Reservations at another restaurant fell through, and we were seeking something new with an available table in the next 2 hours. We hadn't been to Brasserie Bardot, but had visited other restaurants in the area. I love the idea of old mansions converted to restaurants, and this didn't disappoint. The decor was elegant while also bringing a casual feel to it. For a Saturday night at 7:00, the place was definitely not busy- but that said, it's a small place. The service was decent, possibly a bit slow. We had good company though, and we're not in a rush. All of our food, and dessert was quite good. I do find the menu lacked variety though.... I noticed that there were things in people's reviews online that were not on the current menu. Either it's a seasonal menu, or the menu used to be larger. I'm not sure. All in all, I will be back. I think sipping a wine on their patio on a hot summer day will be idyllic. read more

This place shares a parking lot with Violinos Italian Restaurant. Cute little house transitioned into a cozy, intimate restaurant. Ambiance and service were top notch, and I would definitely recommend this place for a date night. The seafood pastry is what I had, and boy was it delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp were so plump and juicy. The chocolate cake I had for dessert was very dense and chocolaty, but by the end, it was too sweet, but I finished it. Easy to find via Google Maps. I called to make reservations just incase it was busy on a Wednesday night but when we arrived it didn't look like we had need to. We found parking in the private parking lot infront of the restaurant - sooo glad I didn't have to fight downtown parking. Greeted and seated immediately upon arrival and after vaccine confirmation. Since I was driving I just had water but birthday brother got a smoked old fashioned- sooo strong. We ordered and free bread and butter was provided. Bread was amazing, fresh, crisp, little skimpy with the butter as the last slice went without. Brie appetizer was much better than expected. Larger portion to, definitely enough for 4 people. But again skimpy with the bread to eat it with. The last bites were just brie on a fork. The berry compote was lovely and very generous portion. Brothers beef cheek was excellent. Soft, able to pull apart with a fork- sooo tender. My mother got the Crêpes aux Fruit de Mer. Flavor was excellent but with all the Crêpes on half of the plate the plate looked like they forgot the side dish. Would have loved a vegetable on the side. My steak frites was not to my liking. Tons of inedible gristle I had to carve out the edible bites. Looks like a large portion but when you cut all the fat off its definitely half the size. White asparagus was fine. Cooked well but very little seasoning. Fries were great, flavorful, hot, crisp. Creme brule was great. Exactly what I expected. Free chocolate cake was a lovely thought. It was moist and delicious. Waitress checked in on us regularly and my water glass stayed full. Overall a fun experience but sadly some of the food wasn't up to what I expected. read more

We decided to eat here to celebrate my husband's new job. It is a little pricey for our budget but we thought we could treat ourselves. Everything was wonderful. They share a parking lot with Violino which is fine but it was full and it was strange with only two other couples inside. We parked on the street. Inside it was beautiful. Classic and comfortable without being snooty. A great place to chat and have wine. They also have a wonderful balcony so we will hit this in the summer months. Classic French menu. Looks lovely. Also pricey for some things. However, we decided on one cheaper meal and one more pricey one. Hubby chose the Bardot Burger for $21.99 - House-made ground beef patty, gruyère cheese, house sauce, mustard, candied bacon, lettuce, tomato, and parmesan truffle fries. I went with the higher price menu item Poitrine de Canard $39.99 Pan seared sous vide duck breast, corn cognac puree, crispy fingerling hash, duck jus. I love escargot so I couldn't resist the D'Escargot Wellington $19.99 Snail, bacon, mushroom duxelle, puff pastry, petit greens & bordelaise. Cocktails looked good but we already spent enough so we stuck with water. Our server was amazing. Emma was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu and prompt. My water glass was always full. She checked on us often. And like some other places that are higher end, didn't scoff when we didn't order alcohol. She was lovely. Food came out promply. The complementary bread with red pepper butter was a nice addition. Loved the escargot. Puff pastry was tender, and I loved that you could taste the escargot and it wasn't shoved in broiled cheese and mushroom caps. The escargot was cooked really well and the bordelaise sauce was lovely. I also loved that when I wasn't sure what to do with bordelaise sauce our server explained it nicely instead of rolling her eyes like a lot of servers do. The escarcot was cooked beautifully and probably the best escargot I have eaten (including in France). The sous vide duck breast was cooked perfectly. Beautifully presented. Lovely sides. I love when the veggies are not an afterthought,. The brussel sprouts were so good. A little bite of veggies, sauce, and duck and it was musical in my mouth. However the big winner was the burger. My husband loves burger. We have tried to find the best burger in Edmonton. This is it. And for 21 bucks a steal of deal. First of all tonnes of meat, which was the best way for my husband to celebrate his job. Everything was fresh and worked well. And I LOVED his truffle fries. Tomato best 100 voted The Marc as best Truffle fries. Sorry. Nope. These were so much better. Even though were were too full for dessert, they brought out a complementary Crème Brûlée. What a lovely touch. Would love to come back here. And would love to try a tasting menu from them. read more

Booked a reservation on OpenTable. Arrived on time and was seated in a large room with no other guests. Waitress brought water and never came back. After 25 minutes, we left. I was unable to cancel our reservation on OpenTable because the restaurant confirmed we arrived. Nonetheless, the restaurant changed the reservation status to no-show. Had the restaurant left the status alone, I would not have written this review, but instead I had the aggravation of having to correct their attempt to deny the reservation. read more

Hmmmmmmmmm. Popped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated promptly in a nearly empty restaurant. Its interesting on the inside, in an old 1900s house furnished with garden furniture kind of way. Service was efficient, but a bit.....cold? I found the lunch menu to be a bit samey with not a tonne of variety. Both my wife and I ordered a quiche, mine the spinach and blue cheese that came with a salad and roasted potatoes, so a rather big portion of food. The quiche was hot and pretty tasty, but the crust tasted like it was store bought, salad was rather plain and the taters were a smidge underdone. Not sure if I'd go back for brunch, I may, if I'm in the area, go back for dinner to try some of the other menu options. read more

After a not so glowing review of The Manor from back in the day, I was really excited to try the new restaurant that moved in to that location. Brasserie Bardot is a true French style bistro with a strong Bridgette Bardot theme. The bones of the place are exactly the same, but it's just much cleaner and brighter. I started out with wings a L'orange which were awesome. Really rich glaze, kind of sweet but not too much so, and still nice and crispy. Huge portion too, like 12 wings to an order. My gf had the nicosie salad with the absolute best piece of tuna either of us had ever tried. The salad itself wasn't my thing but the tuna steak...my lord. Definitely worth the trip all on its own. Seasoned with just salt and pepper but cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. For mains I had the Ribeye which was cooked well but honestly was pretty mediocre, the bernaise sauce it came with was very solid though. Gf had the Sole meunière with brown butter sauce. Just delicious!! Amazing sauce perfect cook on the fish. Amazing. Finished off with a creme brûlée that was a great way to end our meal. Creamy and delicious. They have an outstanding wine list with plenty of affordable options both French and otherwise. Service was awesome as well. We had a lovely girl who was very knowledgeable with both the menu and wine list. I don't know if we ever had to fill our own glasses of water or wine. Such a beautiful experience we had at Brasserie Bardot. It was my 40th birthday and without even asking, we were seated in a semi private area. I absolutely love the older building and all the unique vintage features it has. Our server was delightful. Friendly and very sweet. The food was lovely. I personally enjoyed my French onion soup very much. It does have a smoky flavour which made it different from others and so much gooey cheese which I loved. The truffle fries were addictive. My main was the seafood platter which had a lovely amount of various seafood. My husband's ribeye was so tender he could cut it with a fork. All of our meals were different and the only one who didn't live theirs had the paparadelle. Creme brûlée dessert was so good and I even received a parfait on the house for my birthday. The drink selection did seem a bit limited but we had a couple bottles of a beautiful, crisp rose that was perfect for celebrating. The outdoor patio is truly gorgeous. We didn't sit outside but I can't wait to go back for a glass of wine and an appy to enjoy it. We are lucky to have such a gorgeous establishment in Edmonton. read more

We had a rare date night without the kid, but because it was Valentine's Day weekend, resos were pretty tough to come by. Came across Brasserie Bardot, which piqued our interest because it is located where the old Manor Cafe used to be. I've always loved that location and ambiance of the old house, so really wanted to check it out. The menu has some standard and not so standard French fare. I ordered the d'escargot Wellington (escargot baked in phyllo pastry), the Brie en croute (also baked in phyllo), the chateaubriand for my main, and a Black Forest cake for dessert. The appetizers were delicious and the steak was pretty decent, though I felt at the price they were charging, the meat wasn't quite as tender as I hoped. The staff here are exceptional, especially Adrian! I love the ambiance now that it has been renovated. It is cozy but also bright and cheerful. Every dish I have had here has been delicious. The cheese fondue, green salad, tenderloin and vegetable pastry are my favourites. When my husband and I are not across the way at Violino, we will be here. I would strongly recommend Brasserie Bardot for a date night or a glass of wine and some share plates with friends. So good!!! I can't wait for patio season here! read more

We have been going to Brasserie Bardot since it's untimely opening at the beginning of covid. We have had nothing but exemplary service and fantastic cuisine. The decorum/renovation is outstanding, rising from the ashes of the deteriorating previous restaurant Manor Cafe. We've been there for breakfast lunch and diner. The salmon benedict, chicken cordon bleu, onion soup, the caesar salad is divine, the steak frites fantastic, and the burger is one of the best I have ever had. The new chef recently hired is of the same standard as the previous, and the new hostess and her over the top Bridget Bardot inspired cocktails list is insanely fabulous. This is one of those places that once you go, you won't stop, and a beautiful romantic location is an understatement. People really need to know about this place. read more
