She is enthusiastic, encouraging and approachable. She observed my daughter over the last couple of years and noticed some gross motor red flags and set a meeting with me and my daughter's teacher to address what she was seeing. We ended up getting her assessed and there was a need for physical therapy that I didn't even pick up on. Same for OT. Ms. Morgan and my daughters teacher this year picked up on some fine motor concerns and we had her assessed and there was a need there as well. Ms. Morgan and all of the teachers are such big advocates to seeing the kids learn and flourish. The big reason I initially picked ELP was location and the fact that drop off is so easy. I had a newborn at the time and wanted drop off to be quick and easy. The walk from the car to the door is very short. The check-in process is simply scanning the barcode outside the classroom using the brightwheel app and putting in your code to check in your child then at 9 the teachers open the class doors and the kids run in. Check out is the same way. Scan barcode, use code, check child out on app then teachers send kids out to parents. Class is from 9-12 but for the 3s and 4s classes there is something called lunch bunch that is optional that you can sign up for on a month to month basis. Certain days of the week they offer lunch for the kids and extra play time. Pick up those days, if you sign up, is 115 or 130 pm I believe. You do have to pay a little extra for that program. Overall the school is excellent and priced more affordably than pretty much any of the schools I've compared it to. Your kids will be in good hands here!

We've been at this school since 2022 and have had both of our children here. At this point, we've…read morebeen through every single classroom, and we've had such a wonderful experience. Our oldest just started Pre-K, and we're honestly amazed at how much she has learned. She can write her name really well, is already doing addition and subtraction, and is starting to learn how to read and spell. Her Spanish has also improved so much since she started here. By Fairfax County Public Schools standards, we would consider her a "fluent" Spanish speaker at this point, which is something we're incredibly proud of. Our younger child's Spanish has improved tremendously as well. And honestly, even my Spanish has gotten better from being around the teachers and hearing Spanish so much! We feel like she's gotten such a great academic foundation, but even more importantly, the school has really helped her grow into a kind, thoughtful, and hardworking little person. One of my favorite things about this school is that all of the staff know all of the kids. It doesn't matter what classroom they're in, everyone knows our children and genuinely cares about them. Our kids are always so excited to see their teachers and the other staff members, and it's clear that they feel really loved and comfortable there. The teachers are also incredibly caring and really take their jobs seriously. I honestly feel like we're all on the same team, working together to raise our kids. We feel very supported by both the teachers and the rest of the staff, and that means so much to us as parents. They also put a lot of effort into making special events memorable for the kids and parents. The teachers work hard to teach the kids songs and put together performances and activities for the families. For Mother's Day, they had a really sweet tea party for the moms. They actually had the moms come in and sit and chat with each other for about 30 minutes before bringing the kids out, which was such a thoughtful idea and made the whole event feel really special. After being here for several years, we really feel like this school is more than just a daycare. It feels like a community, and we're so grateful for all of the people who have loved and cared for our kids over the years. I once asked for the syllabus of the next stages and it was sent to me the very same day. Miss Lisa at the front desk is the face of the center, always smiling, knows each kid and wait for it most parents names as well (She knows my and my husband's name and can even recognize our voice over the phone.. great customer service) She is amazing and we love to interact with her. They are the most loving teachers/care takers that my kid could ever have. They treat my boy as family and are always there to welcome him with open arms. He loves cuddling with them :) makes me slightly jealous that he loves them so much.. haha. Both Ms. Hind and Ms. Kamala have taught him a lot, and are so particular about his diaper changes and meals. I remember showing up earlier one day and my boy was eating a nice warm meal (home cooked one which I sent). I was pleasantly surprised that they cared enough to warm it before feeding him the purees. They also sometimes suggest on what I should start feeding him at home at each stage. Love this informal setting while still being really professional in the way they approach things. The app feature is amazing and makes me feel a lot better that I can see each notification on when my child ate and was changed and slept along with fun pics. Among the floaters, we really like Miss Zorina and Miss Farah. Very polite staff and love the amount of detailed attention they give to my baby. Coming from a Nanny and due to personality/preferences, our child had a very hard time adjusting to being in a group care setting at first but his current teacher here made a world of a difference. She is loving, kind, nuturing, and very patient. Most of the teachers here seem to be nice as well. We truly really like this center in general and continue to be happy with our decision. In addition to a curriculum that is fun, engaging and fosters learning with a good amount of structure, the Director Ms Hala ensures the place is kept orderly and clean. They have actual separate classrooms for each class/different age groups, which makes it organized and more structured, as we've seen it can get chaotic and disruptive having a one big open space without separate rooms (at other centers). Love the fact that breakfast, lunch, and PM snack is all provided, very well-balanced planned out meals. They have a very nice indoor gym play area as well as a nice outdoor playground. Another plus is that they are very current with technology. There's an app that we get updates of all of the meal and diaper/bathroom stats, along with pictures throughout the day each day. They are very good with communicating updates through emailing weekly Parent Newsletters of what's going on and what's coming up in each of the classes. The center celebrates holidays such as Mother's and Father's Day, Valentines, etc. and makes it a fun environment as well. We are happy with the staff that we interact with including Ms Hala (the director), Ms Lisa (the front desk business manager) who is so helpful and answers every question and concern thoroughly, as well as Ms. Anita and Ms. Simi (current teachers), who really put their hearts into caring for the kids in the class. Our little one is very happy here. Cost is on the higher side but totally worth it for the peace of mind and a healthy, thriving, and clean environment for our little one! She left reading and doing math at a level we couldn't have imagined for a five-year-old. What makes it work is that CHMS makes learning feel fun and intuitive rather than forced. Some of our most cherished memories of these years are of her coming home excited to show off something she'd written or a math puzzle she'd cracked. The administrators, teachers, and staff are friendly, accessible, and accountable. Communication is consistently clear, an app makes messaging simple, and our questions have always gotten thoughtful answers. When there's a bumped head or a similar incident, we hear about it promptly and in real detail. Not once in three years did we wonder whether our daughter was safe, whether her time was being spent well, or whether someone who cared about her was paying attention. The school also hosts back-to-school nights where parents meet one-on-one with their child's teacher, along with other chances to observe your child at work in the classroom -- a rare gift, and something we'll always be glad we got to see. The community events are lovely. The children put on a concert every winter and spring, and there's an annual pizza party and a trike-a-thon where the kids show off their cycling skills while raising money for a good cause. These are the occasions where we got to watch our daughter with her classmates and teachers and see how much she'd grown. CHMS is thoughtful about food, too. A monthly calendar lays out exactly what's being served each day, the meals are genuinely healthy, and lunch here meaningfully broadened the range of foods our daughter will try at home. The teachers (e.g. Ms. Sandy, Ms. Early, and too many to list here) are caring as are the students--I hear the kids and teachers greeting my child by name which is music to my ears. I suspect these kids are going to better at the visual arts than the musical arts. The administrators (Ms. Leigh and Ms. Amani) are great with all the wonderful enrichment activities that they plan (specifically the art lessons, ranch animal visits etc.). Ordinarily there is a long waiting list for any child care in the area. Child's Place has an upcoming vacancy for a four-year old which is a relatively infrequent occurrence. Hope your child has as great of time as both of my kids--this has to be one of my best finds as a parent of small kids.
