I didn't want to even give the one star. ‍Today I took my mom for appointment with Dr. KENDALL, no…read moreone at the front desk, papers everywhere, front area was full of patients and the Dr was flighting with her assistant. She said she won't see any more patients until their paper work is not completed. Cancelled 2 appointments cause she was short staff and the office smell was unbearable. Thank God my mom's appointment was not an emergency and we just left. I think the wait time was close go 3-4 h if not longer. On top of everything she had one patient in the office checkup room and he was screaming his lungs off of being in pain. I though I was in a horror movie. What a joke of an office.

ZERO stars! My visit to Dr. Elena Kendall's office on 1/17/19 office was a nightmare. I arrived at…read more9:15 (15 minutes early) to an already full office. People who had appointments at 9 AM were still waiting. I checked in at the front desk with Tom, who was calm and pleasant for the duration of my time there. He explained the new patient paperwork I would be filling out for my 3.5 year old son. I completed the paperwork, and handed it back before our appointment time at 9:30 which came and went. It was now 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment, and I heard Dr. Kendall yelling from the back of the office to call the assistant and see where she was. It was clear one of the staff was late. We waited as patiently as we could while enduring impatient shouts from the doctor to bring patients back to the exam rooms- 45 minutes after their appointment time. My son became restless, so we took a short walk on the sidewalk outside. When I came back, there were even more patients in the waiting room. My coffee had been kicked over, though it was tucked under the chair. Instead of bothering poor Tom for paper towels, who was still calmly enduring Dr. Kendall's obvious frustration, I went and got some from the restroom and cleaned the mess. The assistants (at this point I learned it was two of them who were late) finally arrived an hour late, and Dr. Kendall yelled at them so loudly in the back of the office that everyone could here "This is the third time in a row! I just can't believe this!" My son asked why the lady was yelling. At this point, I had a good mind to leave, but my son has suffered from chronic eczema since he was 4 months old. We were finally granted a referral to the only dermatologist in our county who takes our insurance. I just wanted answers, so we toughed through the long wait and frantic impatience, hoping maybe the doctor would speak more calmly to her assistant while being in the same room as my child. We were finally taken back to an exam room, 1 hour after our appointment time. The assistant came in, looking beaten down and upset, and explained that they were going to do a patch test on my son to see if there is anything topical that is irritating his skin. She began taping on the patches, and Dr. Kendall came in and told her to hurry up. Dr. Kendall asked me a few routine questions about my son, and then directed her attention back to the assistant. She asked her to do something, but the assistant was still securing tape to my son's back. Not an easy job to do on a wiggly 3 year olds when the assistant didn't stop taping and immediately do what the doctor asked, Dr. Kendall began yelling "Now, now, now!" This made my son nervous, and he hugged me a little tighter. The assistant told me to secure the gauze with more tape when we got home to ensure it didn't fall off. They gave my son a shot to prevent a severe allergic reaction to anything they used in the test and took a biopsy of some of the skin on his arm. Dr. Kendall said to come back in two weeks, and they all left the room. As I was still dressing my son before they even changed the paper on the table, they brought another patient into the room! They didn't bother taking her back to the waiting room. They just left her there while they changed the paper and dressed my son. When I arrived at Winn Dixie to fill my son's prescriptions (which nobody at the dermatology office explained how to use), I found that the patch test had fallen off. I purchased gauze and medical tape while at the store, and held the patches on as best I could until I got home and put the patches back on myself. The steroids Dr. Kendall prescribed worked incredibly in just one day. I removed the patch test this morning (day 3, as instructed) and there were no results. I sent photos to Dr. Kendall's office along with letting them know that the assistant was too rushed, and the test originally fell off. I ask currently waiting on a response. Dr. Kendall is only in Bonita Sprigs one day every other week. She spends her other office days in Punta Gorda and Coral Gables on the other coast. She is very obviously spread too thin (her lack of patience and constant fluster proved as much.) In order to provide better care to her patients, she would be better off closing one of her offices to focus on the other two. I strongly advise against seeing this doctor. After our follow up appointment to get our biopsy results, I will be establishing care for my son with a different office, an hour away from home.
