute, well, guess you are SOL. Why can't they have this on Saturday or later into the evening?

The produce is consistently clean, healthy, raised responsibly and organized neatly. They have a variety of crops and are terrific about educating people about new vegetables. They sell lots of "weeds" that are actually wonderful additions to any pantry, and staff members are pleasant and knowledgeable about how to cook everything and what it tastes like. Much of the leftover produce is donated to the food shelf and other community organizations, and they are conscientious about composting, reusing materials and containers, and avoiding one-use items.
