Benedictine 28Apr - 25Jun2025…read more Due to a very negative one week experience in another TCU, I was highly skeptical of everything at Benedictine. I viewed every action as though it might be another act of neglect. It took nearly two weeks to feel safe. Through that time, every Aide, Nurse, Therapist, Cleaning Person, and Administrator made it clear they would watch over me, helping me recover my health. Kindness and empathy were the watchwords they showed me. I learned many of their names and histories. I'd been at Benedictine for about three months. In that time, I'd grown to see them as family. They cared for my wounded body and spirit. I was challenged to improve every day. I am grateful that Benedictine chooses to employ those who look at working with people in need as more than just a job. Over time, some had rough days, and I'd try to help them as much as they did me. I made a few friends there that I'll visit as my health improves. Benedictine TCU is a welcoming and a pay it forward facility. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need. Kip N.

Nobody wants to think about senior/assisted living space or nursing homes. I recently visited a…read morefamily friend over Thanksgiving weekend at another facility, and it really made me sad at how these wonderful human beings were lined up in wheelchairs and treated as "just another body". Personally I would not place my parents there if given the choice or resources. So Landmark of Fridley. It opened up this past fall, and I was given a tour prior to its grand opening. Three floors, private rooms, and as you can see by some of the pictures I've posted, nice living areas. Some of the kitchens with granite countertops are nicer than my own kitchen! Most units have their own state-of-the-art washer and dryers, and most, if not all, have flat screen TVs. The only downside is there's one elevator, and the dining area is on the second floor. It must be a nightmare for staff and residents during rush hour. While not in a glamorous neighborhood, it appears to be safe, and there are a lot of amenities for the residents. And a review on Yelp wouldn't be complete without talking about food. For those who are unable or do not want to cook for themselves, the Director of Food Services is doing a fantastic job trying to have a creative menu for the residents, giving them healthy options and a variety of menu items.

Landmark's Cold (and Misleading) Response to Family in Need…read more Our mom and Landmark resident went to hospital couple of weeks ago - and was abruptly diagnosed with a terminal disease. Mindful that Landmark would offer no exception to its visitor ban, we scrambled to remove mom from facility and divide care-giving for her so that she could see her family. That meant a sudden leave from jobs in the midst of an economic collapse. I sent letter to Landmark seeking to appeal to their compassion and high ethics, asking for a credit for final month's rent when they provided us no service, for our family that has been ravaged by illness and financial distress. After a delay, Landmark's executive director told me she was working on "financial piece" with my mom's power of attorney, suggesting a credit was imminent. In truth, no credit was even offered, and exec director callously mislead me so that she didn't need to directly refuse my appeal for help.
