For the past 10 months I've taken fitness classes at Title Boxing of Lakewood - and I love it…read more Both boxing and kickboxing workouts are phenomenal - although personally I've definitely leaned more towards boxing. The instructors are all great, so it really just depends on your schedule. From day 1, coaches and students alike have been super welcoming, highly encouraging, and fun to get to know. It is a great community feel, and I wish I had more time for more classes. First class is free to checkout, and you'll need to buy wraps for $10 or bring your own. Instructors: Starting with Coach Jason, whose workouts against the bag, and also box & lift, introduced me to the basics of boxing and also sweating intensely. Early on, Jason took me through some 1-on-1 classes which were really worth it, and I feel definitely started me off right. His knowledge of other styles in the fighting arts, and his explanations for the 'how', 'what', and 'why' in boxing also helped me get away from some old TKD habits. Jason definitely wins the crack of dawn award, as well as the toughest ab workout award. Another great feature of Jason's classes is his brief and inspiring motivational speeches. I take Box & Lift classes with Coach Stacy whenever I can. The boxing workouts are still intense but slightly shorter to make time for the lifting part. Stacy's training background means she has a really deep knowledge in the mechanics of proper strength training. Her explanations have helped me a lot in working on proper form even when exhausted, and I feel I've definitely gotten stronger and have better form thanks to Stacy. I'm also a big fan of Coach EZ's Sunday morning boxing class. He really brings the energy and it totally fires up the entire class. I appreciate his technical pointers, and he was also really engaging and helpful when I brought my son a few times. Alex and Nick are great instructors too but I've just had less classes with them based on schedule. The main thing is that you just cannot beat everyone's passion and the quality of the workouts. My best decision in 2024 = Highly recommend.

You never know how you discover your hidden talent or passion. When I saw this Elite event pop up…read morein Elite Squad, my first impression was, "Oh, no, this is so not me!" But after a few seconds later, I was like, "But what if I like it?" That tiny amount of curiosity pushed me to sign up while I was still hoping that I would not get in (LOL!!) While I was driving to get to the place, I was still nervous. Doubting myself heavily, I reluctantly dragged myself into the studio. AND THE REST IS HISTORY! Did I like it? No, I LOVED it! I had never thought kickboxing was this satisfying! Yeah, I used to work out at the gym having a personal trainer and all that but ever since I quit it, my middle-aged body had been rotting in my hell-like home office chair for my day job. I guess I was looking for a way to get out of the unhealthy lifestyle I had kept for years so today's session at Kickhouse became my wake-up call that I had waited for so many years. The instructors, Casey (hopefully I spelled it correctly) and Mike (I believe) were so engaging (you guys were awesome!!) And they weren't intimidating; they uplifted us mentally (not just physically.) Their contagious energy got us going and the 45-minute session flew by like the Japanese bullet train! I wish the session was a bit longer was the only complaint I could think of (well, I'm not really complaining!) I know I will be sore tomorrow. But it will be a joyful sore. A BIG "THANK YOU" to Yelp for organizing this wonderful event tonight!! Being part of this Yelp community is not all about food; it's about being physical as well! I'm totally sold for kickboxing; I'm HOOKED!!

I found them on Facebook. It was a challenge posting. I've been trying to figure out how to get…read moremyself back to the gym as I've never really been a "gym" person. I feel awkward, self-conscience and overall lost in a gym. I've tried the classes and being uncoordinated they proved to be even better at embarrassing myself in. I decided to give this a shot. As scared out of my mind as I was of all the above things, I walked through the door ready to listen. I sat down with Casey and had a talk about me, what I wanted and needed...that let someone in kind of talk. After some thought I decided to take the leap and give it a chance. I started with a class the next day. I felt like the new kid on the first day of school. I sat in the parking lot for a while before building the courage to actually walk through the door. One of those..the first step is actually showing up moments. I was excitedly greeted by Casey and because it was my first session one of the other coaches (Mike ) was my personal instructor for the day. Nope..no separate room..he just hung in my orbit after showing me how to stand and make contact as to not injure myself. He would come back and give me a few tips and form corrections as needed as well. I am proud to say by the end of the 45 mins I was still standing. Nope I can't do everything that the others can do but with few modifications and encouragement I will get there in time. Pros for me: I don't feel like the eyes of the world are watching me. No one is waiting around and glaring at me to get off a machine because I'm holding them up. No weird locker room experiences. Pros+ I've started to meet some new people who actually seem glad to see me. I don't feel awkward as beginner as I am with things. I've taken a big step in building my own strength. I'm started to feel a bit more coordinated. I got a cool new pair of boxing gloves. Check them out, you may discover something that scared you...you actually enjoy

People there are friendly and welcoming but still serious about getting better, they take their training seriously but it's a relaxed vibe. The instructors are wonderful, very professional yet personable. High level techniques being shared here. With soo much experience on the mats you have lots of different Jiu-Jitsu styles to choose from. The amenities are exceptional. Nice clean bathrooms, changing rooms and showers. The front desk people are always smiling and helpful when you come in the door. While I haven't gotten to train the striking classes as I primarily train Jiu-Jitsu , they look like a lot of fun and they are training very hard with solid technique. They have lots of quality mat spaces for grappling and striking as well as workout equipment. There are many classes for people to choose from. Giving the most flexibility I have ever seen at a gym. Add in the elevation and the location of a beautiful mountain city, this is one of the best places to train in the country. I highly recommend the gym.
