I recently decided to repaint my kitchen. After 3 (yes three!) coats of painting the wrong colour (I kept choosing different greys that either looked purple, green, or pink in different lights) I was burnt out. My husband and I are both self employed stay at home parents, so painting with two little kids around all the time was a nightmare. I found myself searching for someone to help me out of this predicament, and googled painters in Halifax. Larry's name was one of the first to come up. I spoke to a few different painters, but Larry was the first to actually come to our home to give us a quote. He showed up on time, took a look around, and offered his services. His quote was very reasonable. I asked for references, which he provided, and after calling them and hearing glowing reviews, we decided to hire him. Larry was professional. He was on time. He painted my kitchen like the pro he is. He was quick and very clean. He used drop sheets, so paint didn't splatter anywhere, and vacuumed after the job was done. He even went above and beyond, fixing up some trim that had come loose prior to his visit, and repainting the trim to give everything a clean, polished look. He was also great with the family. As I stated, we are all home, all the time. My youngest still naps, and the kids go to bed at around 7. Larry continued quietly painting around our family activities and wasn't intrusive into our routine at all. We hired him to paint our entire house. I'm serious, every room. I was referred to Larry by a friend from work, and I am absolutely satisfied with all the work that he's done so far. I've always been really skeptical of handyman services, as a lot of the time they're untrained guys who don't know anything but own a tool belt. Larry is definitely the exception: knowledgeable, professional, efficient, cost-effective, and just a really nice guy in general. He knew right from the start that I was not looking to hire him but just to ask what might be the best product to stain or paint my veranda and steps with. Larry the painter/fix-it guy is awesome! We got a lot of quotes for painting our house interior and his quote was the most competitive. He is an absolute perfectionist and he fixed every little blemish or nail pop he could find (this was something that we didn't even know he'd do when he gave us the quote!).
