After a long day in Shipshewana, Brew Ha was a caffeine sanctuary with a hipster charm and laidback vibes. Drinks: Coffee was solid and the kombucha was fizzy magic. Can't wait to go back and try other drinks from their extensive menu. Ambiance: Plenty of cozy spots to choose from if you're on a date or hanging out. Love this place. All the baristas are so friendly. Kinda chaotic but artistic atmosphere. Fast service. Love the drive through option. Best coffee in the area. More affordable than Starbucks or Great Lakes. Try the Brav'ha! Only complaint is they used to have sandwiches available, wish they'd bring those back. read more

Smores Chai is my all-time favorite! Iced or hot. In the summer, I will sometimes get a smoothie. Usually strawberry banana! I also enjoy their rice crispy treats or monster cookies. Have been going to brewha for nearly 20 years. Throughout this time, I have always found it as a nice place to study, work, meet with friends, etc. I have often recommended to others as a place to go and look around, always something new to look at or try! Sometimes, it's nice to be around people without having to talk to them. I highly recommend the text your order option! Drive through can be very busy, but it makes it so.much smoother. I choose brewha over the big names because the Chai and smoothies are so much better! Plus, love supporting local! read more

Another small town coffee shop with a drive-through! I love it! Found this shop traveling home from southern Indiana, while seeking out some caffeine. I love small-town Coffee shops definitely prefer them over Starbucks. From the outside to the inside, this shop is uniquely decorated and painted. I can tell an artist is somehow involved in this business! The back of the coffee house has a lot of seating and displays a lot of this unique artwork. The barista was very friendly and helping me pick out a latte. They had a ton, and I mean a ton, I'm sugar-free options! I'm pretty sure that they had every flavor including seasonal flavors available and sugar-free. So why not order a sugar-free pumpkin spice latte in the winter?! Because I definitely could, and totally did! It was tasty and hit the spot. Jumbo cookies are available for only like $1.50. My daughters got these and we're very happy with the monster cookie choice. read more

This place is an eclectic joint. I've only had the coffee beverages but I have enjoyed them greatly. I like that there are alternative "milks" available for non-dairy drinkers. Every time I have been there the service has been friendly. I enjoy the local art on the walls and the comfortable environment. This place has warmth and personality. read more

Variable quality. The ingredients are always good (with locally roasted coffee), but preparation depends on who's working that day. When it's good, it's very good, but that's rarer than it used to be (there have been some staff changes). At its worst, it's still the best coffee in town, but there's no real competition, just a bunch of gas stations and a Dunkin Donuts. They also runs out of things a lot, so if you find a certain kind of cookie or muffin you like there, don't count on them having it reliably. The drip coffee is usually good (some of the blends they run are better than others, with something different every day), and there's always a dark, light, and decaf to choose from. The paninis are also good, but pricey, and chips and a pickle cost extra. The staff is friendly, but not very skilled. It's mostly pretty young girls who seem to be more interested in socializing with customers or playing with their iPhones than minding the store. Nobody there seems to have any real passion for coffee, or any expertise beyond the basic mechanics of preparing the drinks, which seems very strange for an independent coffee house. Questions about their beans or mixes are generally answered by reading the labels, and if you order something that's not on the menu, like a long black or a cafe au lait, you'll probably have to tell them how to make it. If it's busy, be prepared for a wait, because there's never more than one person running the place. The atmosphere is very nice. Warm colors and earth tones, and lots of comfortable vintage furniture. There's a small room in front with lots of windows and natural light, an a big room in the back that can be reserved for parties and events. Wi-fi is free with a purchase, or can be accessed for a dollar. They have live music some weekends, and it's usually pretty good. Their stand at the local farmer's market is welcome on chilly mornings. I heard they had a second location at the new hospital, but it closed before I had the opportunity to try it. Smoking is prohibited inside the store, but permitted at the outdoor tables on either side of the entrance, so one often has to walk through a cloud of smoke before entering. One last note: some of the regulars can be offputting. It's very hard to relax when some guy across the room is making misogynistic remarks or yelling about cocaine, and it seems to happen a lot. It's unfortunate that the management tolerates such crass behavior. When I see some of the more obnoxious or creepy customers are there, I usually make do with gas station coffee instead. Final verdict: it's not bad, but could be a lot better. read more

Cute little shop in downtown Columbia City. I love the smell of coffee. However, drinking even small amounts keeps me up. I do afford myself a cup or few every year, however it must be accompanied by pie. Regardless, they have tea, smoothies, baked goods, and live music on most Fridays. Granted, I am not a big fan of coffee places, so take that into mind with this review. HOWEVER, the wife IS a big fan of good hot drinks and when we are out shopping, we often stop past for a quick, but fresh drink. Both of us agree that the drinks here are definitely better than StarBuck's and the service is usually better as well (although have been there when young lady seemed to be playing with cell phone more than anything else.) The reason I LIKE the place is the scones, etc. are always very good and can always find something to nibble on while drinking the hot drinks. Also, they have had local original art on display, some of which is quite good (disclaimer: my opinion, your mileage may vary.) Have never used the Wi-Fi there, but seems there are always there that do, so it must at least work (unlike some other places in "THE City".) Overall, would recommend giving the place a try and see what you think! They will NOT poison you, that much I can assure you of! :) read more

This small town coffee shop has a lot of heart and is the reason that I would love coffee more than I use too. Sometimes they have gluten-free baked goodies and fresh cookies loaded with goodies.
