This North Miami neighborhood was mainly built between 1940-1967, and homes were designed in various architectural styles including Art Deco and Modern. This neighborhood is on Biscayne Bay. Amenities at Keystone Park include basketball courts, a multi use field, a tiki hut, and a shade covered playground with synthetic turf. The playground is named for Joseph "Joe" Weil, a resident and city activist. The pickle ball courts are a popular feature of this park. The sport, which is a cross between table tennis, badminton, and tennis, was invented by three vacationers on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, in 1965. There are now 36.5 million pickleball players in the U.S and it was named the fastest growing sport in the U.S. in 2024. The courts are available on a first come, first serve basis and you can check out balls and paddles from the community center. Parking is a little scarce around the park but Flanigans has overflow parking across the street and noticed some people using that. Based on the number of people here, Keystone park is a popular North Miami recreational resource.

Love that. We don't live anywhere close to here but we loved it so much that we will make it a point to comeback and play at this park even if we are not near. Loved it that much. Bathroom and water fountain. Thank goodness for this Pavilion with picnic tables. I had my lunch and did a little writing there. Jungle gym with slides. The kids went bananas on these. There are two so the kids aren't piled on top of each other. Swings for kids and swings for babies are separate. Rock climbing wall is small and short enough for the kids not to get hurt if they do have a little tumble. Sensory or rotary toys Turf ground is amazing. We don't get dirty sitting on the ground or running around. Seesaw. I can't remember the last time I've seen one of those. So cool. Dinosaur teeter. One or two kids can ride on it. Mini library to borrow and donate books for the kids. Plenary of benches all around. So convenient because I was not looking forward to being all hinged over on the floor. Next to a bright line rail track. Scary but it's on the other side of the fence of course. No danger here. Parking right outside and free. You don't have one of those park and pay situations. Park is gated. Kidd can safely run around and you can relax as they play. Tip: bring chalk the pavilion Pilars are coated in chalkboard paint so you can draw all over. A little bucket and washcloths might be a good idea too to clean up the walls a bit and start your masterpiece.

Fun fact, a condo in Bay Harbor Islands was used for the exterior of Dexter Morgan's apartment in the Showtime's TV show Dexter. Officer Scott A. Winters Park is on East Island. This park was named in honor of K-9 Officer Scott A. Winters who attended Bay Harbor Elementary and served as a police officer here in his early career. While he was a Pompano Beach Police Officer he was murdered on July 29, 1990 by a man he was trying to apprehend who was suspected of raping and assaulting a woman. The man who shot Officer Winters is on death row. Winters is the only Pompano Beach Officer to lose his life in the line of duty. After this incident, the Pompano Beach Police Department disbanded when they merged with the Broward Sheriff's Office. There is also a park named in Officer Scott A. Winter's honor in Pompano Beach. Amenities at this park include a restroom, benches, a dog run, pavilion, two shaded play structures equipped with ADA-accessible components. and splash pad. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the open field with FieldTurf, ideal for a game of soccer. This is the most popular park in Bay Harbor Islands as it offers a clean and safe community hub with diverse facilities that appeal to families, children, and pet owners alike.

It was dedicated in the memory of Vice Mayor Louis Haas MD. The tot lot may be small in size but it has great amenities. There is a shade covered tree house themed playground and a second blue and red playground. There is also a splash pad, benches, and covered picnic pavilion with picnic tables. My favorite part of the park was the view of Biscayne Bay and the Broad Causeway which takes you on and off the island. There is no parking area but I found a spot in front of a house next to the tot lot that was being built. There is also no restrooms. This park is primarily used by neighborhood residents but if you want a great water view, stop by.

As a democrat she was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1974 and she served until 1980. She served three different times in the Florida Senate from 1980 to 1992, 2002 to 2008, and 2010 to 2016. She was the first woman to chair the finance and tax committees. In 1990, Senator Margolis made history when she was named President of the Florida Senate making her the first woman to preside over any state senate in the United States. Gwen Margolis is remembered for playing a pivotal role in the incorporation of Sunny Isles Beach. After a 42 year career during which she won numerous awards, Gwen Margolis retired from politics in 2016. On December 12, 2001, this 2.84 acre park opened dedicated to the senator for all of her years of service. Money for this park was provided by funding from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program. Gwen Margolis Park is well maintained and beautifully laid out making it a delight to visit. Amenities at Gwen Margolis Park a shade covered playground, benches, picnic tables, paved walking path, and botanical garden. There is also an off leash dog park called the Bone Zone. One of the most popular features of the park is the Senator Gwen Margolis Park soccer field which is one of the most used facilities in Sunny Isles Beach. It is part of the Youth Soccer programs which enrolls several hundred children each year, and it is also used by park patrons on the weekends. State of the art Musco Sports lighting was recently added to the soccer fields to improve night games. Many people live in towers in Sunny Isles Beaches so green spaces like Senator Gwen Margolis Park are essential for giving people and pups a place to exercise and play. Sunny Isles Beaches did a great job with designing this park to give the community a wonderful recreational resource that they can bike and walk to.

North Bay Village is made of three islands, Harbor Bay, North Bay and Treasure Island. The town was created in 1940 by dredging and bulk heading so North Bay Village has amazing water views. North Bay Village was once home to nightclubs, mobsters, and thousands of snowbirds. Today you will find high rises and a bustling business district. This park is named in honor of a chiropractor from the Bronx: Dr. Paul Vogel, who served as Mayor on the North Bay Village Commission from 1982-1998. Dr. Vogel was also US Coast Guard veteran. He passed away at the age of 84 in 2012 while still in office. He is credited with transforming sleepy North Bay Village into a more family focused community by bringing people together and adding amenities that made life better for city residents. In 2010 this Harbor Bay Island park was renamed in his honor. This small but well maintained park has a restroom, paved walking/exercise path, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic pavilion, and a shade coveted playground with rubber flooring. I think the nicest feature of this park is the stunning view of Biscayne Bay. Another unique feature of the park is in the form of a public art piece. Near the entrance to the park is a blue cylinder with a QR code on top. If you scan the code it takes you to the Cortada Foundation page where you will find information on climate change and how the rise in sea level is affecting Broward and Miami Dade Counties. The foundation places art installations in various public spaces to bring attention to this issue. In 2024 North Bay Village broke ground on the Vogel Park Marine Facility project funded by a grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND). The project provides residents with enhanced access to the waters of Biscayne Bay from a kayak launch equipped with a mechanical lever system. The facility will include a dock to berth the NBVPD Marine Patrol Unit which patrols and secures North Bay Village's waterways.
