I could not get an appointment as the assistant on the line was fixated on my insurance. What can I say beyond it is Aetna PPO. The fancy accent was nice but the place seems difficult to work with. ​First off let me say Harris Dermatology is a great place for skin care . My personal experience with Keith was very good I felt like he took the time to care about my needs and my concerns . Now for everyone seeing those two stars let me tell you the reasons why I will not be returning to the establishment . Upon my last visit which was back in I think February 2025. I went in for a routine visit and everything seemed normal there's a couple spots that I wanted to have taken off . The nurses assistant left the room to go check for insurance and came back and told me that there was an issue saying that I had to have clearance for my primary care physician before I could come and get anything removed . I work for the insurance company that I use and I know what my coverage carries I was allowed up to five biopsies a year without question . I explained this to the nurse who was very polite by the way and she's told me to hold on and she would check again . Then comes in the fun part . In walks in this tall blonde woman that had this look on her face like here we go again someone else that knows more than me kind of attitude. I explained to her my concerns and assured her that I knew what my coverage carried because I work for the insurance company . She insisted that I was wrong she did not let me speak she was very rude and forceful . She told me that I would have to go to my primary care physician first then get a referral to come back to get any biopsies . I'm sorry but my primary care physician is in a mole expert they aren't trained in melanoma which is why I came to this business . At this point I feel like it was a money grab I had already paid $130 that day they wanted me to go to my primary care physician pay another $100 copay then come back and pay another $130 for them to remove what could be removed right then and there . Me and my husband both have since found other care. Its a bummer that one person can ruin a whole experience. Upon a little investigation on this woman and prior places shes worked its a common pattern of behavior. I wish Harris Dermatology all the best but definitely need to weed out the bad egg​ read more

From the very first time we went to their office, the staff has always been polite, courteous, professional and always straight forward and concerned about our needs. We have never been hurried or rushed. Along with the doctors, the assistants and nurses are very pleasant and very knowledgeable about procedures. Be prepared that if you pay by credit card, you are authorizing them to charge your credit card for any remaining balance that your insurance company does not cover. They do not bill; they calculate the deductible at time of check out and if there is any remaining balance, you get an email stating that your credit card will be charged. They keep your credit card on file. I have never had any doctor or company hold my credit card information on file. read more

I think their dermatology acumen is adequate and they do a reasonably good job, but if you have a deductible on your Medicare advantage policy, be prepared to be billed for double what Medicare authorizes for the procedure or skin check they provide. My former dermatologist would often spray precancerous lesions with liquid nitrogen without an additional billing exceeding the Medicare remuneration. These folks don't really employ that procedure. That is probably a less expensive process than what this group would prefer to provide. But they have a large beautiful building which must be expensive. I won't be back read more

I have been going to Harris Dermatology for at least the last 9 or 10 years. I had set up an appointment for today .I got a call from them that I owed them money and I couldn't come in till I paid it. I got letter from them maybe six months ago that I owed money so I called them back. No answer. I left a message that I didn't owe them any money and would you please call me back. No call back. When I talked to the girl today, she said that my eye Med service wouldn't pay the bill ,and I'm thinking why would they be using my eye med insurance. They had my insurance info and updated insurance since I've been with them. She mentioned the letter they sent, and I told her that I called them and they didn't answer and they never called me back. I just assumed that they had figured out that I didn't owe them money . She says to me . you owe us $200.00 plus .I cannot remember the actual quote. She said it had been a year and they could not get that money back from my insurance company. That I had to come up with this cash before I could have an appointment with them. My husband and I went for our annual visits to Harris dermatology today after having canceled our routine Springtime appointments because of Covid. We have been home, basically isolating for six months now and it has been stressful and nerve-racking just to venture out these days. Needless to say, I was very anxious but knew I had no choice but to go as I have had experience with melanoma in the past. I was thrilled to see how Harris Dermatology is handling not only their staff's safety, but of course their patients' as well. The office was absolutely spotless, there was hand sanitizer stations throughout, appropriately spaced out seating in the waiting room and 6 foot markers on the floor near the reception desk. The receptionists were protected with Lucite screens and even the pens were sanitized after every use. I felt totally safe and so very pleased with the way this office is dealing with this pandemic. So very pleased with this Ft. Myers office - I had a discoloration of my skin, small and he didn't like the way it looked and did a biopsy. Then I got the phone call - it was melanoma and I went in for surgery immediately. Fortunately they got it all and that has been a year ago. I have been very faithful in getting my 3 month exams both here and Michigan. This year I went back to Dr. Harris for a full body scan - another "I don't like the looks of that" biopsy - he was squamous cell cancer. Scheduled for surgery and fortunately they did get it all the first time. Plan on spending the day. With a 930 am appt I arrived early at 9am and filled out my paperwork. Sat down and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more.. At 1130 am I asked the receptionist if I was going to be called anytime soon. Her response was " you should be seen shortly your appt was at 10." My response " my appt was at 930am. I was asked to arrive 30 min early to fill out 5 minutes worth of paperwork at 930am, besides the fact that it's 1130am NOW and I'll own the 30 minutes that I actually was early, do you think it's appropriate for me to sit for 2 HOURS to be told you should be seen shortly?" Her response, shouldn't be too much longer....cancel my appt... Thank you... Quite honestly, never will I walk into a place like that again...
