One of the great local pros Amanda runs tenacious groups from 12 to 2 and you can easily learn something by playing in an adjacent court. The rates seem reasonable, and the people all seem to know each other well and enjoy their time together as well as improving, smash his doubles strategy and coming to the net. It's not uncommon to find someone claiming to be the local marshal of the place cleaning up debris and letting the participants know of upcoming schedule changes. I find the nets somehow are always the right height. The active bocce ball and wall climbing chords immediately north of the tennis courts, as well as the birding new swimming complex that has been under construction for at least the last three years make one feel that this is the center of physical activity in North Albuquerque. The people are all very friendly and somewhat competitive. There isn't a lot of dispersion in talent among all the people who play there, but there seems to be a fair amount of good Nature competitiveness and play and I think that is one of the hallmarks of Albuquerque outdoor it seems to me that no matter how much the city has invested its citizens have reaped and 10 times that amount in their enjoyment, their longevity and their cardio

I think people who visit this park do a great job of cleaning up after themselves (minus a few dog poops that I saw around a park, which I hoped was due to unintentional unnotice of dog owners...and not intentionally leaving them there!). The park has both sand and grass area...they clean regularly (their trash is never full!) and provide free dog poop bags for those who forget to bring their own as well. The only drawback is that aside from a few big trees around a park, there's really not much shaded areas for you to hide from the heat. So, make sure you come when it's not 85F+ out. For me, since I live super close by...this temperature/no shade area isn't an issue for me. However, if you are walking from afar or driving here...maybe time it well so you or your loved ones (kids or dogs) don't get heat stroke!

The grass was so lush and the shade and giant trees really made the place seem from another place. We had shown up the other day as I heard the disc gold was really good here. When we arrived we didn't know where to go but luckily there were some locals in the parking lot that pointed us the way. It's not a huge park. The one fella who gave us some guidance luckily gave us the tip that there were about half as many baskets as tee boxes. For example, hole(basket) 5, was also hole 15. We were able to find each tee pretty easily and with the grass cut throughout we weren't likey to lose a disc. Things got a little more crazy when a large disc gold club of people arrived. Around 2 dozen people met up for a tournament of sorts. They all started on different holes and all of as sudden we had to be extra careful of our throws as many holes are in the way of throwing lanes. We finished without anyone getting hit in the head, but there were some close ones. Great park, good disc gold course, just be careful of strays frisbees.

What I like about this park is just that it's a park that people in this community actually use. There were people playing sports, walking, hanging out around a park and walking their pets. It also really did seem very safe and nice around the partk/area (which isn't the case at all parks). If you are around the area and have some time to kill, you can check out this spot. A loop around a park doesn't really take long. Even a rather slow walker like me did a loop in less than 30 minutes!

It's a split personality of old school climb 'n slide alongside a Dali dreamscape of ropes, rings and trippy things. Woodchips. Two big kid swings and one bucket (limited radius). The green is expansive, with plenty of room for soccer or flag football, trees line the perimeter. Basketball, half-court (high five!). Lots of trash cans, benches and areas to relax while the monkeys go ape... wild. The Bad: Yet another ABQ park with no shade, making this place off-limits during the hot summer hours of the day, which is essentially three months of the year. Shade is such an important investment, people! Visit any shade-less city park that's 5+ years of age and you'll find that our brutal rays absolutely punish the equipment, melting and fading the plastic. Anybody understand the logic of metal materials on these grounds? Me either. The upfront cost of installing some shade sails atop these areas might initially hurt, but they've gotta pay off in the long run. They certainly ease my concerns about skin cancer. The Verdict: I'll get off my soapbox, it's nearly impossible to find a shaded park in the 505. This park is gorgeous. It's definitely better for the elder set, toddlers won't find much to do here, but who cares. Brilliant execution.

There is not a dedicated parking lot so I parked on the street next to the playground. I did not see any restroom facilities either, so I'll keep that in mind next time I plan an afternoon there with the kids. It was clean and in good repair (the playground equipment looked relatively new) and there were lots of kids there enjoying the swings and climbing web and jungle gym. Some mature trees on the west side of the park shaded part of the playground and there was a small canopy over one of the pieces of equipment but most of it was in the sun in the late afternoon. The main play structure does have shade sails, but the equipment is still very hot in the sun. As the other review mentioned there is not a lot for younger kids to play on, however only a block away, there is another park a little more suited for little ones.

Alongside the barrel of the slide I see these long black and brown lines which I can only assume belong to the rubber soles of kiddo shoes. It doesn't take a physicist to determine that these particular slides are way too steep, to the point that they're likely dangerous. My daughter and I usually take these slides together, her on my lap, to confirm that contention ("Iris, that looks way too dangerous... Let's go!"). Sister Cities has one of these slides. It also lacks shade, so summer play is an official bummer. No basketball/baseball/otherwise. The Verdict: Nice neighborhood, good space to play. I enjoyed Sister Cities and I'm really curious about the title of this park. If I lived nearby, the space would get meowt of the house. The city takes good care of this place, too.
