Excellent French food worth waiting for!…read more After our visit to Sanssouci Palace at Potsdam, we came to this restaurant for dinner. Located with the Dutch quarter, this restaurant is within a short bus ride away from the Sanssouci Palace. This restaurant is small and most of the dining area is outdoor. Just like most European restaurants, the service seemed to be slow, and the waiters made no effort in explaining the menu. In addition, they didn't have a menu in English, so you would need a Google app to translate the menu on our own. For our large group of 8 people, we ordered the truffle pasta and the Coq Au Vin (chicken). The truffle pasta was excellent with tender homemade pasta and generous truffle. Other guests also loved their chicken entrees. For desserts, we had the creme brulee and molten chocolate cake. Both desserts had slight twists from the traditional versions, but they were outstanding on their own. Our bill for 8 came to 280 euro. The food was excellent, but the service was slow, and the waiters were not very attentive. Perhaps it is from a cultural experience in dining between the US and Europe. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Of course I've been so used to eating at NY restaurants where the noise level is quite high. So at first it felt a little awkward that I had to talk in a hushed voice since there wasn't even background music at this restaurant. The menu is supposed to be French bistro but aside from a few dishes it was still very much oriented to German cuisine. My brother ordered the goulash and I had this dish that were sort of like mini burger patties. It was good and I was happy with the meal but I didn't think it was particularly French. The creme brûlée, though, was very good. The price point was also reasonable and a carafe of wine was inexpensive enough that I happily indulged myself.

I wasn't very hungry, though the menu looked fantastic. I just had a glass of red wine and a bowl of their vegetable soup with bread, and everything was excellent. Service was great, certainly the best I encountered during my long weekend in Berlin. As an added bonus, the restaurant has really good, late hours. I would love to go back and try their breakfast the next time I'm in town.

They hit the 10/10 ! One star for the quantity in the plate : When people proportions are different in Germany, I agree. The menu even made reference to eluded it was similar but when we saw the sauce on the steak we knew without tasting it, it was not the same. We ate it, it was fine but the steak was tough even though it was cooked fairly rare ( per our request) and thinly sliced. The sauce was salty; not my favorite. Despite my experience, I was surprised to see it was fairly busy for a Monday night; seemed to be popular with the after work crowd. It was my second steak dinner in Berlin and both were a bit disappointing and maybe I'm just spoiled with my steaks as I'm not used to eating a tough piece of meat as I prefer a marbled high quality steak such as a ribeye or tomahawk cut I will stick to braised meat in Germany going forward.
