If you want to waste your time and money then go right ahead. The owner/only laborer will sweet talk you before you sign a contract with him and make promises, later came to find out he doesn't even have a truck to bring the equipment needed to deliver the services he agreed to. Then had the audacity to ask me to borrow MY personal truck to deliver the machine! Another thing you might want to be aware of is that the contract stated he gets a big deposit upon signing.. people if the contractor asks for money up front for a small project it should immediately raise a red flag! Real professional contractors usually won't require deposits(unless it's a big job) and won't require any money until the job is done! Don't make the mistake I did. I made the mistake to pay him 90% of the total bid quantity. He even admitted that he needed more money to pay his personal bills. After two weeks of going back and forth with this guy he tells me to pay him more so that he can buy the material(concrete) needed to finish the job! After I refused and told him I wasn't going to furnish the material for him(which was clearly stated in the contract and showed him) he said he was going to pack his stuff and leave until I paid. Least to say he didn't come back and he robbed me of my money for pushing dirt around and cutting brush around trees. Horrible experience and I surely learned my lesson. Be careful out there guys, there are bad contractors out there as well as good contractors. Best advice I could give is to find a referred contractor with some references, if not then find one that specializes in the work you have, not a "handyman" that can do any type of work. Oh I also cannot forget about the 10:30 am starting time, 2 hr lunches and 3:30 pm quitting time(Thank you home security cameras) also, expect messy work and trash in the yard upon leaving.

For this project, I aerated and dethatched part of my front yard and it was in need of a good base layer for the soil to recover; in addition to, landscaping a front patio area. I ordered 1 1/2 Cubic Yard Leaf Mold Compost, 1/2 Yard of Landscaper mix, a few Black-eyed Susan, a Mexican Sage bush and some other pollinators. Due to the time saved from gathering all my materials from this one location saved me $$$ and I was able to complete the project in a weekend. If your need is not as expansive they offer bagged soil for smaller needs, but to get the best value I would partner with a fellow DIYers with pickup trucks and order loose materials or have it delivered on site. Nature's Way Resources also have a big selection of mulch, compost, fertilizers and offer a Green Waste Recycling program. If you read this post to the end, I will let you in on a little secret.....they have a rock garden in the rear where contractors and DIYers dump material not needed and you will find some gems for FREE. All you need to do is sign a liability waiver at the front desk and recommend you have some sturdy steel toe boots, gloves, and watch out for critters.

The Home Depot person entered the wrong SKU and because of their mistake I received the wrong Washer. Home Depot has a strict 48 hour return policy. They were deliered and hooked up at out Lake house but my wife did not seeth washer & dryer uuntil after 48 hours. Home depot would not take back the washer even though it was their mistake unless ip hysically brought it in an paid a 25% restocking charge, I an elderly and only have a small compact hybrid and there is no way I could bring the washer it. I had also noticed a red light on the washer and Home Depot coul not tell me why? My plumber later told me it was normal during spin to lock lid. Not only is Home Depot arrogant and unprofessional , they are also stupid.
