During this event there are participating shops and you are given a card to have stamped at each vendor and then you are entered in a drawing for gift baskets and cards once you have visited 10 shops. This shop has very nice decor items and furniture. They also had some clothing. I did not buy anything from this shop this time but I will still make a future visit to see what new items they come up with.

There is public and street parking close to Blackbird Nest and the other shops I wanted to visit. As I entered Blackbird Nest I received a pleasant greeting. The Blackbird Nest specializes in redesigned modern, antique and vintage furniture along with home decor, lamps, new clothing, bath and body products, prints, florals and wreaths plus holiday decor. The shop has several smaller rooms with various items incorporated throughout but items are organized well and prices are clearly marked. I liked seeing furniture, clothing, home and holiday decor all tastefully arranged together in each space. The store has a few narrow isleway's but most are spacious enough to browse comfortably down. They do have a dressing room to try on clothing you are interested in. If you're in Franklin make time to visit Blackbird Nest. Terrific location for gifts, clothing and unique furniture.

Don't let the stairs deter you from visiting as a ramp is located to the left of the stairs. It is slightly steep but manageable for most. You are entering two floors of gorgeous country, farmhouse, and primitive decor. Every inch of the two floors is staged beautifully. Most of the items sold have wonderful displays of how to use the merchandise. Wonderful ideas, and if you have any questions, just ask for assistance. The owner, I'm assuming, was friendly and answered all my questions. She allowed us to wander at our pace and not be underfoot. I was only capable of browsing the main floor today, but I do plan on returning to tackle the second floor stairs on May 6th. I love 95% of every display I saw. The merchandise is lovely, good quality, and makes an instant impact on your decor. Regardless of your decor, you'll most likely find something you can add to your home. Well, they have some regular hours for the holiday season and now is the perfect time to go see this Francine's, which is in the same location as 7th Avenue Nails & Spa. The owner, Tammy, is a wonderful lady and soooo friendly! The boutique has a nice selection of vintage women's clothing- mostly dresses and coats, a few pairs of shoes and some BEAUTIFUL vintage ladies' hats. Tammy told me that she focuses on acquiring clothing from the 30's-70's and she makes sure that every piece is in excellent condition. The prices aren't bad at all, and they are running a 30% off every item in the store sale right now. There's also a nice selection of vintage costume jewelry and some handmade scarves. As I mentioned, there are several vintage coats on the racks here, and when I asked Tammy about a particularly saucy leopard print one, she revealed that vintage coats are her true passion. The prices aren't bad at all, especially with the extra 30% discount! Since there's a nail salon here too, I happened to be lucky enough to pick up a few bottles of clearance OPI and China Glaze at only (drumroll please) $2 a bottle! Wow, I am really excited about these - four bottles for less than the price of one normally! One of the best things about Francine's is their merchandise from the Anne Taintor (www.annetaintor.com) collection. These vintage-inspired accessories for modern life are hilarious. Go to the website and check them out. Tammy let me know that Francine's is the exclusive southside retailer to carry the line. If you have any woman on your Christmas list this year, you are sure to find a perfect gift for her in this collection. Francine's is having a holiday extravaganza the weekend of December 6 and 7. It is full of the whole range of clothing for women as well as shoes and bags and other accessories. It is laid out in sizes and styles (tops versus sweaters etc). It has quite a few racks but seems well spaced, but it might be hard to navigate if you have mobility challenges. There are no steps leading into the store however so that is great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are several spacious fitting rooms as well as a bathroom (for those shopping after a coffee break)! I loved their sales items which gave me some great deals, but I was also able to get some fun nicer stuff outfits for friends and pick up some gifts. I've been back a few times and love just browsing. It is a great spot for slightly used but well maintained items. Often too I've come home with brand new things with original tags still attached! I would highly recommend this option for those wanting to save on brand new purchases but get some good options. I decided to stop in and ended up spending a glorious 2+ hours scouring the shelves. I even skipped anything in cases just to draw a line somewhere and prevent myself from moving in...which I was tempted to do. It's very well-attended; the entire lot was full, but I got a spot as someone left, and because the place is so big you are still able to browse without getting in the way of others.

This is a fun place to visit, even when you're not shopping! So much fun simply browsing the vast…read moreselection. They constantly get new items in, so never expect to see the same thing.
