The only ones who do their jobs here are the porters. Everyone else is useless, including in house office staff.

There are three residential buildings and they have a huge resort-style pool. They also have a café right next door where you can order some very well-prepared food. Guests pay an admission price which varies depending upon the night and they have to be accompanied by a tenant. Some nights they have special events, such as Latin Night, where they provide live music, food and pool fun. Those nights cost more to enter. It's been so humid this year particular year and the pool, despite its depth and size, has been want all summer long. Two night out of the week they offer a late swim and extend their hours into the night which is fun because the pool lights up. We always bring a cooler with drinks and a bunch of snacking for everyone when we come over. It's a really nice pool and you almost feel like you're on vacation the way they have it set up. They even have a little wading pool for the kiddos, equipped with tons of toys. In the evening they convert a portion of the larger pool to lap lanes which is nice. You can definitely get a good workout, swimming back and forth for a good 20 minutes.

They do not return phone calls when you call them about an issue. But they put on a facade like all is well in the buildings and it is not. The door people who work in the lobby are horrible. There is a woman who works at the front desk in 5800 Arlington and she has a terrible nasty disposition. She has been there for years. Her name is Phyllis. Another person CARLOS, he spoke to me horribly and I wrote a letter about him and nothing was ever done about him. He left his post at the front to come down to the laundry room and verbally attack me! He should not have left his post. But he thinks that he runs this building and so I had to let him that he does not run this building but when people are given a little job it goes to their head. If this were a different kind of building, Carlos would have been fired! I would not buy anything in here! We spoke to a The Executive Director back in March 2021 and as of this writing it is now May 3, 2021, she has not called us back! She said that she would call us back and she has NOT! The place is ran like a project! When you have issues and problems here they will not get solved. All management wants is YOUR MONEY! One of the apartments underneath us took out the radiator in their bathroom and because of that we don't get any heat in our bathroom! We have not gotten heat in our bathroom for 10+ years. That's Just one of the problems. There is definitely a level of racism here. The caliber of people here is not good. The place is ran like a project! It is old, it is not modern. You pay a lot of money to live here. All they want is your money. The people at the front desk in 5800 Arlington Avenue are in everybody's business. They have an air about them which displays arrogance and rudeness. They are not professional at all.

Never saw a mouse or even a roach. Only had two cockroaches the entire time I've lived there. But I think the building had better management too back then. Sad that they replaced the former Property Manager Victor because it's been downhill ever since. Saw my first roach in that apartment this year and here I was thinking that would be the worst of my concerns. After living there for nearly 5 years, I can no longer stay for the remaining 4.5 months of my two-year lease due to a mice infestation that happened suddenly about a month ago and quickly spiraled out of control in a matter of days. So now I'm having to live with my family until the lease ends. Other tenants had warned me about their experiences with roaches and mice, but by that time, I had already signed the two-year lease. Hampton Management Co. and Tonel (Property Manager at the Century) don't want to let me out of my lease and have not been helpful in letting me know what has to happen in order for me to be let out of my lease. Imagine a mice infestation in a studio apartment. It's horrific. Yes, an exterminator came twice. And yes SOME of the holes were sealed. But this is a bandaid solution to a bigger issue. And every time I return to the apartment to pick up some of my belongings, I find more mouse droppings. The entire building needs to be swept, but I doubt that will happen. The mice are even coming out during the day. I can't even work from home if I wanted to because they've made a home on the top shelf of my desk. Until the building is under new management, I would strongly advise against renting here. If you've yet to experience roaches and mice, I'll tell you all just like another tenant told me, "JUST YOU WAIT!!!"

The knowing the unknown is tough enough, especially when it comes to looking for an apartmentment in the tri-state area, not working, receiving weekly benefits from unemployment, which I'm thankful for. Having been approved for HRA housing voucher, I understood the guidelines, but I felt that I was in a delima. I feverously called and emailed Real Estate Leasing Agents throughout the city and inquired about the listings that were advertised on various online platforms. I can tell you the amount of calls I had made being upfront and honest about my situation which was hard enough to admit I needed assistance for what I was going through. A very small percentage of those inquiries that I contributed many long hours to reaching out to, ever responded back to me. Often, the response to the question that I was asking regarding to whether or not the landlord would accept the HRA voucher as a form of rent payment for the month was "We will have to get back to you and ask the landlord." Did I hear back from the agent, No I did not. Now here is where the story gets better, I promise! I also have a Real Estate/Sales back round from several years ago working in the city and I appreciate the hustle. I know in order to find the "Right" apartment you have to do some footwork. I so happened to come across a listing for a "Newly Renovated" studio in Pelham Parkway in the Bronx. It really was a beautifully renovated apartment, no lie! no blind adds, no cutting around the corner, no brokers with the vibe of we will say anything to get our commission. When I tell you that Jared from Goldfarb Properties was so knowledgeable about the building, spoke about the staff that kept the building looking immaculate. Jared also spoke about the local stores, and highlighted how close the listing location was to Manhattan and to the freeway. Jared took several minutes to explained the voucher process when applying for any Goldfarb listing. There is some documentation that you have to provide, but as long as you keep all required documents organized, you will find yourself headed in the right direction. What got me was that when I asked about the housing voucher, Jared had me ready to put in a application that day. However I wanted to make sure that things were going in the right direction for a job that I was applying for. Fast forward, over the next couple of weeks I went to several other Goldfarb communities in the city, and I was SOLD completely on their apartments...The thoughtful craftmanship when it came to the renovations, the trendy wall paint, the beautiful wood floors, every detail to the door handles are just elegant and modern. But I have to say, I love the kitchen! Boy I'm ready to start cooking again, and hopefully I will be calling one of the Goldfarb apartments "My Home" in the near future. Thank you to Jared, to Elsie, and to all staff who make Goldfarb one of the best management companies that is in NYC. Thank you to all, and have a Blessed Day Joshua
