I graduated from Augie back in 2019 & this was a staple for Saturday afternoon grub with buddies. Not sure what happened since then but yesterday's visit was atrocious... We wanted to grab a bite before heading back to Chicago & ended up waiting 2 hours for an order of boneless chicken wings. I truly couldn't wait another second so we just got up and left. An afternoon wasted. We had a fairly large group & were given a heads up that it would be close to an hour, but there were never updates given on the food, asking for refills, our waitress saying, "Sorry I drastically underestimated the time," etc. If we knew it would've been 2hours, we would've gone somewhere else. I'm hoping they can turn this ship around & not just rely on college kids to keep them in business. read more

The service was very slow. A group came in ahead of me, but 40 minutes to wait is excessive. The food was okay, but the meat on the sandwich was not very tender. There was only one waitress and she was chatty with other people. I won't be back. read more

My first time here last night to celebrate my buddy's graduation. Service - it was pretty good, the lady helping us was very helpful and always smiling. Very helpful and patient. Environment - it's a pub so you get that vibe. They got the games going on and the bar. The only thing i would say is that they probably need some type of blinds for their windows, cuz if you're sitting by it and the sun is on that direction it sucks. Food - nothing crazy special but they were pretty good. Great sized servings and priced fairly. I would say that their giant pretzel is amazing. Probably the best i'd have. I recommend trying that on your first go around. Definitely would give a go again. Maybe try another item on their menu. *COVID* for covid precautions, i don't think they're doing much about it. When we first came in server wasn't wearing a mask when we first came in, maybe when there were a bit more people then she wore one. They do have some seats crossed out for social distancing. No sanitation of tables though, we saw them bus a table and no disinfectant was sprayed on chair or table. Just a wet cloth i presume. read more

I really, really wanted to like Brandon's. As an Augie student, I heard great things about their welcoming atmosphere, quality service, and solid drink specials that -- dare I say -- might soon out-compete the District because it cuts out the outdoor pilgrimage of the bus. You can tell as soon as you open their menu that Brandon's cares about their image to the college crowd: the menu's colors are blue and yellow, multiple dishes reference the school just down 7th Ave (e.g. Viking Burger and Augie Gold wing sauce), and there's even a "Viking Challenge" to eat a giant meal in 30 minutes. The interior is modern, with high-top benches and metal panels that gave the place a sleek vibe. Where Legend's clung to the past, Brandon's embraced updates to their college audience's changing future. The only negative (although it was a substantial one) I had about this place was its service. It was this past Sunday at 5 p.m. when a friend and I walked into Brandon's, hopeful that it would be a good experience. ... But we still had yet to be served after 45 minutes of waiting and chewing on an appetizer that the waitress got wrong and then corrected after another 15 minutes of waiting. When we finally were given our orders (two burgers), mine was fully burned through, yet doused in sauces to mask the burned taste. Let me tell you, there was no masking that. This was no "smoky, char-broiled burger." It was burnt, but I was too hungry and too short on time to waste another 45 minutes to be served the meal I expected (i.e. one that wasn't burned) and left after paying instead. read more

The establishment is greasy, service was mediocre and wait time for food is horrible especially since the food wasn't all that great!

Overall a great experience, our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The wings were very good and the atmosphere was awesome. We will definitely be coming back for more. read more

Me and my high school friends went for lunch on Saturday, May 15th. We hemmed and hawed over the menu for quite some time. Then our waitress informed us there is a limited menu with only burgers and wings. Why on earth she didn't tell us when handing out menus was beyond odd. Most of the group had to change gears. Luckily I had already decided on wings. Thank goodness they have a decent beer selection! Amber beers still rule! We all agree the prices are too high for a neighborhood bar/restaurant. read more

OMG! I was here when Brandon's first opened. I don't know what happened to it but its not good. Ordered the breaded mushrooms and they came out cold. I would have told our waitress; but we never saw her again! 25 minutes later and not even a check on us! The manager was sitting in the corner playing the slot machines. I've gone twice now, once for dinner and once for lunch, and the service has been slooooow. The food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. The first time I tried their wings and the second visit I tried their buffalo chicken wrap. Meh. As there aren't many options in Rock Island, I'll probably be back. We stopped in for a bite and must say the mushroom Swiss burger was delicious and the fried pickles were a tasty treat- Great food !

Server was not able to tell us the draft menu with any level of confidence. Also could not tell us whether there were any drink specials...went to the bar to check, came back to our table and told us there were no drink specials. Later we noticed the card on our table mentioned happy hour specials Monday-Thursday (this was a Wednesday). So even after checking at the bar she still relayed wrong info to us. We both had the 3 cheese and tomato panini with fries...so bland, no flavor, cheese not completely melted. Fries crinkle cut from frozen, also no flavor. Took forever to get our bill, then neither server nor bartender was able to split the tab onto two cards...we waited another long while as they tried to ring things up. When we had questions about our totals, they could not produce an itemized receipt upon request. When I brought my concerns to the bartender, he was argumentative and had an excuse for everything. He said the draft menu changes too frequently for servers to be able to recite it. Food menu is completely generic and many items seem to come straight from the freezer. 100% would not recommend. read more
