I am quite familiar with the concept of insurance, by the way, as my mother worked in a chiropractic clinic for years.** Left this facility sobbing after my bill was $180 higher than initially quoted. Over the phone when I made the appointment I was told it would cost $40. X-rays were taken without me being told that that would cost extra. I feel scammed and after explaining this to the young-looking doctor, (Dr. Thompson?) he was rude to my boyfriend and I. This will hopefully be covered by my insurance, but the doctor needs to be asking permission before performing X-rays if they will cost extra. I have a bad feeling after visiting this facility as the visit came off as incredibly shady. After all this I was told I'd need to come back again to see the X-ray and give my insurance info, but I don't ever want to come back after this. I was able to provide my insurance info finally, but this place gives me a terrible feeling and I would NOT recommend coming here- they will try to scam you for more money.

But I literally drive down from Chicago a couple times a year to have an adjustment because after almost 20 years in Chicago I still haven't found someone as good as Dr. Melby. My take is that his appointments are super short not just to maximize profits but to see as many people as possible - help as many as possible - while still maintaining an incredible work/life balance for his family. Dr. Melby and his staff were kind and incredibly patient with her, as she is typically very timid in a healthcare setting. We decided on a treatment plan after discussing options and my daughter has since completed her treatment plan and will go to appointments on a more "as needed" basis. Over the course of her treatment, my daughter became very comfortable in the office and we have noticed changes in her stability of movement among other things since being adjusted. While my daughter was starting her treatment plan, I decided that I wanted to get evaluated, as well, to see if Dr. Melby could help with chronic pain I suffered with in my neck and back. I am currently still working through the treatment plan Dr. Melby put together for me. However, I have felt like a completely different person since being adjusted. My pain is much more minimal, almost to the point of being completely absent at most times. All of that being said, Dr. Melby and his staff are absolutely amazing and very personable. Although I do not need the physical therapy, I felt reassured that there would be some soft tissue work before actual spinal manipulation would occur. I've had it done without soft tissue massage and muscle stretching, and there is no comparison. Hands down, spinal manipulation requires some massage in order for the muscle release to allow the vertebrae to be manipulated back into place. There are different spaces in the clinic dedicated to physical therapy and rehabilitation. Jason was reassuring and meticulous to detail. While stretched out on one of the adjustable exam tables, he was able to feel out the tension points along my spine. After some soft tissue work, he manipulated my mid and upper back into shape. Since my muscles were inflamed from chronic misalignment, he stretched out the neck muscles after the vertebrae were back in place. I was very pleased.

Despite this, they left me completely in the dark about my application, even though I had asked several times over the course of a month if they were still considering me. Every time I had called, they had assured me that they would call me back the following day or so, and there was not one time they had given me a call. I finally walked in one day to ask if they had been receiving my calls or the notes fellow staff members left at the front desk to call me back, but their GM said their "interviewer is in Peoria and won't be back for a week or so, but he knows you are interested in the job, we will give you a call when he is back." I never got a call. I had called a few times the following week, and left a voice mail. Finally, the last time I called, someone answered the phone and told me that they will call me that evening because, "The manager works in the evening." ... it was the manager who picked up, I had called enough times to recognize his voice, and other staff had told me he would be working at this time "like always." Again, no call back. I would have preferred they told me they weren't considering me, but instead, they lead me on for weeks and failed to just be up front. Their lack of communication is atrocious, and it amplifies how truly unprofessional their staff is, especially their manager, Taylor.
