I'm pasting a review that I wrote originally on Facebook:…read more Last week, I dropped off 19 sheets of 40"x60" Crescent mat board to be cut down into a specific number of blank and windowed mats. I paid $180. I left a computer-generated diagram with the EXACT dimensions of what I needed, including ten 32"x48" boards (five with windows) and twenty-six 22"x30" boards (thirteen with windows). I noticed when I dropped them off that several of the sheets were damaged at the edges and corners, but since none of the sizes I needed would require a full sheet, I figured the damage would be cut away to make my finished dimensions. I also figured my instructions would be followed because they were not ambiguous. After all, I paid almost two hundred dollars for these guys to cut openings in mat board that I provided. I was told by the person that referred me to this company that they have a computerized cutter. If these are the results I can expect from a computer-controlled machine, I have to assume the machine is broken or it was programmed incorrectly, indicating human error: None of the sheets are the same size as any other that is supposed to share the same measurements. ALL of the bevels are overcut. Instead of being centered on the boards (as per my instructions), the windows are slightly (sometimes more than slightly) off center. The shop had the opportunity to re-use the window cut-outs on the five larger mats for five of the smaller mats. On those five mats, they didn't bother to trim away the beveled edge left from when those boards were removed from the larger mats. In other words, there is a bevel on two outside edges of five of the smaller mats. While none of these things creates an insurmountable obstacle, they are all extremely unprofessional. The only reason I needed these done at all was because my own mat cutter isn't large enough to create the 32"x48" boards, and I figured I would just let this place cut everything for me and save some work. I will admit that the order was five boards short due to my own error in ordering the sheets. Luckily, I have enough spare mat board at home and the sizes that were not delivered are small enough that I can cut them myself, but none of that excuses the results I saw today. Due to time constraints associated with the project I'm working on, there is no time to re-order new boards and have them cut again. I just hope I'm able to make these work and I hope my client (City of Ocala) doesn't mind the small glitches in what has now become my own product.

We stopped by last minute to take a few graduation photos of my niece before heading to her ceremony, and the grounds made the perfect backdrop. We didn't have much time to explore because we were trying to get to graduation, but everywhere we looked was beautiful. The property is well maintained, clean, and full of gorgeous photo opportunities.

UPDATE (July 2026): I also posted this review on a wedding review website. Approximately 18 months…read morelater, The World Equestrian Center disputed that review and asked the platform to remove it. I provided documentation supporting the factual statements in my review, yet it was still removed based on a technical eligibility determination, not because my experience was found to be untrue. Based on the platform's published review policies and the timeline of my case, I believe the review was removed in error. In my opinion, this is another example of WEC choosing to challenge customer criticism rather than take accountability. It only reinforces the lack of professionalism we experienced throughout our wedding planning process. I stand by every word of my original review and hope other couples will carefully consider our experience when choosing a wedding venue. - original review- Brides and grooms, beware. My fiancé and I signed a contract with the World Equestrian Center in December 2023 for our wedding ceremony in the Chapel and our reception on the Stirrups Terrace. We were thrilled, believing we had secured our dream wedding. However, just 41 days before our big day, I discovered on WEC's website that they were hosting a Grand Prix event in the main arena and selling tickets for a dining experience on the Stirrups Terrace where our dream reception was to take place. Learning about this significant change online, rather than through our WEC representative, highlights their unprofessionalism--unacceptable for a venue of this caliber. When we confronted WEC, they admitted to being aware of the conflict but insisted we relocate our reception to another area. All that was offered to my fiancé and I for this massive inconvenience was a 40 x 40 tent for 74 guests. Since we were unwilling to move our reception to a new location, WEC cancelled our contract with 37 days to go before our wedding date. They also refused to mass cancel our room block so my fiancé and I had to contact every guest that booked at the hotel to call and cancel. This breach of contract has utterly ruined our wedding day. It feels like a blatant bait-and-switch, driven by greed; they clearly prioritize making money over honoring commitments to their clients. They will toss aside your wedding contract if a better offer comes along. I strongly advise prospective couples to consider other options before trusting the World Equestrian Center with such an important occasion.
