I'm a travel guide from out of town and after 2+ weeks on the road, walking 6-13 miles a day and lugging two big bags along, I searched desperately for a massage on my one day off, finding Steve had the best reviews. I called Steve the day of to beg for an appointment. "I'll take any time for any length. I'll take even 10 minutes, if you got it," I implored. I was able to get an hour long massage at 4PM. Steve Ayton was so kind and endearing. Most places ask about your job for the purpose of the massage, but Steve actually absorb the information and what it meant for my body aches and adhered to requests I had: I wanted a total body reset and he delivered. Rather than asking for what pressure I like, he said he'd use the physical pressure he felt was appropriate and I could ask for adjustments, which I felt took the emotional pressure off myself to choose and I immediately relaxed. I swear the moment he started working on my calves, I checked out for a moment of total nirvana and my feet? Forget it. The incredible pain I came in with was simply gone by the end of our session. His office is in a large old wooden house on the street with a salon downstairs but it's insulated well enough and I hardly noticed the small noise as the massage was so good. I highly recommend Steve and his caring touch. I know I'll be recommending him to other travel guides that visit Gettysburg with sore feet. read more

I've been to numerous massage therapists and Steve is decidedly the best. He found a knot underneath my shoulder blade that thousands of dollars of tests didn't find and was able to release pain I had for years. I went for a massage at this location in July 2020. The staff was amazing and everything was amazing. I asked for a 2 hour massage and luckily was able to get one. Most places won't do a 2 hour massage. I highly recommend this place to others. I can't wait to go back. read more

I started going to Steve Ayton, owner of Breaktime Massage in October. I was having problems with my neck due to degenerative disc disease. Because of Steve's caring nature and expertise with massage, my neck now feels 100% better. My neck was giving me constant pain before my first massage. I now currently get massages about every four weeks and my neck is basically pain free. (I still have some twinges since, although Steve is wonderful, he can't turn back the hands of time!) I never thought I would get to this point without medication for the pain. I highly recommend Breaktime Massage. My first exposure to Breaktime Massage was through a chair massage that was being offered at Adams County Winery, which I frequent. I could not wait to relax for a few moments, and I was not disappointed. The owner, Steve Ayton, is wonderfully personable and I felt at ease immediately. So much so, that in short order, I made an appointment for a full body massage. That first massage was life changing - so complete in relieving me of many aches and pains. I had massages before, but Steve is not only gifted with his craft, he also has a philosophy of getting to know each client's individual needs - the stressors and physical issues that need addressed - and devising a plan to specifically address those needs. This makes for such a more thorough and customized treatment, that there really is no comparison with any other service out there. And they have a lot of options available. I think I am going to try a Hot Stone Therapy session sometime soon. They ONLY do massage - so they can focus and offer so much because of that. It feels more like a wellness/therapy approach than a spa, for example, and that is what I want to experience when I have a massage. Also, the prices are incredibly low for the individualized attention and extras that you get, including essential oils - you get to pick your fragrance to add to the calming experience. I recently enjoyed a perfect 60 minute massage with Nicole at Breaktime Massage and I wish that I lived closer to be able to schedule regular sessions with her! The room and table were comfortable and clean and Nicole took the time to ask about what I hoped to achieve from my massage and any issues that I wanted her to focus on. She is a very intuitive massage therapist who worked patiently to ease the tension from my aching muscles and stressed out mind. She was also very accommodating with her schedule as I was running late that morning and I even got a Gettysburg College discount as my daughter is enrolled there. The massage rooms are located upstairs from a hair salon conveniently located near the college with easy parking. I will definitely return next time I am in town!
