Her response came off cold, dismissive, and completely uninterested in the fact that their mistake had real consequences for me. Instead of taking ownership or offering real help, the explanation was basically a quick brush-off labeled as "human error," as if that magically excused everything. What made it worse was the tone -- like I was the inconvenience for asking why I was suddenly expected to pay far more than what Christy herself had confirmed. There was no sense of accountability, no recognition of the office's own miscommunication, and absolutely zero acknowledgment of the impact this caused. The entire situation left me feeling like accuracy and transparency simply weren't priorities for her. And the fact that someone in the office even referred to her as the "billing manager" just added to the mess. He is always thorough, explains everything at my level, and is available for me to contact him should I have any issues. Absolutely top-shelf doc! His staff is friendly and helps to accommodate your schedule, they take most insurance, and they work with you during the entire process. While I hope that you don't have to have an oral surgery procedure, just know that if you do, this is one of the best places you can go in the Kansas City area.

I was seen within one day of my phone call and the surgery was two days later. The day of surgery I was extremely nervous but Dr. Merkel took the time to reassure me that the tip removal would take only two minutes and be totally pain free. He was true to his word and it took longer for the novicane to take effect than it took for him to remove the root tip. I as in and out within obe half hour. However, the office told me that they couldn't find a record that I had already paid for it (?!?). And they can't grant my requests: (1st) hygiene; (2nd) fix the settlement so that I could speak like I used to; (3) find a record of me paying for a new set of screws. Can you believe it? Putting in upper and lower implants cost me more than $40k, and every 6 months, I would have to pay at least $300+ for the hygiene. It seems to me that if I don't, either the lower or the upper one will come loose. I don't know exactly why it has happened like that, but they do get loose every 6 months or so. Bad design or bad practice? Who knows? I also paid $600+ for a new set of screws. The whole thing isn't cheap; it's rather very expensive. But it hurts me more that they treated me like this after I have been their customer for more than 7 years. Very frustrated! I don't know who else I should escalate this problem. Based on our interaction with him, I would say any reviews that mention his lack of patience are most likely factual.
