Baughan's is not competent to handle your taxes. We recently received a notice from the IRS that…read morewe owed on taxes from a couple of years ago. Since Baughan's is who we used that year we took it in to them for them to see what the issue was. We gave it to them with three weeks until the deadline set by the IRS. Robert Moorhouse took them and we were assured it was a minor issue that could easily be fixed. We called Mr. Moorhouse every couple of days to ask about progress. He told us every time he was almost done, not to worry, and the deadline didn't mean anything. Almost two weeks after the deadline, it was apparent he either did not know how to fix the issue or just didn't care if they got done. We had to insist they give us back all the paperwork so that we could get it to another CPA. That CPA found the original issue was due to improper forms being filled out, an easy fix, but when looking at our taxes for that year, he had to completely redo them. He said it was a mess! The new CPA got everything fixed in two days. I would never take taxes back to Baughan's ever again.

They ran into an issue with 1 form that my previous tax prep guy had no trouble with. Their plan was to call the IRS and wait indefinitely until the IRS called them back. They have been waiting over two weeks. Meanwhile my state taxes are now late and interest and penalties are piling up. No communication from them at all. Not even to keep me updated about what was going on. I just asked them for my taxes back and would take them elsewhere. When I went to collect my taxes they didn't even have the courtesy to speak with me. Couldn't even say "sorry we couldn't help you" or "we wish this would've gone better". Not very friendly to new clients. Unless you need help with a 1040ez form go elsewhere. By the way, they have an arbitrary mask policy. The only one in the office wearing one was the receptionist.
