Only meat for hot pot. No steaks, chicken, roasts. Website misleading. I cant say how the meat is since I dont cook hot pot style.

They are much hyped for monstrous, incredibly layered over-the-top sandwiches with proprietary, house-made marinades, jerky varieties, and custom-smoked meats. Which may explain the lines, long waits, and lack of tables, not in a complainy way. Surprised at myself for not going earlier (the constant Instragram reels adding up), I had to go before I ended my tenth year in San Jose. I got the gutbusting Quad (pastrami, pulled pork, tri-tip, bacon, on a fresh Dutch Crunch). It was too big to eat as a sandwich- it was something you had to manage and attack. Truth is, I couldn't detect the pastrami because it was slathered in tender, lean, bbq meat, nor could I detect the bacon until the sandwich "thinned out" to normal human consumption size, meaning that I ate the meat out through the edges or the contents fell out. It's call quad because you need four napkins per bite.

Both were yummy. When I revisit I'm going to ask for light bbq sauce. My son and I enjoyed our sandwiches but we both commented that they were sauce heavy and lighter spread would've exposed more flavor from the meat. Service was helpful and quick. We were attended to within seconds of arriving. They also have a great selection of smoked sausages and meats. Worth checking out before your next backyard bbq.

My family and I eat a lot of meat and chicken and we have friends over for barbecuing all the time. The steaks are prime, thick, and free of hormones and they're grass-fed. The taste of the meat is heavenly. I eat at Vic Stewart's and Ruth's Chris occasionally and their steaks are not even close to these steaks from Z-Best. And the cost for the steaks is cheaper than Costco and these guys have free delivery. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. Whenever I need more stuff, I call them up and they deliver the same day.

It looked really nice in it's packaging and is nicely cut and thick. The chicken was of course free-range, from petaluma and the best available. Also packaged really nicely and some pre-marinated. He offered what seemed to be an amazing deal, but reality is it's way overpriced. By the time you actually do the per pound math it's outrageous! And....once you eat it you know for sure it's not grassfed or free-range!! I've ordered grassfed beef directly from a ranch in San Juan Bautista and it had a different taste and texture than the beef you can buy at the store. The beef from z-best didn't even compare. That being said the beef was good, it just was not worth the price I thought I was paying for grassfed beef. The chicken...we tried the lemon-herb marinated chicken and couldn't even eat it. The texture was just weird!! We also tried the Chicken Cordon Bleu it just tasted totally processed and unnatural. I find it extremely odd that they never happen to have brochures on hand and have zero information available on the web. I would expect they would have a website with more information on their "high quality" meat!! I'm extremely disappointed and will not be buying from them again. I feel like I was scammed.
