I have spent years and a lot of money trying to problem solve as to why I was miserable - from custom dental guards, Invisalign, glasses, meds, dr's, larger monitors. I learned about Binocular Vision Dysfunction (on TikTok) and was concerned it might be my problem, but that Dr was in CA. I learned that I needed specifically a Behavioral Neurological Optometrist and a regular eye Dr does not screen for this, despite my previous eye dr's telling me they did. I drove an hour and a half for the appt, she was able to see me that day I called. Dr Janidlo spent THREE hours with me. She watched me walk, sway, learned my sensory noise and light issues, and eventually put a makeshift pair of prism lenses on me. She gave me ear planes to take home. It was like everything that was visually loud became calm, I could see the texture details on the walls with such clarity. The tension in my face relaxed. I wasn't closing one eye anymore to focus or tilting my head. For over 40 years my eyes have not been aligned and were fighting each other hard to focus on the same thing. It's been about two months and I am now off most of my migraine meds, (I was taking 5) I don't have the tension in my face, neck and shoulders like I used to, and grieve that my younger self could have had this relief. All the meds I didn't have to take. You can have 20/20 and still have BVD. About a month after I got my new glasses I went back for a f/u, and Dr Janidlo adjusted my prisms and cut me new lenses on the spot. I am so incredibly grateful for this life changing experience and it was worth every single penny. If you are a migraine sufferer get checked out. If your child is not doing great in sports, school, or if you keep losing your place when you read, bump into walls, GET CARSICK, or are dizzy, give Dr Janidlo a call. You won't regret it. She also has BVD and genuinely cares that you get relief.

They pushed my appointment back just earlier today because someone else was running late. Two hours after my original appointment and 49 minutes after my rescheduled appointment I'm still getting the runaround and rudeness. Dr. Janidlo herself was rude, unorganized and unapologetic. I've been here before and was treated okay. After my experience today I won't be going back & neither will my husband.

I broke a front tooth & called around--several dentists not accepoting new patients, others way too…read morelong till appointment. This practice, but not this dentist, had seen me so I got an appointment. Xray. Nasty assistant came in, wanted over $1200 WHILE I WAS STILL IN CHAIR and before any work. Reluctantly I agreed- rather embarrassing to decline & leave -- so I started to write a check. Oh, NO! Left & returned, total now $1408. In the hour I was in the office dentist was treating at least 1 other patient & probably 2. The cap was well positioned & so far serviceable. Seemed to need to make it all in one visit! I will not be back nor do I even remotely recommend this practice.

This hospital is a criminal enterprise. I had an outpatient procedure here where they put me under…read more Upon waking the nurse shoved a glass of ice water in my face and told me to hurry up and drink it, then urinate and get out because she had other patients that needed the room. I was just waking up and in shock. I looked around while still groggy and she got even more angry at me that I hadn't started drinking the ice water and started shouting that I was being charged for half a day already and that if I didn't hurry up and get out, the hospital would charge me for a full day. I asked how long since I had been out of the procedure and she informed me that I had been out of the operating room for 30 minutes and 45 minutes is the maximum they allow for outpatients to use the room. 45 minutes and charging patients for a half day and a full day if you don't immediately wake up and run out the door and say thank you. It's sad that hospitals are allowed to charge people like this and the UPMC business ethics sure shine through their employees with how they treat customers. I mean.. imaging being charged $60,000 to be treated like a piece of dirt and then shouted at, and told afterwards that if you don't hurry up and gtfo, you'll be charged even more. I imagine if you were an insurance auditor and really started running numbers to calculate how many outpatient surgeries were done in a day versus how many half day charges for a bed were being sent to them. If I were an insurance company, I'd be sending all of my auditors to UPMC Bedford and asking to look through their books. If I were a lawyer, I'd be looking back on how long they've been doing this and at how many other locations, this practice is happening. I imagine that a really good lawyer could make their retirement happen early on what he or she finds.

However, I am very happy to say that ALL of the Doctors, Nurses, and Secretaries who I met that day at UPMC were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. It was very obvious that they were working very hard to make me feel at ease and their professional attitude made me feel confident that I was getting the best possible care, and I was! The procedure was done flawlessly and fortunately with good results for me. I of course do not look forward to having this procedure done again in the future but at least I know that I will be in good hands when it is done again by the knowledgeable, professional and caring Staff at UPMC Bedford Memorial. The lovely woman who did my pre-screening was very kind and good at her job, which is a perfect reflection of Dr. Lazer himself. He did not rush through the exam at all, took plenty of time to explain each test and asked questions to find out and address my concerns with both medical issues as well as contact lens preferences. He explained how my vision had changed since I got my glasses three years ago, which is why they now cause me headaches--something I had just mentioned casually. Incredible! He then suggested a few different contact lenses I may prefer based on my needs and that he would put together a sample so I could try each brand out. Wow!! I have had acupuncture many times before, but had never tried Tui Na or Cupping Therapy until…read morevisiting here. If you are ever in the Bedford Springs area (staying at the Omni or just visiting), I highly recommend stopping here for acupuncture. Elisa is trained in all three of these techniques, as well as in Chinese medicine. Tui Na is a resonating massage style that seemed to totally 'wake up' every muscle in my back. It felt fantastic. I was worried about cupping therapy, because I had never had it before, but I can not recommend it enough. Rather than pushing down on muscles, cupping involves glass globes that create a vacuum and pull up on the muscles in your back. After these two, the acupuncture itself was well done. I could feel the points activating and felt amazing for the rest of the weekend. (I posted this on Google as well...)
