Since moving to Sneads Ferry and having three children in four years, I haven't had the time or even the desire to work out, which is sad because I used to be really into the gym. All of the gyms near my house either had outdated equipment, hours that didn't jive with my schedule, no childcare, or some combination of all three. I didn't want to drive 30+ minutes to go to a gym and drag my kids with me. That is a disaster. Thank goodness for BFP! I was so excited when I learned a Sneads Ferry location was opening. I've been a member now since the end of October but it has been an amazing experience so far. The biggest impact has been the reduction of decision fatigue. I go and do a workout that has already been planned for me. The thought of coming up with my own training plan and schedule is overwhelming when my mommy brain is already so busy managing everyone's days, feelings, and activities. I also really enjoy doing the same workout as everyone else. It feels like I am part of a team! I am feeling myself getting stronger already, and I am motivated to continue healthy lifestyle habits at home. I do wish I could do more than 3 sessions a week, or that the cost was a little lower, but it is definitely worth the price of the membership. I wish I could go every day. A 6am session at BFP is the perfect way to start my day, and I am so excited that I can continue the workouts when my husband is away by bringing my kids to the childcare room. Thanks BFP! read more

I truly didn't know a fitness center like Breakaway Fitness & Performance even existed! If so, I would've started my fitness journey a long time ago! As someone with no prior knowledge or experience with strength training, metabolic conditioning, or nutrition management, the coaches are so knowledgeable and supportive. The coaches and other members are so welcoming and friendly. Everyone there wants to help and encourage each other. The house rules respect people's values, insecurities, and make it so comfortable for everyone no matter what level you're at! You will never be left feeling lost or forgotten. I literally only joined this gym because Joe and Melody were my new neighbors when we moved to NC. Since January I've lost 60lbs, and I actually enjoy and look forward to coming to the gym every day! And I'm a busy mom with 6 young kids! The environment is amazing, the coaching is amazing, and the workouts are killer, but scaled to your personal level of fitness! For example: when I started I couldn't plank for more than 20 seconds (diastasis recti from 4 back-to-back pregnancies), and I just recently mastered the 2 minute plank challenge! The coaches were able to give me alternative exercises when I couldn't do exactly what was being done that day. They also have monthly challenges that encourage you to get moving in AND out of the gym, monthly social events, they have an online social media community aspect, you can text your coaches 24/7 with any questions, and I've never seen anyone at the gym be anything other than encouraging and nice! read more

I joined BFP in January 2017. That was nearly 5 years ago! I never thought I'd get as addicted to going to BFP as I have. It's awesome. I'm 50 years old and easily in the best shape of my adult life. I feel stronger and fitter than ever. The focus on functional fitness using weights, body weight exercises and some cardio machines allows for such a varied experience you never get bored. And the programming makes sure all your muscle groups are targeted. You are sore in a good way most of the time. Arguably the best part is the supportive community. I've made so many good friends through working out here. That provides so much motivation to get there at 5 am to start the day right. My wife and teenage sons go too. Give BFP a try. I can't even begin to put in words how much I appreciate Joe & Silas. I have been attending their group classes for about 6 weeks. I have lost 10 pounds. At the age of 50 that is hard to come by. To many that might not sound like a lot. I have been trying to several years at another gym with no luck. The guys are well trained, positive, motivates and adjust the workout to every level. I am usually the slowest, most uncoordinated in the class. It doesn't bother me! The guys say "Keep Moving!" It is fun and everyone is supportive of each other. This place is nothing but a blessing to anyone who is serious about their health! Absolutely the best gym I have ever been to. It really is more than a gym however. Starting out I was shy, inexperienced, overweight and weak. I was easily frustrated and quit at other generic gyms because I didn't understand how to work out. Joe worked with me, helping me to understand what movements worked for my needs and created a truly individual plan that got results! The accountability that I received and positive reinforcement from other members daily really pushed me to continue. I started dreading my days OFF from the gym! I have surpassed my original goal of shedding "baby weight" and have a new goal to become FIT! I feel better, I have so much energy and I owe it all to this wonderful group of people. read more

I never in a million years would have thought that I would join a gym! I went in 3 months ago to talk with them to see IF they would be willing to work with me since I have M.S. To my surprise Joe was not hesitant at all so, I joined right then. So far I have worked with 3 different coaches and they are all super knowledgeable and genuinely want the best for all of their members. Each time I worked with a new coach, they already knew my strengths and weaknesses. All of the members have been really nice, supportive and nonjudgmental. This place is incredible! I came into BFP not ever having experienced this type of gym atmosphere before. I'd done group classes before but nothing like the at home feeling that's been cultivated at BFP. The coaches are so attentive to every members individual needs, strengths and areas of improvement. They have worked with me through at least two separate injuries and helped me improve not only my physical fitness but my body make up, my nutrition and even helped members work on maintaining a positive attitude through this crazy COVID year. I have been a member of BFP-Sneads Ferry for a year now. Prior to joining, my exercise journey included: feeling lost at box gyms, influencer workouts, and an at home fitness program complete with food containers and shakes. I was not consistent and was not seeing any results. When this gym opened I had never touched a barbell and found it completely intimidating. Now I look forward to heavy lift days. My fitness journey has been sporadic until I joined Breakaway Fitness & Performance. Over the years I had joined many "gyms", enrolled in aerobic classes & even tried Weight Watchers. This is not just a gym, it's a family. The workouts are challenging and I've seen fantastic results. The sessions are like group personal training. I have a few injuries that prevented me from pursuing my fitness goals. The trainers are super knowledgeable and help me to work around those injuries while still working hard. After starting regular sessions at BFP, I have more energy and stamina, I can play sports with my kids, and I like the way my clothes fit. I was not sure about starting this gym but I gave it a try. Not only are the coaches great and pay attention to your form and how much weight you are lifting, they push you to do better and and do it correctly, as well to modifications for injuries. The staff is amazing!!! I have also met a lot of great people, made really close friends that push have pushed me to better as well as hold me accountable for not showing up. I have definitely noticed that my confidence level has gone up. I have completed a few competitions with my gym family. Highly recommend this place for any fitness level. read more

I wasn't looking for a gym but when Stephanie brought it up I wanted to try it. Something was definitely missing from my life and when I FINALLY went to class I knew it what I needed. I have followed the programming at BFP for the last 7 months as I had a baby 7 months ago and I have lost all the weight that I gained with my baby plus ten more lbs.
