This review is not about Brendan but a person who works for him. My home equity loan process started great but ended terribly. I was misinformed (in writing) that the loan would pay off "all debt" when it, in fact, left me with thousands of dollars of debt. When I first asked about the discrepancy, the employee made it seem like the plan was always to leave me with some debt. When pressed, she apologized for the miscommunication. But that doesn't get rid of my debt, which was the whole point of going through this process in the first place. In the end, the budget relief I thought I would get immediately has now been delayed a few years, if nothing financially destabilizing happens between now and then. Though I recognize I am in a better financial position than I was when I started the process, I am sorely disappointed in the way it unfolded. Brendan and his team get an A++ from me! I started working with Brendan to get pre-approved while on deployment as I was looking to buy a house when I returned. This is my first home so I needed a lot of guidance along the way, and Brendan there whenever I had even the smallest question or at the most inopurtune time(deployment schedule). Using his companies online website really helped speed the process along combined with his awesome staff like, Beatriz. The pre-approval process was very smooth, but it gets WAYYY better when I actually returned from deployment. As soon as I got back from deployment, I was out looking at homes. I found a really good option for me in about a week. This is where Brendan and his team REALLY shined. The beginning of escrow they walked me through everything...really everything. I talked to Brendan almost on a daily basis. Within a week we had completed almost all of the paperwork for escrow which would come in handy. The VA appraisal came back low and the sellers didn't want to negotiate so I had to cancel escrow a week and a half into it(after everything was prepped and ready with Brendan). The sellers came back a week later saying they wanted me back. Not only did Brendan help speed along getting escrow reopened, we also closed shortly after. Even after the WEEK long delay from the sellers, we closed in 23 days total from the first day of escrow(the first time). Effectively a closed a VA LOAN IN 16 days(subtracting the 7 day seller delay)!!! I am convinced that most of these 5 star reviews are not legitimate because the service I received from Brendan was quite the contrary. Brendan dropped the ball on several occasions. I waited for his follow up after our initial meeting (43 days ago) . 2 weeks went by and I hadn't heard from him so I decided to call him. He apologized and said he was really busy. The second time he let almost the same amount of time pass before I had to contact him. He again apologized for not ordering the appraisal and expressed how busy he had been with a couple people out of the office. I texted him telling him to just delete my file. Soon after I received an email that an appraisal has been ordered. That email was on July 23rd and today is August 7th. That was 15 days ago and still no appraisal! No review, stars or even words can express how frustrated I am with Brendan's service or lack there of. If you want to waste a bunch of time and get nowhere than have Brendan Bracken pretend to do your loan. read more
