We dined with two of our cousins last evening. Delish fresh green salads the kitchen happily split for us. Raspberry dressing was perfect!! Each couple ordered a filet and a crab cake so we could enjoy our own version of surf and turf. Superb crab cake; tender and juicy filet. Two sides are included-the asparagus were tender and flavorful; risotto was yummy! Next time we will each order a salad. Andrew was our server-attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Check out the restrooms-immaculate and the guys responded theirs was "comical." read more

We decided to try Bricks around 6:30 on a Friday night as were visiting a patient at Hamot. It was not crowded at all, in fact there was only one other small group seated at a table. We waited over 5 minutes at the hostess station and eventually walked back into the kitchen area to find anyone that could tell us if we could seat ourselves. The menu was very limited for dinner, but the lunch time menu seemed a bit larger. The prices are rather high. I ordered the French onion soup and was mildly disappointed. The cheese did not cover the top, in fact I could hardly see any melted cheese and the onions were sparse. The broth was tasty. My companion ordered the soup of the day which was shrimp bisque and it looked and tasted good. We left after our soup without ordering further. I would not make a special trip into the city for this one. read more

From start to finish the meal was fantastic. Five of us had a different appetizer and entree and all of them were delicious and beautifully plated. Our server was delightful and attentive. I was staying nearby for a couple of nights in Erie and decided to give this place a shot. I popped in for an early dinner and could not have been happier with my choices. Every employee I interacted with was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was very good and the ambiance was exactly what I was looking for. It was a little odd to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, but all of the kitchen staff greeted me warmly and it was nice to have a chance to thank them directly after my meal. It becomes my lunch spot just like Subway. As a freelancer I got my time to chew my food and do some thinking and pretend like an old philosopher. I just came to live in Erie since the start of July. And already visited this place three times, one time in the evening and two times during lunch. Pros: 1. Delicious fries, all the time they have great fries. 2. Good steak, good portion, low price like $30-40 for a 12oz steak. It is quite cheap and made me abandon my beloved Subway. 3. There are many civilized and good mannered old people dining here. I suppose old fellows know their food and it is quite enjoyable to hear them talking. Cons: 1. Slow service, they are horribly understaffed and you should not come to this place if you were already hungry as it will make you starve. I cannot even imagine if more people come, how could they manage it. 2. Some staff lack training. They will forget to introduce themselves . And forget to bring you cutlery if you do not ask it yourself, you will have to grab it with your hand to eat. Thus, I have to consider myself is a barbarian and ask the cutlery myself. Lol But all in all, I will come back. It is a good place for lunch. Decent atmosphere and decent ribeye steak. ( I think they do their ribeye the best among Delmonico's and porterhouse. read more

The loudest restaurant I've ever been to. No top shelf liquor. In fact, the waitress wasn't even able to tell us what the bourbon or vodka choices were. Given that there is no bar, there's no way for the customer to review spirit choices except the other menu or waitress. I'm being kind with a two star rating. Where to start.......the decor is less than warm or welcoming with drab army green walls, metal and wood furniture, dime store art work and poor lighting. There were two other tables occupied with diners ( a total of four other people). The restaurant was not busy at 6 pm. Our server, Ashley is in need of training. Table was set with one side of the table having the water glasses on the right hand side of the place settings and the other side having them on the left. There were four of us at the table and when serving, Ashley reach over the long side of the table in order to serve the other end even though there was ample room to walk to the other side.. Condiment ramekins had more on the outside wall than inside the bowl. Ashley was so unattentive that on two occasions I took it upon myself to fill water glasses at our table. We requested more pita bread for our appetiizer and it was served with our entree. The food.........One halibit dinner and one crab cake diner were passable. The two hand cut strip steaks were tough, hard to cut and chewy. Half way through my steak I simply gave up, the effort to cut and chew was simply not worth the effort. the flavor of the steak was mediocre at best, lacking any seasoning (salt and pepper). The french fries were luke warm and limpy and the top half of the grilled asparagus was the most satisfying part of my meal the bottom half matched the steak; tough. We requested to speak to the manager and requested that our steaks be taken off our bill, she complied. As I previously stated a two star rating is being kind. We all agreed that we will not be going back to The Brick. read more
