I first met Jaiden and then I spoke with LaToya later - both individuals obviously have outstanding work ethics and are very experienced as well...plus they are kind and supportive people. And then on Monday, I met Raegan and Brooklyn who work alongside Dr. Adam in the surgical room/suite. It seems to me, that both Raegan and Brooklyn are very skilled and sensitive people, because I was a wee bit nervous and excited at the same time. As I indicated earlier, this is gonna be a process; so, I just might follow-up a few months from now to let whomever is interested know the final fabulous results. I have used alot of dentists in Birmingham before and I have cavities from time to time. Dr. Davis is by far the most gentle and calming doctor I have had. She filled my cavities with no pain during or after and had my teeth lined up perfectly the first time! Dr. Koplon and his staff gladly stayed late and fixed the problem. Over the years we enjoyed hearing about his children, including his son who was in dental school. Gentle music, calm atmosphere, massage chairs, a blanket if you want - all the things. Everyone is so kind and helpful, and the staff and doctors are so attentive. I've had regular cleanings as well as fillings and, most recently, a crown (same day!) at this location. I have zero complaints about any of these interactions. They develop a care plan with you before treatment, so there are no surprises when you're done. My 5-year old daughter also is seen here and she has developed an early enjoyment of going to the dentist, which I know is uncommon. I am writing this review based on my sister's experience working at this dental office, as well as…read morewhat she shared with me about the workplace. My sister is a Black woman, and the way Black employees were treated raised serious concerns for me. She also described what she felt was unequal treatment among employees. According to her, one white employee was allowed to contribute very little to the workplace without facing the same level of scrutiny or consequences as others. This created concerns about favoritism and unequal standards. I also learned about another Black female employee who reportedly passed out after being exposed to blood. She continued working there afterward but was reportedly fired approximately a year later. This raised additional concerns about how Black employees were treated. It seems to be a pattern with Black individuals in general. Seeing Dr. Gooch wearing a "Gulf of America" T-shirt also made me uncomfortable and contributed to my concerns about the workplace environment. Based on my sister's experience and what she shared with me, I would encourage anyone considering this office to carefully consider their options.

This is a long story, I'll try and make it short, so bare with me.... in 2019 I had 6 or 8 teeth pulled from the top and had a top plate made. At first, I thought everything was great and that Dr. Redmond and his staff were absolutely amazing. However, with in months I was back in there getting it a cushion liner put in the top plate.... he had to do this for me multiple times!!!! In addition to me having to use fixodent multiple times a day just to keep it in my mouth. It never suctioned the way it was supposed to... then I was told he wouldn't do that anymore, that I should buy something online and do it myself. During this time, I was being fitted for a lower partial. It had to be done 5 times... and yes, he did continue to work on it until it was right, however it was never done right, it never fit right without pain. And finally he just threw his hands up, told me he couldn't do anything else to help me and that it wasn't a dental problem, it was a medical one and he sent me to a doctor that did not take insurance and wanted over $800 out of pocket to even sit in her chair. I was lost, didn't know what to do, my right jaw was so painful I could barely open my mouth! But he couldn't have cared any less, his answer was to pawn me off on his doctor/dentist friend. So, after over a year of trying to go through my medical doctor to get treatment for "trigeminal neuralgia" I've been attempting to wear the last lower partial that was made for me. You know, the one that was supposed to fit but because of my "medical not dental problem. Well, big surprise it still does not fit right and causes pain when I've been pain free in that jaw for months. Now, it is 2022 and my upper was made in 2019. Bare in mind, the suction was never right with this plate and I was in there every few months in the beginning to have it cushioned, relined, or whatever it's called. It is now getting to the point where I literally have to use fixodent powder and/or paste, at least 4 times every single day!! People have top plates that stay put every where I look and for some reason mine has never done that. He wants to charge me $100 to get this cushion stuff put on my top plate. Something that takes him maybe 10 minutes. And according to him, the cushion grip on Amazon, does just as well as what he an do in his office. Well cushion grip on Amazon is less than $10. His staff was more than rude, and today wasn't the first time. He has thrown his hands up with me and my mouth because, in his words, I make to much saliva, so it's my fault nothing fits in my mouth right. Anyway, he may be the cheapest, but just remember, there's a reason for that!!!!!! I was 100% wrong about him, as a dentist and person, and 100% wrong about his staff.

From the initial entrance, to my teeth cleaning and even leaving at the end of my visit, every interaction was professional, warm and welcoming and they seemed genuinely appreciative of Mt families business. I brought my 2 littles in with me, for my cleaning and the hygienist, Becca, was so sweet and grabbed 2 chairs for them. The waiting area is bright, clean and was decorated for valentines day. They had a mini bar with soft drinks, a coffee station and cute homemade treats by the front desk. I'm so glad I chose this place for our new dentist.
