Had a strange and fun round at Brent Baca memorial. I was in town last week and wanted to try a course in Albuquerque that I hadn't played before. Brent Baca was top of the list. I got there the on a very chilly morn. the area feels a little sketchy as its a ways out of town, and the only thing nearby was something like a recycling plant or something. I was the only one there as ai pulled up. the course in front of me had random odds and ends includign a couch and some tires too. I just told myself it was part of the experience. The course was wide open. I didn't have to aim around things much, just get the distance down. Most holes were on the shiortwer side so despite the cold I wsa able to park it often. After a few holes a group of about 6 started behind me, which made me feel better about being out in the middle of no where on my own. By the end I really appreciated the course, and the nice views. I'll be back next time in town for sure. read more

This is a great disc golf course! The front nine are relatively short (though still quite a bit longer than other courses in ABQ) but still fun. They provide a nice warm up with a few very technical areas. Watch out for the ravine that runs through the course! The back nine are much longer! If you play from the round, longer tees, you're in for some serious par 4's. For me, that means par 5... The course is fun, technical and not crowded. Nice! The only drawback is the lack of shade. But hell, we live in the desert! Bring a hat and some sunscreen, and plenty of water, and you'll be fine. Oh, and plan for some serious goats head thorns! Long pants and real shoes are absolutely essential! Take some time to drive out toe Brent Baca and you will have a great game! read more

The grass was so lush and the shade and giant trees really made the place seem from another place. We had shown up the other day as I heard the disc gold was really good here. When we arrived we didn't know where to go but luckily there were some locals in the parking lot that pointed us the way. It's not a huge park. The one fella who gave us some guidance luckily gave us the tip that there were about half as many baskets as tee boxes. For example, hole(basket) 5, was also hole 15. We were able to find each tee pretty easily and with the grass cut throughout we weren't likey to lose a disc. Things got a little more crazy when a large disc gold club of people arrived. Around 2 dozen people met up for a tournament of sorts. They all started on different holes and all of as sudden we had to be extra careful of our throws as many holes are in the way of throwing lanes. We finished without anyone getting hit in the head, but there were some close ones. Great park, good disc gold course, just be careful of strays frisbees.

It smells lovely in the store. The disks variety is amazing. You can find anything you are looking for. They also have bags, baskets, and a few other outdoor things. The caveat is that the final approach to the U-Mound gets more complex and I gave up. But there's a consolation prize: the term "U-Mound" is apparently also used to refer to the general rocks in the vicinity, which are approachable via the easy trails. Given the incomplete maps online and reviews of the difficult trails around Embudo, the TL;DR take is that you should look for the 401 trail if you're into scenery but not trying to re-enact some grim 2012-era Sundance movie. There are many elevation options. While I didn't see wildflowers in April, there was a great cacti assortment. Geography note: there are buses relatively close to Copper Trailhead but the ABQ Ride schedule is not generous. As of press time there were no post-sunset buses so I took Lyft.

This area is family, friendly with a ride of different trails and pet friendly as well. Like other areas in the foothills do you have to watch out for cacti and other hazards. Still enjoying the views is worth getting out here. There's a good amount of parking and additional parking further out.

They really should have stayed closed, they had some big fans running but it was so miserable inside that the game wasn't so fun and while they let you play two games barely one got played.
