A small boutique agency that really toes the extra mile. Sue was so nice to work with, she really kept me in the loop every step of the way. I met her in person at the office. The process was easy. I love that they use ADP and I can electronically put in my hours from home or at work. I'm not sure of the prior experience of a prior disgruntled employeewith her issues with pay but my experience is you get your hours in by the deadline, you get paid on time. If you don't, you have to wait until the next pay period. I've never had any issues with my pay from them but I always report on time and they send a nice reminder out to you as well! The only negative is that they don't offer benefits for a temp assignment but I was converted quickly to a perm employee so I have benefits via the company.

After doing some more research, quality seems to vary across resume writers, and prices are all over the place. I filled out the form on Steve's site for a free evaluation of my current resume. Unlike other sites where you might get an automated response or critique, he actually called me. Our first conversation was pretty funny. Steve gave me some advice that was half actionable. In other words, I understood what he said, but I also realized very quickly that what he was suggesting wasn't something I could easily do myself. Still hesitant, we talked a little more, and we ended the conversation with my taking a weekend to mull it over. I was torn. A new job easily covers the expense and resume writing is something I appreciate now as definitely not intuitive. I went ahead and the whole process took less than a week. The final product left me pretty floored. My interview with Rob was incredibly easy - he listened to stories I have told over drinks, and translated them into bullets that I never would have written but were remarkably accurate and poignant. He asked questions to keep me talking, and after a first pass, we went back and forth once on minor points. My new resume has achieved a 600% increase in number of responses. I have since had to customize it a few times because recruiters were first hooked and needed "a little more of [this]." The real results have tremendously boosted my confidence, and there is no question in my mind that a professionally written resume is worthwhile. They actually take the time to contact you if you seem like a good fit, if they find work you may like, and even if there are some concerns. They're just easy to talk to and to work with. After you go through the initial song and dance to see if you are a good candidate for employment, it's all down-hill gravy from there... or maybe it's just gravy. The staff is super friendly and understanding. And the best part is that they helped me find several temporary jobs that I liked and would never have found on my own. Then they did something awesome - after a while of me taking a break and working outside of their employment basis, they managed to find me my very first "foot-in -the-door" job INSIDE my field that I went to college for! They don't normally have creative type of work to dole out, but they pin-pointed one just for me! That job was the best place I ever worked for, and I'm happy to say I'm still working in my field. So, if it weren't for Express, I probably would be working retail, or something else outside my field now. I completely owe my start in my field to this company!
