You never know how you discover your hidden talent or passion. When I saw this Elite event pop up…read morein Elite Squad, my first impression was, "Oh, no, this is so not me!" But after a few seconds later, I was like, "But what if I like it?" That tiny amount of curiosity pushed me to sign up while I was still hoping that I would not get in (LOL!!) While I was driving to get to the place, I was still nervous. Doubting myself heavily, I reluctantly dragged myself into the studio. AND THE REST IS HISTORY! Did I like it? No, I LOVED it! I had never thought kickboxing was this satisfying! Yeah, I used to work out at the gym having a personal trainer and all that but ever since I quit it, my middle-aged body had been rotting in my hell-like home office chair for my day job. I guess I was looking for a way to get out of the unhealthy lifestyle I had kept for years so today's session at Kickhouse became my wake-up call that I had waited for so many years. The instructors, Casey (hopefully I spelled it correctly) and Mike (I believe) were so engaging (you guys were awesome!!) And they weren't intimidating; they uplifted us mentally (not just physically.) Their contagious energy got us going and the 45-minute session flew by like the Japanese bullet train! I wish the session was a bit longer was the only complaint I could think of (well, I'm not really complaining!) I know I will be sore tomorrow. But it will be a joyful sore. A BIG "THANK YOU" to Yelp for organizing this wonderful event tonight!! Being part of this Yelp community is not all about food; it's about being physical as well! I'm totally sold for kickboxing; I'm HOOKED!!

I found them on Facebook. It was a challenge posting. I've been trying to figure out how to get…read moremyself back to the gym as I've never really been a "gym" person. I feel awkward, self-conscience and overall lost in a gym. I've tried the classes and being uncoordinated they proved to be even better at embarrassing myself in. I decided to give this a shot. As scared out of my mind as I was of all the above things, I walked through the door ready to listen. I sat down with Casey and had a talk about me, what I wanted and needed...that let someone in kind of talk. After some thought I decided to take the leap and give it a chance. I started with a class the next day. I felt like the new kid on the first day of school. I sat in the parking lot for a while before building the courage to actually walk through the door. One of those..the first step is actually showing up moments. I was excitedly greeted by Casey and because it was my first session one of the other coaches (Mike ) was my personal instructor for the day. Nope..no separate room..he just hung in my orbit after showing me how to stand and make contact as to not injure myself. He would come back and give me a few tips and form corrections as needed as well. I am proud to say by the end of the 45 mins I was still standing. Nope I can't do everything that the others can do but with few modifications and encouragement I will get there in time. Pros for me: I don't feel like the eyes of the world are watching me. No one is waiting around and glaring at me to get off a machine because I'm holding them up. No weird locker room experiences. Pros+ I've started to meet some new people who actually seem glad to see me. I don't feel awkward as beginner as I am with things. I've taken a big step in building my own strength. I'm started to feel a bit more coordinated. I got a cool new pair of boxing gloves. Check them out, you may discover something that scared you...you actually enjoy

Which ok fine....BUT then after you finish your one on one is when the EXTREME sales pitch starts, I specifically told them I wanted to try the 10 classes because there was only 1 class time I could make and wanted to see if it was possible for me to get up that early multiple times a week. Instead I was pushed and pushed into a membership....and of course only ever made it to like 3 classes. And I might add that those situations make me very uncomfortable and give me terrible anxiety so I just always give in. I instantly regretted signing up for any kind of membership before even getting to try out a real class. FAST FORWARD.... I asked to cancel because I just couldn't make it or afford it they make it EXTREMELY difficult to cancel. I had wrote them saying I could not afford it and they come back with ok pay $50 dollars more than you can already not afford and by the way we need 30 days notice so we are going to charge your account again for the $150 membership you don't ever use! All in all there are much CHEAPER gyms out there with TONS of classes and ZERO pushy sale pitches! Save your money and don't get tricked with the "good deal" they try to offer you!

People there are friendly and welcoming but still serious about getting better, they take their training seriously but it's a relaxed vibe. The instructors are wonderful, very professional yet personable. High level techniques being shared here. With soo much experience on the mats you have lots of different Jiu-Jitsu styles to choose from. The amenities are exceptional. Nice clean bathrooms, changing rooms and showers. The front desk people are always smiling and helpful when you come in the door. While I haven't gotten to train the striking classes as I primarily train Jiu-Jitsu , they look like a lot of fun and they are training very hard with solid technique. They have lots of quality mat spaces for grappling and striking as well as workout equipment. There are many classes for people to choose from. Giving the most flexibility I have ever seen at a gym. Add in the elevation and the location of a beautiful mountain city, this is one of the best places to train in the country. I highly recommend the gym.

I could see our kids building confidence, even as beginners to these martial arts. I know "jiu jitsu" and "kickboxing" might be intimidating terms, but we found Easton is a place people come to improve themselves and experience community. I think every "trash can" needs to be labeled landfill so folks think about where waste goes and why recycling (or using less) is important

I want to say this place is not for everyone but not in a bad way. Let me explain. At warrior, you will be pushed no matter your skill level. Beginner? They will tailor a workout or technique to you and expect as much from you as one of the Muay Thai fighters or purple belt BJJ guys/gals. The coaches genuinely care about you. Coach Angie, Coach Larry and Coach Noel are the best martial arts teachers I have had and I have trained at a few other gyms. They are experienced (with many professional fights under their own belt) and they are able to pass that knowledge on. But once again, you will be pushed. You will want to quit. Did you just do an hour of high intensity kickboxing? Awesome but guess what? There will be cardio at the end. It is hard because they want you to succeed and Warrior FC and the Warrior Family is not about mediocrity. They want you to be the best. Period. I have made amazing friends here, friends that will drive 2-3 hours to watch you fight, then hangout with you and eat pizza in the middle of the night so you can celebrate your finished weight cut. I would jump in the ring against pretty much anyone if my coaches said "we have a game plan". Maybe I drank the kool aid, but from experience you will not regret coming here. It will show you lots about yourself, you will meet amazing people (from the fighters to more casual goers, everyone is friendly and helpful), and you will get in shape and learn self defense. Give it a try. Trust me. Last brag on credentials- our team went to the Muay Thai tournament in Denver and brought home 8 state champions from 10 fighters. In BJJ, Coach Larry just had multiple winners at the neon belly tournament and Warrior represented at the US nationals with multiple medals (our ground karate is strong hahahah)

My keikis have been going here for over a year now and they love it! We went for BJJ and they are now doing Muay Thai as well and loved it!!! They have good membership options and are very military-friendly. They also let you try it for a week before you decide if you want to do it or not. I guarantee that you will commit after the week! They are very welcoming and the coaches are amazing! My kids have done competitions and want to sign up for more. They also have a fundamental BJJ class on Saturday for both adults and kids. A great way for the kiddos to learn in a different environment. Try them out and make them your new gym Ohana! You won't be disappointed!
