The art at the museum is beautiful with a great collection. However, the only thing I wish is of this museum were bigger. While it's easy to spend 1-2 hours here, the museum does feel small compared to others I've been to. Other than that though, the collection is wonderful!

Most important to the artists is that this is a juried show. There's always awards for each category. This is also a win for us customers as 1)A good variety means multiple purchases 2)Everyone would like an art piece from a winning artist. This certainly has expanded over the years. In previous years it was held at McPherson Complex which was always nice and was on grass so it was a comfortable walk. The last 2 years now it has been held downtown over several different areas. I love that it is the only event downtown that has an entire designated handicap parking area. I don't care for that as it is spread out over different areas and there's a ton of walking involved. And it's all on hot cement. Add to that fact that the entire downtown streets are closed down for 2 days and it makes for mayhem to the drivers. Other than the art vendors there are a ton of other happenings. There's live performances of some type at 2 different stages that changes every couple of hours. If you're hungry there's a few food trucks parked in a designated area and the local school walks around selling bottled water that won't break the bank. It's always a great outing for anyone. If you're an art lover and happen to miss it, most of the art vendors attend a similar art show in Gainesville not long after this on.

We've always found the museum closed on Memorial Day, This year, it was open. The exhibits cover many topics related to the history and businesses of this small old Florida town. Why wouldn't you? This place and these guides are giving you such wonderful experience and information about a really great historical town that is famous in Florida. The antiques that they have here for everyone to see are just amazing. I've used their services four times so far and couldn't be happier with the results. Karine approaches each project with a keen eye; partnering frame, glass, and mounting which perfectly complements each individual piece. In one instance, she completely changed my mind from what I had originally thought I wanted and her suggestion was totally on the mark. The shop also offers restoration of damaged works. If you have a piece that you hold close to your heart and feel it is beyond salvaging, bring it in and get Karine's opinion. She'll give you an honest and forthright opinion and you might be pleasantly surprised. I have high standards and always hope those standards can be met, but am usually disappointed with the results. Karine and her staff not only met my standards but exceeded them and then some. Highly recommended!

Would love to see more historical images of downtown Ocala and Silver Springs. Well worth an hour or two of your time if you are a history buff.
