Bridal Veil Falls in Multnomah County offers two short trails: a paved overlook trail with panoramic Columbia River Gorge Views and a steep rocky trail leading to the base of the two tied Bridal Veil Falls. This park can be found just off the Columbia River Highway. The overlook trail from the parking lot is just 0.5 mile loop , whereas the Falls trail is 0.3 mile descent to the base of the 120 foot falls. The falls trail is a bit dangerous during the raining season, as slippery, so wear good shoes and be careful. During off season this trail tends to be empty. On the day that we visited, just after Xmas the parking lot was empty. It was raining and cold during the day. During the summertime, I imagine the parking lot could fill up quickly as not super big. Although less people know about this fall, even though its close to all of the other big falls in the area. If visiting during the winter time, you may rewarded with a very full waterfall- in 2025 during the holiday season the falls were very full. In the summertime, the water levels will be limited.
Must stop by here if you're in the area. The view is amazing. I didn't get to check out the fall but the outlook is gorgeous!! There's parking for a fee. A small walk area before reaching the outlook. I really enjoyed this one. One of my favorites of the day.
Bridal Veil Falls in the Columbia River Gorge and a moderately sized waterfall. This waterfall is hidden gem, with less than 10 visitors, so we got the waterfall to ourselves for a bit. The Bridal Veil Falls is definitely worth a visit if you're already nearby. As I said within the area, there's over 70 waterfalls. The Park Ranger shared that name "bridal veil" is type of waterfall style. Interesting!!! Bridal Veil Falls is not the tallest or most famous waterfalls in the gorge, but it offers a good experience with just the right amount of hiking with lots of view across the river. The trail to the falls is short -- about 0.5 miles round trip -- but it's a bit steep and can be slippery after rain, so wear good shoes, as I saw a few visitors unable to walk down the path to be closer to the base waterfall. And in the general area, we found the last crop, from this season's of blackberries ....I braved it and ate a handful of them and luckily no stomach aches! Hahahah WARNING: This is a few area that have poison ivy do please be careful.

A 2/3rds of a mile hike. Quick and enjoyable in my opinion. I'd say, if you're coming here from Vista House and maybe stop by Latourell Falls, then plan a stop here. This one has a small parking lot and restrooms, but I feel most folks avoid this one because of the short hike. I've seen many families do this hike with ease. Even my niece with a foot cast on made it through. Though maybe not so easy for folks with disabilities. Here's more of a description: The trail zig-zags downward, so be aware during the winter time as it can be muddy or icy. Dry and manageable during the summer. A couple of small bridges, a few stairs along the way, and a small wooden deck for observations. I've even witnessed folk climb along the side of the falls and head back to the parking lot. Excellent for pictures, but can be a bit crowded at times. Regardless, these falls are worth a visit, if you ask me!
A beautiful place to hike to see pretty waterfalls. It's calm and serene. It's good to be hanging out in the company of nature. I love the sounds of waterfalls. There's a nice trail that you hike down to get to Bridal Veil Falls and the view is worth the short hike.
I've never been to this waterfall before, but I've known of it for years, but I'm glad I finally got to do this and had a picnic there. Got a great spot with two tables and a beautiful view of the river. Day started off cloudy but it ended up getting sunny later on after our lunch. Short walk to the waterfall but very beautiful and great scenery and a whole bunch of old rusty nails, which I'm not sure if that's from a long long time ago and what not but still awesome, minus the tetanus so be careful. I definitely recommend coming here.
Visted during the week at the end of October and hardly anyone was on the trail at the time. Parking was easy and as you pull in you see the picturesque lodge and the trail head starts right by the bathrooms. If you didn't want to head down the trail to the falls you can take in the sites of the Columbia River just to the left of the bathrooms. Heading down the trail is relatively easy though it's good to be wearing some shoes with grip as some areas could be slippery. The trek back up the trail is a little more intense but not overwhelmingly so and the effort is so worthwhile as the falls itself is a site to behold and the hike was one of our favorites. So much beauty to take in and many photo moments along the way as you traverse down to the creek and waterfall area. Highly recommend going in the "off-season" and also getting there early. We arrived just after 9 a.m. and literally just two other cars in the parking lot.
I haven't done much hiking, so I like the trails at Bridal Veil Falls because they're relatively easy and good for beginners. The longer trail to and from the waterfall is about 2/3 miles round-trip, and whenever we've done it, it's been easy to combine with other sites on the same day because it's short. I like that the falls here are further from the road, so you end up in a peaceful viewing spot. There is also a nice-sized parking lot at the entrance to the trails, but it can get crowded on a nice day.
Very scenic. Trails kind of slick, but it's winter right? Nice views, no trash, and very quiet.
I went to this waterfall a few times, mostly on Memorial weekend. Short hike with pretty scenery. I like in July, the weather is perfect and it is green everywhere. Small parking lot Bathroom on beginning of the trailhead Hike is 2/3 mile round trip -- Out and Back Trail is some pavement, dirt, stairs and bridge. Not Stroller Friendly. Easy with slightly downhills 1 Resting beach half way the trail and one end of the fall
Multnomah Falls is the beauty and most visited waterfall in Oregon, but Bridal Veil falls is underrated and beautiful too. Wish more people could see that. Short hike, take 15 mins to reach the falls. There are some inclines, some of the hike is paved, but mostly dirt path. You do cross a foot bridge before reaching the falls. There is lookout tower you can take pics at. I went down the hill to see the falls closer look, it was magical seeing the light hit the top of the falls. Felt mesmerizing and relaxing to watch the water fall down. Took a slow mo video. Plus my bf and I were the only hikers on this trail, had the whole waterfalls to ourselves Wed morning. It was a treat. We spent 20 mins here before heading to Multnomah falls. Plenty of parking and the restrooms are open. Clean and well maintained trail. This is one of the many waterfalls or hiking trails along the Columbia gorge scenic route.

Beautiful! Stunning! The name is so fitting as the way the falls cascade down is sort of like a Bride's veil. There are about 20 stalls in the parking area. Cars are always coming and going so it shouldn't be an issue. The trail is right off of the parking area. It's only a 2/3rd mile hike to and from the falls with about a 70-foot elevation. It's very doable. The first short portion of the trail is paved then it becomes gravel. You'll cross a short wooden bridge that goes over the runoff from the falls. This is a perfect spot to take a few pictures. You climb some steps to get to the lookout. Such a beauty! We stayed for a few to just take it all in and take some pictures. On the way back up is a bit steep but nothing anyone can't handle. It's like climbing a bunch of flights of stairs. The trail is so short the climb back up will be over before you know it. The lookout trail does not overlook the falls. It's a nice flat walk around and has a view of the Columbia. read more
My personal favorite waterfall of all the ones in this state park. The hike is not too bad all the way down to the waterfall but make sure and where hiking shoes or at least good tennis shoes as there is some moisture on the Rocks if you want to go down to where the water is and climb up on the overlooking boulders. Be cautious not to touch the plants around the trail as there is a lot of poison oak in that area. This stuff has a similar effect on people as poison ivy causing itchiness and redness if you make contact with the oil from the plant. But don't let that stop you go out there and see this amazing waterfall for yourself. read more
This is definitely one of the waterfalls you want to make the time to check out! Gorgeous view, the hike itself was very easy. Just be careful of the icey trails! Also if you're able to climb down a bit closer to the waterfall, it makes you feel so small! read more

The hike to the waterfall is super short, and it's a nice pitstop to make when you're driving along the Historic Columbia River Highway. Won't take long, and another thing to cross off your checklist. :D read more
I loved this area more than multnomah falls, way less crowded. Parking is easy and it's a 15 min walk to the falls. There are a few walking bridges on the way too that are really nice. The walk there was mostly downhill so be prepared to walk back up.. read more

One of the easier and most beautiful hike to be stunned by such beautiful waterfall and creek. The loop is perfect for people with children or solo travelers. If you arrive early in the morning like any other famous stop along the Columbia River Gorge, you can enjoy the whole waterfall to yourself and take stunning pictures. This specific waterfall is one of my favorite ones like The Multnomah Falls which is approximately 3 miles from each other. Enjoy the trip ! read more
The hike was stunning! There was so much to see and loved how green everything was. The extra layer of moisture from the weather just made everything that much more refreshing. Parking is free and they have their own private lot. We went at 11:00AM and it was pretty empty. It was just me and my boyfriend and a family of 4. Most of the hike was just to ourself since there was so little of us. We made it to the landing at the end of the hike at Bridal Veil Falls that made for a prefect picture taking and viewing area. We stayed for a little bit before walking back. I definitely would recommend hiking shoes with grip as most of the area was wet when we went in December! read more

You can walk 1/2 mile to see an overlook or walk 3/4 miles to see the waterfall. We did both even though I was not in proper shoes, it is rocky so it wasn't the most comfortable walk. Just wear good shoes unlike me! The overlook was very beautiful, and the waterfall was incredible. There was a few other parties there but not overly crowded and everyone had a mask on. read more

Short and easy hike and no traffic when we went. Some snow on the track that we had to walk through - but other than that it was a smooth and easy hike with great views. Felt like a loss less than the 2.4 miles. There is also a short scenic loop just by the parking lot for some beautiful pictures. read more
Right now it's not an actual HIKE HIKE, it's more a 15-20 minute stroll to the viewing platform and back. (Granted there is a slight incline downwards and then upwards, and if it's raining it can be wet and slippery). Theoretically if it's not raining you could easily get to the viewing platform in converses or vans. Parking is free, and the parking lot is pretty easy to find if you plug it into your GPS. There's also different paths you can walk besides just going to the waterfall, and some of them are wheelchair accessible. The waterfall is pretty raging and if you go down to the base of it to eat lunch that's super cool too. Lots of benches along the way if you need a rest. Very easy access compared to other waterfalls, very kid and elderly friendly. read more

Really Nice Waterfall With An Easy Short Hike! This is a worthwhile spot to see while you are making your way along the waterfall corridor. After coming down from the Vista House my friend and I stumbled upon bridal veil falls which was a sight to see. It was a nice stop in between destinations vista house and Multnomah falls. It's a rather short hike to see such awesome waterfall views. We came around late Morning which did attract some foot traffic but it wasn't unbearable. It was simply also nice to see people in nature and being active. read more

The Historic Columbia River Highway passes over Bridal Veil Falls on a bridge but its so narrow you cannot walk to see the falls from the bridge. From a parking lot on the highway, a winding footpath that after a bit drops down which would have been fine, but we didn't make it that far as my friend is in his late 70"s and got too winded. at the bottom, there is another bridge lead to a vantage point for the falls. The falls consists of two cascades in quick succession along angling rock faces, so when there is a good amount of water the falls looks very much like its namesake. A cool thing I heard is that here is a post office in the nearby community of Bridal Veil, and many couples have their wedding invitations shipped there in order to have the town's postmark applied to them. cool idea! read more
It's a nice, scenic waterfall (waterfalls? Two tiered sections)... ...but the sounds of the highway are too distracting. The trail has a lot of elevation changes, only moderately groomed (usually wet) gravel. I wouldn't say to avoid it, but if your time is short, skip it in favor of something else. This place was pretty deserted, which was nice. It's a pretty short (although steep) trail you can definitely check out if you are in the area, or if waterfalls are your thing. I'd recommend nearby Latourell Falls above this one. Multnomah is for sure the most scenic and impressive, but also the most crowded. read more
-Winter Review- A bit of a walk to the waterfall, but it's ONLY 2/3 miles roundtrip! Along the route of all the waterfalls, Bridal Veil gives you a close up with the patio next to the waterfall. The bonus of this place is the 'lake' feel with the rocks along the water that you can climb onto for a fantastic photo opportunity! During the winter time, you need to watch out for the black ice along the route to the falls. It can be tricky and somewhat dangerous...just be careful, but it's worth it! read more
Oregon you are so beautiful! Oregon you have so much to offer. Oregon, I love you. I love Oregon,yes yes. So clean ,so beautiful, so lovely. These falls are so nice. It just takes you back in time. The smell , the look, and the clean air. All these things in one place. I read in Paulina's review that she saw a lot of poison Ivy. I thought it was just me, because, I always seem to spot all those types of things. But, yes there was a lot around. All over the woods every where we went it seemed. Easier to walk down the hill than up I say. I guess that I am a bit out of shape. Clean, fresh, and beautiful. A nice place to remember. read more
5 min walk down and 5 min walk up to witness these beautiful waterfalls. It's a beautiful, green, quick, and easy hike. Refreshing breeze with plenty of shade from trees. Try not to touch plants because poison ivy is nearby. I highly recommend these Columbia River Gorge waterfalls that are quick to view and love. read more
Just beautiful ! I took the small hiking trail which was really nice we went on a rainy day which is perfect for us since we just love the rain the little walk was nice you can hear the birds sing and listen to wind blow a very nice calm walk as I drew closer to waterfall you can hear it get louder you can definitely feel it much cooler, I love how it has a viewing point so you can see the waterfall which is nice but very slippery so I recommenced that you take some good non slip shoes, you can actually go down as well were you can get closer if you want to take a nice walk I definitely recommend it here it's also kid friendly my daughter loved it ! read more

It was great hike even with my toddler and baby! It has two hike trail. One is to see the bridal vail water fall, and one is a lope trail to view the Columbia river. The water fall hike is very steep and has some stairs at the bottom but my 3yrs old made it both ways! You get to play with the water and my 9mo old loved it too! The other lope trail to view the river is nice since it's concrete so I was able to go with the stroller without any problem. But if right above highway, so the noise was not pleasant... there are some picnic to see the river but we end up at the picnic table to eat lunch next to parking lot since the car noise bothered us. But it's great little hike with toddler! read more
This is a great stop if you want to see a beautiful waterfall without having a lot of time or don't want to walk/hike far. The sign posts a 2/3 mile loop down a well maintained dirt trail with strategically placed benches if you need a break. The waterfall fits its name bridal veil as it's a dense wide full white fall that cascades down to another fall. read more

This was an easy 2/3 trail RT with some elevation loss at the beginning. The waterfall was incredible and there is a rock in front that you can stand on to take pretty photos:) I didn't see any poison ivy on the trail, but there was a sign for it. Took us 20 minutes RT with lots of photos included at the waterfall. read more

Take a short hike to the falls. All ages can pretty much walk there. Just wear some stable shoes as there are pebbles in the walk route that could have you slip if you're not careful. Great little viewing areas. This is a mid size falls not like Multnomah and not as small as Horse Tail Falls. Still...splendor and beauty in mother nature. Don't forget the camera. Parking is not a lot but pack some patience and you will get it eventually. Hope you all have a day like this..not blasting sunshine but warm with sun breaks. No rain! Perfect! read more

Ten minute hike to the fall with an easy trail. You can go off the beaten path to get an even closer look. Not recommend for kids to get a closer look. The falls have a safe deck to get a cool view too. read more
Nice trail in the forest along wooded path, you can see the gorge and the river along the trail. Not a difficult trail at all, 2/3 mile round trip to hit the falls. Nice wooden bridge to cross over, lovely deck to observe the falls. Truth be told, just didn't like these falls as well as some of the others, not as good photo ops, but the creek running from the falls was awesome. read more

It's a easy and short hike. It takes about 20 minutes to see the falls by walking. There is a large parking lot and walk towards the signs and you will see Bridal Veil Falls Hike, just follow the path, pass a bridge and it will be on your right. It's a beautiful waterfall! read more
