Brandon has been teaching my middle school aged son for over six months now on the Viola. He is an amazing teacher. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable, fun, detailed, and funny. We initially went to Brandon to help prepare my son for his LACHSA ( Los Angeles County High School for the Arts) audition. They worked not only on scales and songs but also on audition technique. My son got accepted to the school. Brandon's instruction has helped my son take his viola playing to the next level. His love and passion for his instrument has grown since being instructed by Brandon. I appreciate how quickly he answers text message or will send us a quick video to answer one of my sons questions. He has even invited us to one of his concerts. My son is eager to get to his lesson each week. Brandon instructed me on viola for about a year, and he's been absolutely amazing. In Brandon I found a teacher who was attentive to detail, patient, dedicated, and passionate about instrumental music and about teaching. In the first few lessons, he worked with me to find lapses in my previous instruction, and with saintlike patience, helped me reconstruct my technique. He struck a good balance between scales/technical practice and repertoire expansion with me. What really stands out about Brandon, beyond his skill with his art, is how genuinely invested he is in his students. He constantly encouraged me and motivated me to work hard to improve. He also brings a bright sense of humor to his lessons, and he's a delight to converse with. He is flexible about scheduling, and very easy to communicate with. I learned so much from Brandon, and I greatly enjoyed my lessons with him. Brandon is great with adult students as well. He is both patient and informative while encouraging his students in the process. His one-on-one attention to detail is very helpful. I have also been impressed how quickly he responds to emails sent to him whenever I have had a question. Highly recommend Brandon!!!!! At first I was hesitant to sign-up my 4 year old son in violin lessons, since he has a difficult time focusing BUT since my son has been taking violin lessons with Brandon he has been able to learn how to focus and develop an interest for music and playing the violin.
