Do not hire this company to do work in your home. The rate they quote on the telephone is…read morepurposefully misleading, and reflects a PER PERSON rate, not a hourly rate, and they do not tell you how many people they are sending to do the work. Additionally, they will invoice you (without telling you) for cost-of doing-business expenses such as travel time to and from their other jobs, and for fuel, even if it is not warranted by the distance they travel to get to your home. They also charge additional fees for materials, removal, disposal and others, which they purposefully do not disclose to customers to agree to receive their services. The manager, Mell, does not seem to understand basic principles of decent customer service and claims that if you are happy with the work they did, which we were, that they reserve the right to charge whatever they think is fair. We ended up with a bill twice what we were quoted for labour and instead of acknowledging they have some work to do in the customer service department, they threaten you. Pretty terrible experience.

Needed and area of Trees removed. Down 2 Dig Excavation sent me an estimate for Mulching Services…read moreof $160 per hour. The area finally completed was 130ft by 60ft (about 8000 square feet). Larry was able to complete the job in less than 15Hrs. At the end of the job, he still charged me $8000 + tax. That's NOT $160 per hour as stated in the estimate, that's $533 an hour. All that was done was mulching and according to the estimate, Down 2 Dig Excavation should of charged me $160 x 15 hours plus the excavator delivery of $600. Which is about $3000 + tax. If I had known that $160 an hour was too low, we could of disused it prior to the start of the job.

It's hard to believe there is a company in today's day and age with such ethics. I will definitely be using them moving forward, and she was incredibly knowledgeable on the system and also able to give us some pros and cons of replacing another part of our system that has been giving us some grief.
