If you're thinking about going to Oral & Facial Associates, I strongly recommend you take a minute…read moreand read this, because my experience with their practice administrator, Christy Loudermill, was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional encounters I've ever had in a medical setting. I went into this office with a confirmed price -- written, verified, and repeated back to me. I did everything right on my end so there would be no surprises. Unfortunately, the surprise came anyway, and it came in the form of a completely different, significantly higher bill. When I reached out for clarification, Christy Loudermill, who I was told was the "billing manager" (which already confused me, considering her title is practice administrator), handled the situation in a way that was honestly shocking to me. Her response came off cold, dismissive, and completely uninterested in the fact that their mistake had real consequences for me. Instead of taking ownership or offering real help, the explanation was basically a quick brush-off labeled as "human error," as if that magically excused everything. What made it worse was the tone -- like I was the inconvenience for asking why I was suddenly expected to pay far more than what Christy herself had confirmed. There was no sense of accountability, no recognition of the office's own miscommunication, and absolutely zero acknowledgment of the impact this caused. The entire situation left me feeling like accuracy and transparency simply weren't priorities for her. And the fact that someone in the office even referred to her as the "billing manager" just added to the mess. When the people working there can't even get titles straight, it says a lot about how disorganized things are behind the scenes. My opinion? If this is how the practice administrator handles problems -- with confusion, deflection, and an attitude that the patient should just swallow the difference -- then the rest of the office is likely following the same example. This review is based entirely on my experience, but I feel strongly enough about it to warn others. You deserve a medical office that honors its own quotes, communicates clearly, and treats patients with respect -- especially when the mistake is on their end. I won't be returning. And I hope this helps someone else avoid the headache, the runaround, and the dismissiveness I dealt with from Christy Loudermill at Oral & Facial Associates

Any time I needed to call them, had to call multiple times due to no one answering phone. On day of procedure before starting, discussed an impacted tooth and that they could expose and move said tooth since they were already in his mouth. They never said it would have an additional charge until after the procedure was done then said they would advise of amount after sending to insurance. 1.5 weeks later I get a bill for nearly $1,300.00 which was more than I paid for the 4 wisdom teeth to be removed. They refused to discount the additional charges, which were not covered by insurance. They only supplied a little gauze for after care. Other surgeon offices provide enough gauze for full aftercare as well as ice packs. I was treated as if this place only wants your money, they do not care about the patient or treating people like human beings. They also switched the location from where I made the appointment, but no one told me this until the day before when they called to go over what to do before coming in.

I had a fairly involved procedure done near the end of 2024, removing a cyst from my jaw (hey, too much HIPAA!) and Dr. Oakley was extraordinarily thorough with the process. I have been back for follow-ups several times, getting X-rays and consultation with Dr. Oakley. He is always thorough, explains everything at my level, and is available for me to contact him should I have any issues. Absolutely top-shelf doc! His staff is friendly and helps to accommodate your schedule, they take most insurance, and they work with you during the entire process. While I hope that you don't have to have an oral surgery procedure, just know that if you do, this is one of the best places you can go in the Kansas City area.

Then on her follow up the next day we were informed that they hit an artery on the initial surgery and they are having trouble stopping the bleeding. I was told the doctors friend had something like this happen to him so they are calling around for a solution as we are 2+ hours into the follow up visit. All the while I am not allowed to be back in the room at all for either procedure to talk to doctors or my girlfriend. I would never recommend anyone use this doctor or staff for any procedures.

I have had implants done by them for 4years, and am very happy with them. I am also trying to take good care of them, which means going to see them every year for cleaning and checkup! WHICH WAS ADVISED BY THEM! I have had a checkup once in the four years. Granted Covid kept me from going the first year because they were closed! But I have tried, and tried to call a schedule appointments, but ALWAYS get voicemail, and NEVER get al call back! I was finally able to get an appointment for today 4/17, which was scheduled in January. I show up on time, and they tell me they've been trying to get ahold of me to reschedule, and they have left several voicemails. THAT IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE! If they called, they never left a voicemail, and the number they called from must be someone personal number, cause I have several numbers for them in my contacts!! If I could find another dentist that could do implants and regular teeth, I would drop these guys in a heartbeat! Terrible customer service!!

On the day of her surgery, I came with her to clear up insurance questions. We were not having luck with the front desk, so we met with Dr. Green in his office. He immediately dismissed what my daughter and I told him because according to him, "we wouldn't say that." Eventually, he said he would charge us nothing today, my daughter could get her surgery done, and he looked at me and said, "...and you can just be happy." I said, "That is condescending," and we were kicked out of his office. My daughter was in tears, and he told her he was going to call her dentist and say she is no longer welcome in this office because of her mom and then refused to speak to her privately. My daughter was already concerned about Dr. Green due to reviews that said he wasn't patient with people who didn't like needles (they said he told them to suck it up or leave). Based on our interaction with him, I would say any reviews that mention his lack of patience are most likely factual. I do not know why my location is not showing as Kansas, but I am located in Lenexa.

He asks what I would like as far as nitrous or not and happily does what I desire. I had my wisdom teeth out as a teenager 20 years ago by Dr Green and had no complaints then. I have since been to Dr Wallin for a issue in my jaw bone and he is wonderful. Recommends me coming back every few years to keep an eye on the jaw bone area via X-ray which I am grateful for. My teenage son had his wisdom teeth out there as well over the winter. No problems or issues whatsoever by my son or me. The staff is nice, and honest about after care or billing. I wouldn't choose to take my kids or my business anywhere else for oral survey matters.

Was great answering all my questions (many) before the procedure and remained friendly and patient. He even called after the surgery to check in on my recovery. Thanks so much, Dr. Barber! In addition, I just received the bill and the pricing was more than affordable compared to many oral surgeons who over charge for simple wisdom teeth procedures. The staff was also very easy to work with. This office definitely acts with integrity and prioritizes quality of care over financial benefit! Kudos to you guys.
