I called about two months ago to make an appointment for my two kids. I specifically asked how much it would cost for a self-pay new patient teeth cleaning. The front desk told me it would be around $250 per child. I then asked what the total would be for both kids, and she quoted me around $500. Fast forward to today--when I arrived, the front desk handed me paperwork showing my total would be $485. I asked to confirm that this was for both kids combined, and she told me no, it was for each child. I immediately said that's not what I was quoted over the phone. She went to check with someone in the back and came back saying the original quote probably didn't include X-rays. At that point, I asked if we could skip the X-rays, and they told me no--X-rays are required for first-time patients. Then why wasn't that included in the original quote? I stayed polite and asked if there was anything they could do, since I only budgeted $500--not nearly $1,000. That's a huge difference from what I was told. The only thing they offered was $50 off, which really doesn't make a difference in this situation. This was clearly a mistake on their end. I'm sure they could go back and listen to the recorded call and hear what I was told. In my opinion, they should have honored the original quote. Also, for anyone paying out of pocket, their prices seem to be on the higher side. I called around afterward and found other pediatric dentists with much lower rates. One office in Julington Creek quoted $324 for a cleaning and X-rays (and I confirmed that twice), and another quoted $259 total--although they were hard to get in touch with. Honestly, I was searching for pediatric dentists westside that take Tricare Prime and I had difficulty finding one, so I ended up traveling over 30 minutes to go to this dentist. They have a very kind front desk, great dental assistants and patient dentist. I love that they have a play area in the waiting room. My daugher is 2 and loves to come here. They take the time to go slow enough so she doesn't cry and adjusts. Now that there is a dentist office that is closer that takes Tricare Prime, I won't be switching. Bright Smiles paperwork and billing is always correct. I want the dentist office to be a positive experience for everyone, so I'll be commuting to this office every 6 months. read more

Dr. Bright was very patient, kind and knowledgeable. My son is 14 months old, has 7 teeth and he definitely wasn't happy to be there, but Dr. Bright was very nice and examined him and did a dental cleaning and gave me lots of tips on how to keep good oral hygiene for the baby and create good habits. Care quality sucks. The office cannot tell you if they accept your insurance. They will only tell you a week before your appointment through their insurance coordinator. Every dental office should be able to tell you if they accept your insurance. I had all the information needed for them to look it up. what a great way to stop clients from coming in the door. We will continue to come here because of Dr. Bright and Dr. Snow. However I always feel like I'm inconveniencing the receptionists. We had a procedure done today and my daughter's crown is too high- when I called to ask when it could be fixed the person on the other end of the phone had an attitude when we couldn't come back in an hour to have it fixed. I really enjoyed our first visit here, the entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. The office is clean and neat, everything is so organized. I had to reschedule the appointment a few times prior to coming in and they were extremely accommodating. There are three different areas for the kids to play in while waiting for the dentist, so that was nice. Dr. Bright was so thorough with the quick exam and his smile brightens up the room. As we discussed the care plan for our little one, we felt very comfortable and really enjoyed our first conversation. Dr. Bright was very gentle with the brushing and the exam, although it was my son's first visit, he didn't even cry for that long. The equipments are up to date and they accept all insurances. I would definitely recommend this office whether you are in this area or not, it's worth the drive. read more

I wish I could give one star. PLEASE DO NOT bring your tongue tied babies here. I am one of SO many horror stories with tongue tied releases through Dr. Bright. My sons tie was only partially released and I came back in to see his cheeks covered in blood after being assured the procedure produces no bleeding. He claimed my son was the first baby he ever saw bleed like that but since then I've talked to so many families with the same experience. please learn from our mistake. read more

After our previous dentist retired, we were referred to Dr. Bright. We are extremely happy we decided to stay with this office. The staff are ver friendly and the waiting room has toys to entertain the kids while they wait. Dr. Bright is very communicative about treatments; he does a great job of answering all of my questions. Patients are sat in chairs that face a tv screen and they are given headphones to help with distracting them. All of the hygienists that we've had always speak kindly to our daughter and are very thorough. If you have any concerns, they are always sure to address them or find solutions. read more

Learned about Bright Smiles when we were attending the open house for Bartram Academy which is near our home. Thought we'd give it a try since my son was nearing 2 years old and needed to get his teeth checked. Took my son to his 1st dentist appt at Bright Smiles and even though he was scared it was a great experience for myself and my son. Kids at that young age at times can't distinguish between the Pediatric Dr visits vs the Pediatric Dentist, so he immediately went stiff and became upset upon entering the dentist chair (thinking he will get shots). Dr. Matt was soooo patient with my Landon and throughout the appointment was calm & comforting. I'll be honest I was stressed bec my son was stressed but seeing how Dr. Matt takes time with the patient and calm them was very reassuring. We came back again at the 6 month check up and Dr. Matt was still wonderful at calming my son down and helping him to understand that there would be no shots and we would just be cleaning & looking at his teeth. When you walk in to the clinic it is very welcoming - there's kid space with toys for the kids and comfy chairs. When you enter the working dentistry space it is open and you can have your child lay down on the chair & there are tv monitors on the ceiling. At the end of the appointment your child is given a good bag and a coin to insert in the toy/candy machine where he/she gets a treat. Subtle things like this helps to reinforce that the dentist is a good place and not to be afraid, my son enjoys the end of his appointment haha. I cannot express how great this practice is especially for first time patients and parents of little ones. The patience & knowledge of Dr. Matt and their caring staff members made an impact for me choosing this practice. Plus if you have any questions after hours they are quick to return your call and offer help...plus they follow up a few days later to see if your child is doing well. Now that's excellent service!! Highly recommend Bright Smiles to every parent and child, you won't be disappointed! Best "Doctor Visit" you will encounter in your child's lifetime. read more

After a bad experience with another dentist, my 5 yr old was scared to walk into a dentist office. Dr Bright not only got him to lay on the chair to check his teeth but he was able to take him back without my husband and I. I didn't have a good experience with this practice. The office is clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly. However, the medical professionals failed to give my children the care that was warranted. I brought my son in with stains on his teeth. They did not scrape his teeth, they said it wasn't necessary that the stains would require a whitening treatment after he reached a certain age. They said the issues he had was due to the fact that he was "a boy" and boys have poor hygiene. Every question I had, worried my kids' teeth were permenantly damaged, was answered by both the hygienists and doctor by telling me, "oh well, he's a boy." Cue their laughter. I got no real substantial answers, treatment, or treatment plan. Unsatisfied, I sought a second opinion. The second practice I visited was able to restore the color of their teeth in one cleaning with nothing more than a typical, routine cleaning. No more stains, plus they taught my kids how to improve their hygiene in an effort to avoid future stains. I was relieved the stains came off. read more
