PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: BEWARE OF MILLER ROOFING SOLUTIONS LLC…read more I am writing this review because I personally witnessed much of what happened during my mother's roofing project with Miller Roofing Solutions LLC, and I believe homeowners deserve to know what we experienced before hiring this company. Up until the roofing work actually began, my mother had a decent experience communicating with the company representative, Ray. She was told her roof would be completed in one day and that her property would be protected during the work. That is not what happened. WHAT I PERSONALLY WITNESSED Friday: Only two workers arrived, and only part of the roof was completed. We were told the remaining crew had been diverted to another job. We had also been told that a site manager would be overseeing the project and checking in when the workers arrived. Instead, my mother was alerted to people walking on her roof at 6:45 a.m. At one point, we were told the site manager was at Home Depot and would return. We later learned he wasn't even in town -- and subsequently learned that he was not actually a site manager for Miller Roofing Solutions. The subcontractors working at the house did not speak English, and there was no Miller representative there to consistently communicate with my mother or supervise the work. We were fortunate that the girlfriend of one of the workers happened to be there and could provide some translation assistance. I also personally witnessed roofing materials and tiles being discarded over landscaping and planting areas. Plants were crushed. Exterior landscape lighting was damaged. Roofing nails and debris were left throughout the planting beds and grass. My mother has a dog, so leaving nails throughout the grass was particularly dangerous. Saturday: Three workers were present. It was extremely hot, so I personally put up a tent so the workers would have shade. Later that day, a torrential storm with lightning and extremely strong winds blew the tent over. My mother allowed the workers into her garage so they could get out of the storm. There was also water damage in her living room and dining room as a result of the work. Sunday: No one showed up. Monday: Only one worker initially arrived. During the work, he was injured with a nail gun. I personally saw the blood on his shirt. He did not have a first-aid kit available, and I went into the house to get bandages and bandaged his hand. That experience was deeply disturbing to me. Regardless of whether someone is an employee or a subcontractor, people working on a job deserve basic safety precautions and access to first aid when they are injured. Later that day, Kevin, one of the business owners and Ray's father, came to pick up the dumpster. When I attempted to speak with him about what was happening, he refused to talk with me because I was not willing to listen to him tell my mother that she had no right to expect what had been promised. Meanwhile, there was still no consistent Miller Roofing Solutions representative or site manager supervising the work. My mother has repeatedly contacted Kevin and Ray by phone, text, and written correspondence about these problems. Her most recent correspondence has gone unanswered. THIS IS NOT JUST ABOUT A ROOF Yes, there were problems with the project timeline. Yes, there were problems with communication. Yes, there was property damage and debris left around the property. But what concerns me most is the combination of lack of supervision, lack of communication, inadequate protection of the homeowner's property, and what I personally witnessed regarding the injured worker. I understand that weather happens. I understand that staffing problems happen. Construction projects don't always go according to plan. What I don't accept is a situation where the homeowner is left trying to figure out what is happening, property is damaged, hazardous debris is left behind, and an injured worker is bleeding while I am the person providing the bandages. We have documented the situation with photographs, communications, and records of the condition of the property. If you're considering Miller Roofing Solutions, I strongly recommend asking exactly who will supervise your project, who will be present every day, how your property will be protected, how communication will be handled, and what safety procedures are in place for the workers. I also recommend looking beyond star ratings and actually talking to people who have had work performed by the company. I strongly urge homeowners to think very carefully before hiring Miller Roofing Solutions LLC. People deserve better -- homeowners AND the people doing the work. Please do your research. Ask questions. Protect your home. And pay attention to how a company treats the people working for them.

We decided to go with Hardie board lap siding, and to our amazement, RFM Siding came in with the lowest estimate, as well as the most positive attitude.  They are a joy to work with.   In addition to the estimate, Fatima gave us an overview of how the work would be completed and the timetable for each part.  She also broke down the estimate into each area of work/labor.  We knew how much we were spending for materials and labor for each phase of the project.  Fatima is an excellent project manager, and always ready to answer questions or attend to any concerns you may have. She researched and found us exactly what we wanted and needed. Overall, we had our entire home resided from T1-11 to Hardee lap, soffits and fascia were rebuilt with Hardee as well, and the entire home (two story) was caulked and painted with Super Paint by Sherwin Williams, which has a very long life.  Fatima researched and found us exactly what we needed to meet our goals.  Renato is amazing.  You could say he has skills, but we say he has a gift.  This work comes so naturally to him and you can see it in his attitude, his knowledge and eye for what will look best, and even his perfect cuts!  One of the amazing details, the lap siding meets exactly the same at each corner (10 each). I've seen houses with mismatched corners, but Renato made each exactly as they should. We trusted his opinion and he never led us wrong.  Renato worked closely with his co-worker Cleugiannie (pronounced Clu-gee-ahn-nee). They are totally in sync, worked hard as a team and enabled us to see progress on our home daily. They looked for mistakes as they painted and took care of them immediately. The entire team had great respect for our home, our grandchildren...and even our dog.  The yard was left as they found it. No debris was left and nothing was damaged. We know if we called today, they would be here as soon as possible to handle our concerns.  To say we are happy with the results would be an understatement.  We have a new home.  We highly recommend RFM Siding for all of your siding, home improvement needs.  We are already planning a second small project with them at another location. So, would we hire them again? Yes!

The home depot rep Bemjamin Coffey came and took preliminary measurements and scheduled our installation. Fatima at RFM called and stated that they would be doing our installation. RFM arrived at our home on time and Fatima introduced herself and her crew, Renato and Daniello. They were all friendly professional and cordial. They were all meticulous in setting up for the job, and Fatima explained every step of the process. As soon as they began working I could tell they were experts and I would go as far as to say that they are not only highly skilled but they are artists. They made what is normally a difficult job look easy, and I could tell they truly enjoyed there work. After the work was complete Fatima walked with me through my home and showed me how the windows worked and asked me if there was any touch up work needed, there was not , and they made the windows look as if they had been there all the time. We would absolutely recommend RFM for home improvement projects.
