Let me also say that I had never met her before. I was in town for one day and the stars aligned for us to meet. I needed my hair blown out and she just happened to have an opening when I needed it. When I arrived, Annie was incredibly gracious and friendly and took me back immediately. Even though I arrived 10 minutes early! The treatment itself was heavenly and it was clear that she really knows her stuff. She explained to me in great detail how to treat my type of hair (Wavy 2A) and what products I would benefit the most from using. All in all, I couldn't have been more impressed with my experience at Hairscape. Annie's experience, professionalism, and business skills are far beyond what I was expecting and I can't recommend her enough if you're looking for that person who treats you more than just another client. Sometimes you meet someone that feels so familiar even though you've never met before and this was one of those times for me. I anticipate being back in town fairly regularly and I will always make time to come in for a service. If I could give Annie and her staff more than 5 stars, I would. All I can say is WOW!! I entered the store and was greeted by Freshta, asking "Hi, how are you today?" "Not good" I answered. This almost black hair, was not supposed to look like this, I said... Freshta has, hands down, the best customer service of anyone anywhere, in any industry, that I have experienced in probably, the past 5 years. Not only was she beyond helpful, she was exceptionally patient with me, she didn't try to oversell me on anything, she suggested DIY solutions and, she followed up, texting me to make sure that every thing worked out ok. Freshta is the type of employee that every employer would kill to have an entire crew of, and one that shoppers can appreciate as she is not pushy or rushed, not rude or short. She is knowledgeable and kind. She explained things on a level that my own salon has never explained - and I pay them really good money. She wasn't condescending like many of today's younger sales staff. She was truly a gem, in my "hour of need". I will go back, probably long before I head back to the over priced salon. I managed to remove the colour from my hair, recolour it to what I had originally expected it to be and, I was under $50. I recall having this done over 10 yrs ago at a salon in Oakville and I was over $300.00. Oh - and i forgot to mention, she totally nailed the new/old colour with no pics to reference. So Amazing. I have been coming here for a year and haven't had any problems until last week. I was so excited…read morefor my haircut to give myself a little confidence boost, but after the appointment I sobbed in my car and have hardly wanted to look in the mirror since. I think this might be the worst haircut I've ever had and it makes me want to cry every time I think about the fact that I'll have to wait months for it to grow out. I asked for a simple trim, to add some layers and to trim my front pieces to about my lips, so that I could still put my hair up in a pony tail. I even showed reference pictures. I left with curtain bangs up to my eyes and the messy layers that go from way too short to long without any layers in between. When she cut my bangs, she didn't even double check with me about the length, she just made the cut. Now I'm stuck with bangs I absolutely didn't ask for. The hairstylist was very nice but I am so disappointed with my haircut and feel sick to my stomach every time I see my new hair. My hair takes a long time to grow, especially at the front of my head, so now I'll be stuck with bangs I didn't ask and may need to cut my long hair that I love having in order to fix these terrible layers. I would give anything to go back in time and make sure I was even more clear about what I wanted.
