My hometown library! So many fond memories of Saturday morning book readings, field trips, and…read moreafter-school programs. Though I no longer live in Jackson, I am a frequent visitor, and today the Jackson Public Library saved me with their free wifi! I was pleasantly surprised to find a fully open and free broadband network that would let me finish my work without the frustration of dialup or satellite internet. For the area, the library is well stocked and can usually order books if you ask. It has a very pleasant feel, though a bit on the warm side for me. The help desk was true it its name when I had asked about free wifi. Not only can you borrow books, but you're also able to send faxes, browse an amazing selection of local history, newspapers, and other periodicals, and hop one of the many computers available. If you find yourself in Jackson looking for a free network or wanting to bone up on your southern Ohio history, come to the public library! It's a great place to work for a few hours!

I spent a lot of time here after school growing up, and having visited again recently, not much had changed. They keep it immaculately clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. My wife and I love visiting Libraries. My wife is an avid reader and encourages our children to be…read morethe same. This location is great. Their Story Time is great and our kids love it! The staff is very friendly and takes the time to get to know each customer. They are very helpful with book reservations as well as suggestions. They help you with book transfers as well. I highly recommend this Library for any Cabell County patron and I can't wait until they are able to build the new Library. Finally, they have a number of programs for kids and this location isn't too far from a couple of the schools.

The local history and genealogy section of the library especially appeals to me. The local papers are available online and are of high quality. This has greatly helped with my family history.
