Hats, tee-shirts, and other goodies. There's plenty of space for tables and seating, if only COVID wasn't running the show. One of these days, lockdowns will be over, and we will all be discovering what the "new normal" looks like. That time is unfortunately not yet now, but we'll get there once everyone is vaccinated. The owner/operator doing his shift the day we were there was friendly and helpful; he even guided us over the phone when we got lost looking for the place (the street is horse-shoe shaped and we were at the wrong end). Storm Stayed has lots of their own beers plus lots of guest brews to choose from. I had two types, their Daybreak (blonde ale), and their Bad Math. Both were very refreshing and SO delicious. Having been to a few small craft brewers here in town, I'd say that Storm Stayed had the best taste hands down! In addition to great beer, they have lots of seating and lots of games you can pick up and play. I love that they push a 'sit anywhere' policy. I'm sure on busy evenings, this would be a great way to meet people! Storm Stayed gets a half a mark off for overall atmosphere. If you are looking for something cozy and intimate, this may not work for you. With its tall, bare, white walls, large spaces between tables, and echo-y acoustics, it can feel kind of cold and cavernous. The top 40 music being played from the tiny speaker in the corner didn't really fit in either. These things, however, will not keep me away. We've had dinner at some, but at others, I have just bought cans of beer to go (usually I put in a bit more cash and get 18 cans). This place must not have had a proper gift certificate, because I just had a "pint card" (4 beers value - $34) and the balance was rung up as 2 X 473mL lagers, for about $50. I explained to the server that I was sure this was meant to represent a $50 gift card and she said it was just a pint card and my boss must have drank the two tall boys there (while touring around Guelph to get gift cards at 2pm). Anyway, I finally took the 4 cans, which were $34 plus tax, although for $30, you could get 6 cans. I'm probably going on too long about this, but I feel like I was ripped off and this is my only way to deal with it, emotionally. Anyway, I will never go back there again, and please, never buy a gift certificate from this establishment.
