Awful experience for my soon-to-be sister-in-law, her mother, and our bridal party. We showed up to our appointment on time and none of the staff would let us in. It took three calls to the boutique while we stood outside in the cold before anyone would answer the phone and let us in. Once we were inside, we were told by a staff member that we could shop and pick out some dresses and looks for the bride to try, but when we went to look we were stopped by another staff and told we weren't allowed to. What?? And then they kept bringing my sister-in-law dresses she kept saying she did not like and were completely ignoring her. It definitely felt like they were pushing us out and discouraging us from doing business with them. I would hate to think this behavior was racially motivated, but from what I've seen from other reviewers, I won't put it past them. I'm extremely angry and disappointed. read more

Buyer beware: Do not purchase from this company if you expect to receive the dress you purchased! I purchased a dress from them that was marked as "in stock" and then received a text message from them almost a week later stating the dress was now sold out and would not be shipped. This is not acceptable for a high end dress store. They should have an accurate inventory system to prevent double selling an in stock dress. They did not even have decent enough customer service to apologize in the text message, let alone offer something to help make up for their error. read more

Called store when coming into town and asked if we could drop in to shop. We were told yes and we were greeted and checked in when we first got there, then our associate disappeared. We didn't realize it was close to closing time, but Fara made sure to let us know when we asked for a dressing room that they were closed and we shouldn't have been allowed in. I was taken aback and I let her know I could take my money to another establishment. I work in a high school in Blue Springs and many of our girls travel to COMO to dress shop. Found the Prom dresses BUT NOT a good experience for the $1290 I shelled out to unorganized, sloppy, rude sales associates. Even after making an appointment weeks in advance, this felt like a last minute decision, due to the lack of planning at this store. They could be a great store, if they used time wisely, didn't divide the store and built twice as many dressing rooms. All said and done they got $1200 and I had an anxiety attack, from the time issue and s headache I would suggest not going on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday unless you're sadistic. We went here to find a dress for my best friend, and it was such a positive experience! Everyone was wearing masks and being safe, which made us feel safe and taken care of. The girls working (Amira and Claire, I believe) were so pleasant and worked patiently to make sure that my bestie didn't leave without her perfect dress. They also gave us great advice about trying on dresses and seeing what worked best for her body type. We ended up finding the PERFECT dress (we all cried!) and we left having the most positive experience possible. She seemed over it and annoyed that we wanted our requests accommodated. They also did not explain their return policy or how much items were. I should have known better. I've had just as many bad experiences as Breeze as I've had good ones, but the wedding dress debacle takes the cake. Previously at Breeze I'd bought a leather jacket and the lining fell apart 3 days after buying it. Because of their strict policy on no returns or exchanges I had to literally demand an exchange. Something falling apart that quickly was unacceptable. Then my aunt bought me a dress, word to the wise, get a gift card. She got me a size too big, and it looks ridiculous on me and they wouldn't change it out for the same dress in a different size. A few years went by, I moved away from CoMo, and then I got engaged to a boy who is from there. Shortly thereafter I went to visit his family and they were all so excited that, even though my mom wasn't there, we decided to go try on dresses for fun. My appointment was with Kendra and she was really great! She made the appointment really fun, and the second dress she picked out was perfect. It fit the checklist in my head and I really, really liked it. I was so overwhelmed and excited about even trying dresses on in the first place, that I went along with everything Kendra told me. The sample dress I tried on fit perfectly and Kendra said that if I just paid $100 on the dress that day, they would keep it in the back for me and I could take as long as I needed to pay it off, and that if I found a dress somewhere else I could use the $100 towards anything in the store. Then I went to pay, and the girl at the register asked for $200 and said I needed to pay it off in 4 months, and neither of those changes from what Kendra said were unreasonable. Also I figured that if I did find a dress I loved more, somewhere else, I'd have a $200 dollar credit to let one of my bridesmaids use, since they also have a nice selection of bridesmaids dresses. A few weeks later my mom flew up to see me in Colorado and we went to look at dresses together. I wasn't expecting to find something better or change my mind, but all I've ever wanted to do is look for my wedding dress with my mom. And then I found it. A dress that's drastically different from what I found at Breeze, it's not trendy, slim cut and lace like what's fashionable right now. It's really different and makes me feel like a damn queen and sexy and wonderful. The moment I put it on there was no question. When the deal was done and I'd bought the dress I truly fell in love with, I called Breeze to let them know they could put the dress back on the rack, and ask what I needed to have to use the $200. I don't know who I talked to first, but I did end up on the phone with Kendra, and the gist of both conversations were "Why would you even go try on another dress!?!?! And no you cannot use that $200 unless it's on an item of the same value," which would be $1700. I was going to send my bridesmaids there, but oh well. I understand that it's a small business and there are some things you have to be strict about, but I think some of their policies take things too far. Also it would be really great if all of their employees were on the same page about policies because I was straight up lied to. Like, I'm not happy about the $200, it would have been great to use there on dresses or bridal jewelry, but in the grand scheme of a wedding, it's not a huge loss. I'm just really pissed that I was lied to, and just want anyone who might be going there for their wedding dress (which is fair, they have a great selection) to proceed with caution. read more

Most disappointing experience with bridal shopping. I'm an out of state bridesmaid and sent them my measurements so I could get the proper size. They recommend a size that I knew was going to be huge and had the bride fight to get me two sizes down, which they finally complied with. When I received the dress, it was still huge; 4 inches too big in the waist. Since I am out of state and the dresses got in a month before the wedding I asked for them to cover my outrageous alteration fees since the dress I received was still too large. They said they weren't willing to do that and that I should send the dress back, but couldn't guarantee me a dress in time for the wedding. Then they had me measure the waist size and found out that the dress was made larger than the size it was labeled with. They still did nothing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Once the sales woman we were given to realized we weren't going to spend $600+ dollars on a dress, she gave us to a younger sales girl. She was very nice, but didn't know what she was talking about. Told us a larger size would be easy to have taken in, but when we got to the seamstress, she said she would have to take the whole dress apart. The store smells HORRIBLE! You have to wash your clothes after you purchase them because the store smells so bad. On top of that, The quality is so horrible and cheap. You can wear everything once before it falls apart. The prices are extremely high for what they offer. I recommend shopping at other stores dow town. Their return policy is horrible. I tried taking a dress back with the receipt, tag, and bag they gave me that day, 3 days after I purchased it because I needed the dress in a smaller size. They would not exchange the dress for a smaller size. This would not have put them out of money at all. While I was trying to talk to them, the lady was super rude. I went in to try on wedding dresses. They have a wonderful selection and a staff that gets to know you and your wedding style. I ended up getting a dress from them, which was exciting! With all the emotions from the day I ended up buying the veil I tried on with the dress. It is a very expensive veil and not worth the money. I was not expecting to buy a dress that day so I had to put it on layaway and put a deposit down. (I drove from Kansas City). I was totally fine with picking it up later on. I contacted them the next day, because my aunt wants me to wear her veil, about taking the veil off the purchase. All sales are final even layaway. Which was not explained to me when I put the dress and veil on layaway. They told me that they would see and that they wouldn't be able to let me know if they could get it off the purchase until I came and picked up the dress. Which made me feel like they weren't even going to try to get the veil off. I went and picked up the dress and they told me that they wouldn't be able to take the veil off, because it was on the same contract. They could take the veil off the contract but the half I already paid for the purchase I would not get back. Meaning I would have to repurchase my dress without the veil and lose the money I had already put down. I left upset, and that after I was able to take my dream dress home. Overall the staff is helpful and knowledgeable but I did feel like I was haggled into buying the veil. read more

The dress my daughter wanted was too big and needed altered. They could not order this dress in her size. I took lots of pics of the dress as I was going to leave the store to have a professional tell me a price to have it altered. After round and round with the lady at the check out of me wanting to leave to see about the additional price and her keep assuring me that it was "an easy fix". I even said multiple times that I had no idea if it would be $100 or $300. She assured me that it would be closer to $100 as again, "it would be an easy fix". After back and forth multiple times I thought she sounded pretty sure of herself and bought the dress. Took the dress to 2 different places and got quoted $250. I called just to let them know that this was not ok to pressure people and give advice that you know nothing about. She asked what I would like to be done....Well, I had not really thought about that and have never called anywhere to complain. So I said "discount". She called me back several days later to tell me that the employees are well trained and know what they are talking about. She pretty much flat out told me I'm wrong and the staff was right. It would not have take much to make me a happy camper. I live about 3 hours away and I had wanted to try out their dresses when my friends and I got there we just wanted to look around we of course started picking out dresses just like we would at any dress store. A lady who worked there came up to us and took the dresses out of our hands. To me this was extremely rude especially because she didn't even ask she just snatched them. We then were told we had to make an appointment, we tried to make said appointment and weren't allowed to try on unless we knew that we were going to buy that day, let me just ask who knows when exactly they will buying a dress... NO ONE. We were then also told that unless we had a parent with us we couldn't make an appointment. A parent called so we went back and they preceded to be rude to us. Then we set up an appointment and they messed up our budget range we were then told we couldn't be helped because a dress was $39 over our budget. I will definitely not be going back. read more

I was in the market for a prom dress and after some time looking online I thought I found some ideas but I was having a hard time finding plus size dresses that I could try on in store. There was one specific dress that I really liked and found that Breeze carried it. Considering that I live over 2 1/2 hours away I made sure to call and ask if they had that dress that I could just look at even if they didn't have it in my size and other dresses that came in my size so I could at least try something on. I was assured that they had the dress I was looking for in store and there were "tons" of dresses in my size that I could get on and zip because they had "over 5,000 dresses" and we made it clear we would not drive 2 1/2 hours away if they didn't. So my mom and I made the journey to Breeze one day. When we got there were definitely NOT "5,000 dresses" and the dress that they said they had was no where in sight... That honestly should have been a red flag. I asked that lady taking care of us if she could pull some dress in my size while we looked around. When I got in the dressing room all the dresses were 8 sizes too small and I was so confused. I asked her if there were any dresses in my size and she said that they didn't carry "those sizes". It was completely embarrassing. None of the dresses would zip and none were in the style I told her that I liked. Of course I started crying because I realized that they were not going to have anything for me that would fit and I was flat out lied to. The lady kinda stopped helping us when she realized she was not going to make a sale and was unhelpful in answering our questions as to why we were told there were dresses in my size in store. I basically drove 2 1/2 hours away to be lied to, shoved into a dress that wouldn't even zip an inch, and was ignored when the sale couldn't be made. I guess if that's what you're into go ahead and try out Breeze Boutique, but honestly I would never go there again.
