It seemed silly to buy a whole quart of firewood at the end of the season, so we've been going to the grocery store. The wood is sub par, wrapped in environmentally unfriendly plastic and pops A LOT! So when we were driving past this place in Milton, we gave it a shot. They are lovely and will load firewood into your car for you. I went on my way home while wearing a suit, heels and formal coat, and the gentleman helping us out would not let me touch a log. Their wood burns very nicely and is the perfect size. There are very few pops and the wood is high quality. We recently relocated to the Boston area, and had purchased wood from another source in NY. This wood is far superior to what we had previously ordered and we plan to order it in bulk next year. Bonus points, this quaint store has nice freshly baked bread, flowers and gourmet goods as well as some staples. Only thing I would recommend is adding some Iggy's baguettes. Cute store with excellent service!

We used to order directly from Thatcher Farms but stopped getting delivery a few years ago. I still like to grab a few from here or the Fruit Center Marketplace in the square every so often. I really enjoy their chocolate milk (they sell Hatchland Farms NH & Thatcher Farms), but today I saw that they had coffee milk too! Thought that was interesting but didn't end up grabbing... I must try it next time ;) Aside from the milks, they also carry popular beverage brands like Polar Seltzer cans, Oatly! Oatmilk, Welch's juices, Newman's Own, Tropicana, etc. They also sell bread, sandwiches, snacks such as cookies and candy, and fresh flowers that are displayed outside! In the fall, they have a bunch of pumpkins for sale & in the winter time, they usually have some Christmas trees you can buy! Very cute place & highly recommend if you're in the area.

Finally! JP's…read morefarmer's market options have left a lot to be desired. Until now. I'm so thrilled that we finally have a legit, large market with an incredible selection of vendors right in my backyard (almost literally). The market is the brainchild of my friend and neighbor, Kate, and she's worked tirelessly over the last year putting this thing together. All that hard work has created an incredible addition to our neighborhood. Yesterday I bought lamb chorizo sausage, locally made honey, kale grown by the cutest high school kids ever, organic eggs, hummus, and signed up for a weekly fish CSA. I had to stop myself from buying cheese, cupcakes, chocolate, donuts, and a really cute painting. So many awesome things to buy! Kate & her crew of volunteers have curated a diverse group of vendors with a little something for everyone. You can pretty much get anything you'd need/want from these vendors: The Buckle Farm Foxboro Cheese Co. Great Cape Baking Co. John Crow Farm Mei-Mei Street Kitchen Red's Best Fish Seta's Mediterranean (I'm eating her hummus right now. It's so freakin' good) Stillman's at the Turkey Farm Stillman's Farm The Cupcakory The Food Project Urban Hydr-O Farmers Vianne Chocolat Yard Birds Here's hoping the market's success continues- because I want this back in my neighborhood this summer! (with even more vendors!)

As a hilarious bonus, they put John Crowe and Stillman's meat vendors right across the aisle from each other one week, and the glares going back and forth between them made my a day a better one. And John Crowe had grass-fed goat for sale! But let's get right to business. Ruuska Pickles. Have you ever had Ruuska's pickles? You should have some of Ruuska's pickles. We found these guys about a month ago, and are eating a truly unbelievable of pickles now. They're stunning. They have my pregnant wife's seal of approval, and... well, you probably know what that means.

You never know from one shopping day for the next if they're gonna give you the hairy eyeball or they're gonna be helpful. One example: I had some questions and I asked the people at the stand and they were like oh yeah just go to our website and send a message and maybe back it up with a phone call. I called three times over. Two weeks and I sent two emails. No one ever got back to me. And it was really important that I discussed some things health related things and I simply couldn't get an answer. So next time I was at the stand, I told the people what it happened and the person I was talking to literally just shrugged their shoulders and trying to be funny they said in a cartoon voice, "well, tough beans!" Not cool. Really not cool.

I really appreciate that given the small space available the priority is given to fresh foods (produce, fish, meat) rather than other small businesses like candles or tote bags that you see at larger markets. I do wish we were able to have the Tuesday market available all year instead of just summer, but I'm glad Saturdays at least are all year. As other reviewers have shared, prices are not cheap but the quality is exceptional. If we were able to get to use more of the parking lot to bring in more stalls that would be awesome, but until then I'm happy with our little baby market.
