Service manager Ron was rude and condescending to me unprovoked when I went to my service appointment. He's been rude/needlessly short with me in the past also. It seems like he is miserable to be working there. When I purchased from this dealership 2 years ago, it included a number of oil changes. I had one oil change left. I asked the lady on the phone who booked my appointment, if my last oil change credit would be applied during this visit. She confirmed yes. When I arrived and saw Ron, I asked him about my oil change credit before leaving my vehicle. He told me that my oil change was treated like an 'extended warranty' and it expired in April and there's nothing he can do about it. I remained polite and let him know that the lady who booked my appointment had said it would be applied. also explained that I was not well and wasn't able to use my vehicle at that time. (My mileage was also way under what was posted on the sticker for my service appointment, but I do understand the recommended date for my next oil change had passed). He remained firmly telling me no while having a smug expression and then most shocking of all: he told me "that it has to be paid for or HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT which he isn't going to do." I just looked at him. I did not react though I wished I spoke up and had told him how rude, condescending and unnecessary that comment was. I have no problems paying for my car or anything else concerning me. I would never expect Ron to even pay for a bottle of water for me. Why he phrased it like that, as if I expected it to come out of his paycheque is beyond me. Afterwards, he said "the company would have to pay for it and he's not going to do that." Again, I never asked for the company, him, Nissan Canada, etc. to pay for anything for me. I bought additional protection and warranties, and of course it was disappointing that after being a great repeat customer here, it was so easy to say no we will not help you with the oil change that's rightfully yours and throw that in your face. I was informed my air filter needed replacing during the inspection and I declined to do it, as I will not give this location a dime more of my business. Shameful and I should've bought my vehicles elsewhere. I will gladly go elsewhere for my maintenance needs. Upon picking up my vehicle, a service advisor helped me to check out as Ron was busy with another customer. I was frankly relieved not to have to interact with him again. The service advisor was courteous. He explained that the car wash was broken (of course) and attached a complementary car wash ticket for next time. I am not comfortable coming back to this location and should have asked him to keep the ticket for another customer. I don't need the free car wash for any time. However, he asked me to give Ron a 10 on his review, and was serious in telling me to give him a 10 that would be great thanks. It's unprofessional, you should allow your customers to choose for themselves. It is not appropriate to let people know in advance to give them a 10. That wasn't a great ending to my poor visit. My coworker even offered to accompany me to pick up my vehicle when it was ready, but I shouldn't need accompanying when going to a service appointment and went back alone. Service appointments shouldn't be so uncomfortable that we need someone there with us. What a shame that Ron is an assistant manager for the department. Huge miss on Nissan Plaza when your workers are very comfortable belittling and showing arrogance to your polite customers who don't raise a fuss. I would certainly recommend others DO NOT come here to this location. Buy elsewhere and get your maintenance work done elsewhere.

Was traveling from the US for my daughter's hockey tournament when we discovered that the rear…read morecenter passenger lap belt had become unanchored somewhere underneath/behind the seats. Stopped in on a longshot that they might be able to help on short notice. After explaining the situation, the service counter checked with a mechanic who took a quick look in between scheduled appointments - they were able to fix the problem in about 15 min and got us to our hockey game in time! They did a half-baked job of repairing a faulty sunroof switch, I had to go back and get it fixed again. When I asked them to fix a faulty driver's side windows switch, they came up with a whole rigamarole about how there is a rat's nest under my hood and chewed wiring wouldn't be covered under warranty. It turned out to just be some maple keys that fell off my tree and went through the windscreen cowl. I don't intend to return.

THIEVES...DO NOT COME HERE…read more SHORT VERSION: Tried to mislead me into a bill for $220 + in "repairs" when the actual fix costed $6, and 90 seconds of the teenaged employee's time at PartSource. LONG VERSION: Bought a car privately a few weeks ago and was told I needed to get a few recalls done. Brought it into this dealer, and also thought I'd mention a couple small problem I'd been having....one of the headlights didn''t work, and the car's USB charger wasn't working for my phone. After some initial googling, I told them my suspicions of a possible burnt fuse. (A $3 part to replace)....but instead, Ben Koerssen brushed it off, and told me I needed a complete electrical diagnostic. Being that they are a Dodge dealership, I innocently decided to trust them and went ahead with it. A few hours later, I recieved a call saying that there was nothing wrong with the fuses, and they had tried to install the bulb that I brought in, to no avail. (I bought it on amazon)..,...and they needed to do further diagnostics which costed even more......Reluctantly, I complied, but I had a bad gut feeling and decided to call my car-wise friends. They all told me that something didn't seem to add up. Realizing that something might have been wrong, I rushed over there and demanded my car back. During my conversation with the service staff, my suspicions were heightened when the service advisor, Ben, claimed no knowledge whatsoever of there being a fuse box. (and this being their flagship sedan) Sensing disingenuity, I demanded that I get my car back at that moment. Ben Koerssen and later the owner Bill Johnston, tried to present me with a bill totalling $220 for the diagnostic work. I refused to pay and went back and forth with them for some time before they realized that they were never going to see a dime from me.....and gave me my keys and told me to get out......Had I stayed, who knows how high that bill could have been. (The $220 was just for diagnosing it) I drove it down the street to PartSource where this 19/20-year old kid immediately helped me identify and replace the 2 burnt fuses within.10 mins (Shoutout to Sean from PartSource Upper James)....and BINGO, everything worked PERFECTLY....even the bulb/ballast that was supposedly "defective". Came back to Johnston Chrysler the next day.... Initially seeking a simple apology, we instead were faced with more outright lies and a lot of condescension. After being confronted with the evidence of the 2 burnt fuses and the presence of my car-savvy friend, Bill Johnston realized that he could no longer try to bully and lie his way out of this.....and immediately demanded that both me and my friend leave or he would call the police. I made sure to try to document as much as possible. Attached are pictures of the 2 burnt fuses, the business card for Ben, as well as the fraudulent service bill they tried to present me. (They wouldnt give it to me at first but I was adamant, and they also removed all the prices, which initially totalled $220) Also, I have a videoclip of an irate Bill dodging questions regarding the bill and instead demanding that we leave his dealership. (as well as trying to prevent me from filming)....which i can post if necessary, Anyways I cannot speak on the dealership as a whole, but this has just been my experience......I'm sure not everyone is bad, for instance, one of the courtesy drivers, Norm, was very courteous and seemed really down-to-earth and I really enjoyed our conversation.

Check-In was super easy and painless, rental company brought my temporary ride to me at Carstar Kieswetter, and I was in and out in under 20 minutes. Thursday, got the call that my car would be ready early in the afternoon. Again, super simple and easy pickup. Parked the rental, took a look at my car with the service manager, signed the paperwork, gave him the rental keys, got my key, and off I went. Super professional, super friendly, super easy process, all around. Will definitely be taking my cars there for body work in the future.

They agreed to reversing the charges. Before the situation with the car rental company, that I was introduced to via the dealership -- I have to say that everyone at this Mazda dealership was great to work with. Our sales rep, Rob, was very thorough explaining everything during the sale of my sons Mazda3. Original review: I would have written a 5 star review, but something just came up, that needs to be rectified first. I'm hoping it's just a misunderstanding and trusting the dealership will make things right again (at which time I'll update this review). I was helping my son with deciding on a car purchase new vs used and since I had recently purchased a new Mazda vehicle myself the month before... my son and I headed to the Mazda dealership first. We checked out a few used cars, and then I asked if we could compare pricing to similar cars that were brand new. In the end, it made more sense to just go for a new car. It was my son's birthday, and he was buying his first BRAND NEW car (and I was throwing a bit of cash his way to help out). I was visiting Canada at the time and didn't realize my sons old car wasn't on the road anymore... so partly the car purchase was being encouraged, because I didn't want to have to rent a car while down there (figured I could give my son the money saved from renting, to put towards his car). We then found out that the car wouldn't be ready for pick up, until the day before I was heading back to the States :( ... so, I asked about the dealership providing a car -- they ended up agreeing to put the car rental under my name, since my son is under 25 years, and can't rent a car. Perfect! It all worked out, and everyone was happy ;) Mazda Rep even offered to take back the car to enterprise for me. All was great ^^. UNTIL... almost 2 mths later, I get a charge of what equates to $140 Candian dollars, taken out of my bank account to Enterprise!!! (The car rental company that was supposed to be paid for by Mazda). I'm not sure what has happened -- I did get a message from Enterprise and let our sales guy know that they had called -- since Mazda was looking after the car, and has a business relationship with Enterprise. No one ever returned by call from Mazda, and I never heard from Enterprise again... until the money disappeared from my account. With the time difference and my busy schedule with kids, it's hard to connect via phone calls, and really -- I shouldn't need to -- these companies already have a working relationship. Hopefully, Mazda and Enterprise will communicate and make things right again... because I'm NOT impressed with $140 being hijacked out of my account suddenly! Other than this surprise... I really did like the service at Mazda. Hopefully, they figure out what Enterprise is up to, and get this fixed ASAP. Mazda should find a better company to do their business with, as far as car rentals go -- I wasn't impressed with the unfriendly customer service at Enterprise the day we picked up the car... ugh, and now this! :(
