Hello, Please read as this may save you and your family. No Stars!…read more I hired Mrs. Nelson for my uncontested divorce case in September 2023. Mrs. Nelson made mistakes including putting the incorrect plaintiff's name on the uncontested form, and sent it to my ex-husband and his lawyer. When my ex husband's lawyer sent the report back stating that they wanted to Contest the divorce in Dec 2023, Mrs. Nelson did not update me accordingly. I had to call the court house directly for the status. She advised that she did not have time to review what the Plaintiff's response was and she was going on vacation until after the New Year. After being displeased with her work ethic/ performance, and nonchalant attitude I hired a new attorney for the Contested part of my divorce. I was no longer within a legal contract with Mrs. Nelson. We only had a contract for the Uncontested portion which was paid up front with a receipt, and I was provided a copy of the contractual agreement. When I hired another attorney for the Contested divorce Mrs. Nelson advised that I owed her money for work that I did not authorize her to do in regards to the Contested divorce. I did not sign a contract with her, nor did I put any money in the retainer for the contested divorce. When I did some research on my end and found out that she billed me incorrectly, I emailed Mrs. Nelson and advised her of the discrepancy in billing. I also advised her that I stopped payment on the check, and advised if she thought I did this in error to please let me know and send me a copy of the signed contract. I did not defraud Mrs. Nelson, and had no ill intentions. I gave her a courtesy update because I do not cheat people. I gave her an opportunity to provide evidence, and she did not. Fast forward to July 2024- I had to go to court because Mrs. Nelson filed CRIMINAL Charges against me saying that I wrote a bad check. I had money in my account and did not owe Mrs. Nelson. I am a law abiding citizen and have a cleared record. I had to get a criminal defense lawyer to support my case. Presently not only am I dealing with a divorce, I am also dealing with false accusations towards me that could have landed me up to 1 year in jail. I have two kids that are dependent on me, a replicable reputation, and I am a cleared professional. I am so disappointed in how she handled things. Clearly she could see how much the divorce hurt me, and now these incorrect allegations and charges. ***God heard my prayers and the District Attorney (DA) through the case out due to lack of evidence on her part, and not having a contractual agreement *** Here's the kicker... Mrs. Nelson was even arguing with the DA that was supporting her case, in court, after the trial because she was upset with the verdict. Please do your research!

From the start, there was a noticeable lack of structure--no real physical office presence to speak of, which made communication and accountability feel disjointed. That alone should have been a red flag. More concerning, however, was the complete lack of preparation and diligence on my case. When it mattered most--during my final hearing--I found myself calculating child support figures and prompting my own attorney to speak. Let that sink in. I was essentially doing the work I was paying them to do. There was little evidence of trial preparation, no meaningful coordination of witnesses, and no confidence in their representation. Despite this, their billing practices were aggressive and excessive. It felt like I was being charged for every minor action--borderline "lifting a pencil" billing--without the substance or results to justify it. What's most frustrating is the contrast: minimal effort on the case, but relentless follow-up when it comes to collections. The urgency they show in chasing payment is nowhere close to the level of diligence applied to actually representing their clients. As a result of how my case was handled, I am now back in court dealing with issues that should have been properly addressed the first time. I would not recommend this firm to anyone under any circumstances. Run.

I had come from another law firm in the last three months I have spent over 6k . The retainer *gone* each month is more than two car payments . Keep in mind my case never even went to the first court date . You will get billed even if no progress is made in your case. All these files are from my previous law firm and their progress. All they did is organize it in folders. I called to ask about some of the charges and was told this was on the cheaper end. With my last lawyers Pare associates at least they actually filed discovery , progress and kept me updated on my case. I talked to my lawyer twice each time no more then 30-45 mins but was billed close to 400-1000 in trial prep. As a single mother who is trying to just get child support to help myself stay afloat I don't recommend them. They have made no progress on my case. I regret changing law firms while they may sound friendly and be friendly people they will drain you dry. Even after I requested them to withdrawal due to not being able to keep up with the payments I hoped to get some of my money from my retainer but even after they charged me for work . My case never even went to court. Never progressed never even made a dent except to me and my son.
