Usually when a dentist is giving you numbing shots he will make it less uncomfortable. He did not do this. I just received a bill for $165.00 for a 3d x-ray that is not covered. I paid what they asked me to pay when I was there. I called about this bill and the girl said yes, insurance usually doesn't cover that. I asked why didn't you tell me that insurance would probably not pay for it. I then asked, if they could discount this amount to what insurance would allow. She said NO. I told her my dentist had sent me for a root canal of one tooth. I didn't see why they had to do a 3D of my entire mouth. If you go be prepared for additional charges that are not covered.

It seems to me that they decided they weren't goin to do the work, but wanted the X-rays to justify the copay for doing nothing. I'm sure they do a great job if they are going to try to save your tooth. However, feeling shafted leaving an endodontist isn't the feeling you want to have, and I certainly have that feeling.

In a true crisis that was after hours, this office came through with no notice and we left in a…read moremuch better situation. PROs: Called this office right after my kid had a dental emergency while playing in the summer. The receptionist was very calming and answered all of my questions before we decided to make the drive there. Once we arrived, we were done with X rays and in the back with the staff and the actual dentist doing the exam within 10 mins. The dentist reassured us both of the situation and offered to fix everything on the spot. His name was Gio I think. Within about 60 mins of him getting started on the treatment plan he was done and the problem was solved that just needed some time to let things calm down. The exam was $85 upfront and our treatment plan was an additional $500. There was no financial surprises or hidden fees. Everyone was very nice, professional, and knowledgable. Not to mention it was like 7pm on a weekday when they took us. CONs: None!

After services were done, I was blindsided with unexpected costs. When I questioned this, I was told it was "my responsibility" to find out -- even though insurance verification is literally Kelly's job. If the office expects patients to do all the work themselves, then there is no reason to employ an insurance coordinator. I will not return, and I will be warning others about this lack of professionalism

She was throughout but honestly my first cleaning that didn't hurt me! My filling was a quick procedure and the numbest went away in just a couple of hours. The staff was always nice and helpful. Also there was almost never a wait time! I hate waiting. I can't say enough good things about the staff and doctors at Dobbs and Adkins.
