I've always had helpful and friendly service whenever I've walked in here - and have actually been pleasantly surprised to discover that I've also never left without the item I was looking for. But despite appearances to the contrary, it is open and if you've got a broken appliance they can mend it (probably!). I always used to get them round to fix my clapped out old Electrolux washing machine, until it finally gave up the ghost and died. The two guys who fix washing machines come as a double act and are quite chatty. The shop will also tackle broken vacuum cleaners, including dysons. You have to take your dyson in on a Saturday morning for assessment. It must be cheaper than buying a new one (and more environmentally friendly to fix it). They also stock vacuum cleaner bags.

They always have a good stock of washing machine and tumble driers in the shop. Often they have bargains as they gets ones which have very minor cosmetic damage hence there prices are often cheaper than those found in the big electrical stores. They also provide a call out service which I used once and the service in my home was prompt and polite and carried out by a knowledge service engineer. I only have them four stars as I have had to order my part which won't arrive until Tuesday but I highly recommend this shop of you have white goods problems. There is a small insure car park for customers.

I refuse to ask for help in computer shops. Refuse. I'm the same in DIY shops. I figure (STUPIDLY)…read morethat because I work online, I know what I'm doing and where I'm going and I'll find all of the computer things I need with no help at all. I'm often wrong. But it doesn't stop me. Most of the electronic shops in my local area are rubbish (weirdly, within a few short minutes walking distance of my house, I've discovered there are 5). Maplin roll their eyes and look like they don't want to be there. Comet talk to me like I'm a Moron, then try and upsell in the same sentence. Currys? They're surprsingly different. They see that I'm lost, help me, ask me questions without talking to me like I'm a moron. They chat to me about just how my laptop charger stopped working. They make sure I'm buying the right thing. They send me on my way feeling a little less mad I've had to fork out fifty quid I don't really have. They've got a large selection of stock, they know they're stuff and they're friendly. No other electronic shop in my area does this. Five stars, happily given that I'm writing this on my laptop with my new charger and it works perfectly.
